She took a deep breath bracing herself before replying in a small but steady voice.
"I was asked to clean this room by Lord Darren"
He looked into her eyes, searching for any hint of a lie but all he saw was courage and determination in those crystalline blue, eyes.
He took a step back, his gaze moving to her hand behind her back as if he could see through her body and stare at whatever she was hiding.
"What are you holding?" He asked lowly, a knowing look in his eyes.
She didn't panic, she expected this question because well, it was quite obvious.
She slowly brought the flower and held it out to him, as if it was a gift for him all along.
Ciaran's eyes darkened further 'just like I expected ' he thought silently.
They remained like that for a while, neither party moving. The silence stretched between them, filling the room.
She still had her head lowered, but when she heard no sound at all, she slowly lifted her head and her eyes met an intense gilver eyes. Her breath caught in her throat and her heartbeat quickened ever slightly.
It wasn't one of admiration, but there was an undeniable aura of savagery and coldness that left people on edge, and she was no exception.
This was the first time she felt this way because of someone, it unsettled her and she felt like she needed to escape.
"It was a flower I picked up on my way my lord", she said while bowing slightly.
He felt a little annoyed, because of Darren and his silly pranks, he knew his best friend well enough to know what he was thinking sending this little dark maid here.
But he also discovered something intriguing, which he had every intention of getting to the bottom of.
He looked at her 'ugly' and scrawny form with no emotion and spoke slowly.
"You may leave..."
She bowed and turned to leave when she heard his voice again..."and...never mind".
She sensed his hesitation and was a bit curious about what he wanted to say.
She she stepped out of the room, she let out a breath she didn't realise she was holding.
She had to admit, it was a bit suffocating in there, especially since he knew how she looked, she wasn't entirely sure though as it was fairly dark that night.
She was even more scared of the possibility that he had seen her using her powers twice.
She made her way down the magnificent polished hallways to the first floor so she could do the work the head maid here assigned to her.
The rest of the morning went by quickly as she finished her work swiftly and made her way back to the servant quarters.
Meanwhile....
In his room, Ciaran stared at the delicate blue flower in his hands, then stared outside the window at the beautiful garden of different colourful flowers.
Then he spotted the patch of delicate blue flowers among the lushes.
He then smirked to himself, a knowing look in his eyes.
He then sent a voice transmission through his mind to his best friend "Darren, come here". He stood in front of the window, looking out at the beautiful view of gardens and sky, his expression unreadable, his silver hair dancing softly with the wind, his hand holding the flower tightened so slightly, a testament to his rampaging thoughts.
The door suddenly creaked open, a certain brown eyes peaking around incase of unforeseen 'dangers'
Darren cleared his throat, sporting an innocent look as he began. "You called, I was actually..." His words trialed off as he ducked to the side to avoid a small glinting dagger that caught the light as it flew towards him.
He chuckled, amusement dancing in those dark eyes." Interesting isn't she?" He went on as if he wasn't just about to lose an eye a moment ago.
Ciaran had a thoughtful look on his face "yes, indeed she is".
When he first saw her in the garden, he really didn't have any opinion, even on her unusual dark skin, and those blue eyes that held secrets and felt like it could gaze into his mind, and she had fearlessly just stared back.
He felt like she was too ethereal for earth but as his usual self, he didn't let his thoughts known or show any reaction, quietly stepping back when he got himself.
Now here she was again, covering her looks and something more intriguing.
He would love to see how long she would hold onto her secrets, because now he had his eyes on her.
Darren slowly stepped forward with a suspicious look in his eyes, he slowly circled and studied Ciaran like he was some sort of artistic piece. "Hmmm, that's unusual, is that your type?" He asked with sparkly eyes.
"Get lost before I make you" Ciaran threw at him before disappearing a second later after throwing an empty threat. Darren just chuckled and sat comfortably on the soft couch with a sigh... a smirk still playing on his face. "Interesting...'
