Chapter 217 - Chapter 208: The Withered Troops

Chapter 208: The Withered Troops

"Please wait here for a moment, 100 speed-type ghosts, 50 withered ones, hurry up."

The ferocious weasel had Gu Xi wait on the side while he quickly arranged for his colleagues to bring over one hundred ghosts and fifty withered ones.

The ghosts had no distinguishing features, even when they were divided into the Yin Wind Camp and the Ghostly Aura Camp, their appearances didn't change much.

However, the withered ones gave Gu Xi a shock.

He knew these withered ones were transformed from druids after death.

But he never expected the withered ones to look like this.

They were clearly a group of special tree spirits. They had human heads, arms, and torsos, but their lower bodies were those of a deer.

A kind of spear made of vines and a magic staff were in their hands.

But what caught Gu Xi's attention was that mushrooms grew on their deer hides.

When they ran, the mushroom spores flew everywhere.

[Witherer (Level 4, Summon): Experience (0/750), Attack 8+3 (Vine Spear), Defense 8, Health 45, Ammo 8, Skills: Undead Creature, Marching Without Pause (immune to all slowing skills), Plague Poison, Spore Recovery.]

Looking at the attributes of the withered ones, Gu Xi couldn't help but sigh. Truly elite undead, their strength and abilities were superior in every way compared to regular undead.

These withered ones could fight in both melee and ranged, cast spells, and even heal.

They were an all-purpose unit on the battlefield, suitable for any situation.

With such a unit joining, Gu Xi had more tactical options in battles.

This was a good thing for Gu Xi.

Although he didn't know what happened in Victoria City, the fact that Luna and her team hadn't returned meant something was wrong there.

Gu Xi needed to gather troops to ensure he had enough strength to deal with the situation in Victoria City.

Even if he couldn't benefit from the incident in Victoria City, he needed to ensure his interests weren't taken by others.

These troops were exactly what Gu Xi needed now.

With his current forces, he might be able to secure his position in Victoria City.

"All the soldiers are here, do you need help transporting them to a specific location?"

When all the soldiers were assembled, the ferocious weasel looked at Gu Xi.

"No need, I'll take them myself."

As Gu Xi spoke, a city gate appeared behind him.

Since they were in the barracks, the gate wasn't fully opened, but it was enough for the ghosts and withered ones to enter.

The ferocious weasels in the barracks were stunned. They had seen many ways to lead troops, but this was new to them.

After collecting all the troops, Gu Xi made a trip to the guild shop.

Now that he was no longer an intern member, he had certain purchasing privileges in the guild shop.

Gu Xi immediately chose magic potions, opting for large bottles that could replenish 2000 mana each.

He wanted to buy giant bottles that could replenish 5000 mana.

But his current mana level wasn't high enough to justify it, and his guild shop privileges didn't allow him to buy those. He could only purchase large bottles.

Reluctantly, Gu Xi accepted it. But he was already planning to build an alchemy lab in Aridowei to produce various magic potions.

He didn't want to be in a situation where he needed mana but had no potions.

After purchasing all the supplies he needed, Gu Xi didn't return to the apartment the guild had arranged for him. Instead, he went to the agreed-upon entry point to Aridowei City.

There, Gu Xi opened a gate to Aridowei City, holding his Cold Wind Staff, and walked through.

When he reappeared, he was in front of Aridowei City's council hall.

Dimy was still sitting on the steps, waiting for Gu Xi.

But with a large number of undead entering, Aridowei was visibly more lively.

"Is there any news from Luna?"

Glancing at Dimy, who was lounging with her legs crossed, Gu Xi asked with some concern.

"Four owls have been refreshed, one is still missing."

Gu Xi understood the situation. Unless an owl died, it wouldn't refresh.

Four refreshed owls meant four had died on the way.

The missing one might still be looking for Luna or unable to return.

This left Gu Xi feeling helpless. There was nothing he could do about the lack of information.

But now that he had exited the previous game world, he planned to try using the hearthstone to Victoria City again to get an idea of the situation.

"I understand, please keep an eye on things for me. I have other matters to handle."

After taking two steps, Gu Xi remembered the ghosts and withered ones he had just brought in.

He pointed at the ghosts and said, "Ghosts, find your own squads. Withered ones, go to the magic plant area."

After arranging them, Gu Xi headed to the small house leading to Victoria City.

Inside the house, the hearth fire was still burning, the wood barely affected, just as it was when Gu Xi last came.

Gu Xi approached the fireplace and placed his hand on the hearthstone.

In the next moment, his hand was repelled again.

But this time, the repelling force was not as strong.

This made Gu Xi happy. Although there was still a repelling force, it was weaker than before, confirming his theory.

He had a chance to enter Victoria City.

So, Gu Xi exerted more force, intending to activate the hearthstone.

At that moment, he heard Shaya's voice from the fire.

"Look, we've confirmed the coordinates."

Before Gu Xi could react, the fireplace flames surged, and Shaya, with a few others, jumped out of the fire.

Before Gu Xi could grasp what was happening, a cold wind blew, and Luna, with a large number of ghosts, emerged from the flames.

As soon as they steadied themselves, they saw Gu Xi standing by the hearthstone.

Luna and Shaya quickly bowed their heads, "Master, why are you here?"

"The battle at the Dispersed Immortal Garden is over. When you didn't return, I got worried about what happened in Victoria City."

Gu Xi didn't explain further and directly asked,

"What happened in Victoria City? Why did you lose contact?"
