Chapter 1016 - The Order of Black Phoenix's First Trial - Surviving Dark Lord!

A period of utter silence lingered at the cemetery.

The Pokemon let out a nervous buzz, backing off. Harry and Daphne stumbled a few steps back, their fingers tightening around their wands. Ron, standing on top of Barty Crouch Jr, panted with an aghast look on his face, his left eye shaking as it landed on the Dark Lord. Next to him, Draco and Sirius stared forward, stunned, dread flashing across their faces.

The werewolf with no rationality didn't care about the silence, though.

Because of what was happening behind them, Black and werewolf-Hermione's grip on the transformed Lupin involuntarily loosened.

Letting out a mad growl, it threw both of them, blood spurting out from its wounded stomach. Then, it threw its salivating mouth left and right, an annoying buzz filling its head. Snapping with a bite, the werewolf turned around and looked at the bug buzzing into the distance.

In the next moment, the creature broke into a mad dash.

Hearts skipped a beat.

The series of events happened so fast and so suddenly that even as the werewolf passed by Sirius and Harry, they couldn't do anything but shout and lift their wands.

Unfortunately, Voldemort was done showing off.

"Avada Kedavra!" The Dark Lord hissed.

With a low thud, Lupin fell and returned to his original appearance, lying silently on the ground with his eyes open wide.

He was dead.

Silence.

A scream, of indescribable pain and wrath, echoed out of Harry and Sirius.

For the first time, perhaps, even Daphne's blue eyes widened, fury like never before boiling within them.

Draco ground his teeth as Sirius rushed toward the Dark Lord, leaving even the two boys behind as they followed him.

Far away, Hermione let out a howl, unable to return to her original appearance because of the full moon, and rushed toward Voldemort as well.

But neither of these was the first to reach Voldemort.

Blue flashes of magic danced across the space, and a thin, translucent blade went for Voldemort's neck.

The Dark Lord became black smoke, and the blade cut nothing but air, with Black fumbling on the ground and landing next to the corpse.

Another green flash of light.

The Pokemon fell, dead.

Daphne screamed.

Harry bolted forward as if possessed.

Sirius appeared from the sides and shoved the boy away.

Voldemort hissed out an amusing cackle, raising his wand again.

"Avada Kedavra!"

"Avada Kedavra!"

There was not even a contest.

A thin bolt of green lightning escaped the wand Sirius wielded — a greenish-black wand with a black-silver handle, donning an etching of twelve golden wings.

The moment Sirius cast the curse, his entire body jolted. Even in this moment of death, rage, and mourning, he realized that he had taken something that he wasn't even worthy of. His grip on the wand loosened involuntarily.

Unfortunately, Voldemort wielded his wand.

A green bolt of lightning, as thick as an arm, struck Sirius's puny one.

With a BANG, a green-white explosion blinded the eyes and sent Sirius flying dozens of meters away, his body falling with an audible thud and crunch… his fate unknown.

As he lay on the ground, Harry felt as if the entire world was pressing down on him. He couldn't feel his stomach, only a hollowness that crept up… slowly toward his heart and throat.

Hermione rushed past him, growling with pure madness.

Voldemort raised his wand again, carrying a small smirk on his ugly, thin lips.

Black was much faster, though. With one step, he caught up to Hermione and created a magical shield out of nowhere before slamming it into her and sending her rolling into the other direction, saving her from death.

Then, carrying that shield and sword, Black continued to rush forward.

Another green flash of light.

Harry tasted blood in his mouth.

But, to even Voldemort's utter surprise, the curse landed on Black's magical shield and exploded with a BOOM, sending the boy flying just like Sirius… alive.

Ron and Draco arrived, then, and stood in front of Harry.

Daphne joined the two boys, glaring at Voldemort, the black flames coming out of her Grimoire turning blacker.

Something snapped within Harry.

He cleared his blurred vision and stood up, joining his friends.

"I heard he's been training you," the Dark Lord said casually, walking around a squirming Bellatrix. "What has he named it? The Order of Black Phoenix? Haha… Amusing, isn't it? A Phoenix is known for… rebirth, rising from its own ashes after death. I wonder… how many of you will get to rise from your ashes today?"

"Mecha Eye…" Ron replied, his entire left eye burning blue.

"Acute Perception…" Draco said the world was expanding in his vision like never before.

"Magical Conjuration…" Daphne growled with a broken heart. "Heed my call and stand with me against the evil!"

"Crucio!"

It was not a spell.

It was Ron, reading the future as numbers.

Voldemort, who was about to enjoy casting the spell by speaking it out loud, paused, stunned.

Draco's hand lashed out. "Stupefy!"

Voldemort flicked the attack off with the tip of his wand effortlessly.

But it did give them enough time to let Daphne call upon the help, which came oozing out, like black lava from the depths of a sleeping volcano.

The creature landed in front of the children, its blue body covered in tongues of black flames, its black tail donning two eyes which had narrowed as if sharing Daphne's rage.

Voldemort looked down at the creature, lacking all smiles. "Is this how he's teaching the students to stand up to… me?! With insignificant trickeries?!"

Voldemort threw his wand in anger.

A mass of magical force, much, much more powerful than Draco's Stupefy, was hurled across the space, cracking the earth beneath it.

Draco, Ron, and Harry raised their wands to cast the Protego Spell instinctively, not caring about the fact that it might not be enough to hold Voldemort's attack.

Daphne smiled in pure pain.

"Use…" she commanded, "… Mirror Coat."

"Wobbuffet!" the Pokemon cried, its entire body lighting up with a multicolored aura.

The massive Stupefy Spell landed on the Pokemon and, to the boys' and Voldemort's shock, was reflected… stronger.

Everything ceased to exist in Voldemort's direction, and the earth was literally ripped apart by the reflected, magnified Spell.

It was so fast and so strong that the Dark Lord couldn't even apparate before it hit him and…

… continued raging destruction, disappearing into the distance!
