Chapter 30 - CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT

Sage's POV

I am beginning to question my choices, I am genuinely debating going back and saying I've changed my mind.

The only reason I chose to agree was because it looked like my princess wanted me to agree, and if she wants me to do something, I will do it. There's not much to it. That and the fact that I enjoy it when she tells me what to do.

While I was busy going around the palace and being given crash courses on topics I genuinely had no clue about. My choices were becoming questionable.

So mid crash course, someone randomly comes and tells me that Falen is requesting for me, and my only thought was…he's still here? Everyone else(all the shifters) left and were now living in the cities, but Fallen seems to love the ambience.

I walked to the room he was in, and he turned to me, in an eerie pace. It was rather concerning.

"Sage, I was expecting you," no kidding, you sent for me.

"So I heard, I'm here now," I deadpanned, as I sat down in the chair.

"I have a vision to share with you," so help me if it's about my princess again. These visions are out for her.

"It's about her highness," of course it is. At this point, I need to start consulting with the heavens.

"Go on," I stated cautiously.

"In my vision, I saw darkness, death, and souls… so many souls. In the middle of the chaos, her highness stood, sword in hand," For hell's sake.

"Was I there?"

"No," well then.

"Was someone there with her?"

"Yes," so very descriptive, isn't he?

"Who?"

"I do not know," and that was all. I walked out blinking for lack of a better reaction.

So I went to her room, ultimately deciding to tell her, because she would find out anyways, and if she found out I knew, she may kill me.

"Oh your back," she said enthusiastically, making me laugh, as she turned to face me in her vanity chair. She was doing her hair.

"princess, I have something to tell you,"her eyebrows scrunched together.

"Okay," she drawled, "spill."

"Well, um Falen, told me about another vision he had," her eyes were squinted now.

"And he saw you in another battle, in the most of darkness, death and souls," that was a weird statement to make.

"no, no, no, no, no,no" she as fidgeting with her fingers, then she got up, walked into her garden and started pacing. I walked out after her.

"Princess? Calm down. It's okay," I tried to soothe her as I walked closer.

"You know, I really can't catch a break. I don't deserve this. Why can't I catch a damn break?!" She was hyperventilating now.

I quickly walked towards her and wrapped my hands around her, she pushed against me, hitting my chest repeatedly.

"Let me go! I being pathetic,'' her voice cracked and I felt my heart break along with her voice.

"No, love. it's okay, you're fine," I rubbed back, still keeping a tight hold on her, as she fought against me, eventually she got too tired to fight, and stopped.

I lifted her up, and took her to her room, where I laid down with her on top of me, stroking her back.

"It's okay, you're okay, right?" She shook her head.

"It's okay not to be," I rubbed her back, as she tried to blink back tears.

"It's fine. Cry," and that she did. She silently sobbed against my chest and it made me feel horrible that I couldn't do anything about it.

Her sobs quieted down and looked at her as she slowly dozed off. I slightly shook her and she jolted up to look at me.

"Love, you need to eat," I whispered to her and she looked up at me with furrowed brows.

"Not hungry," she mumbled.

"Not an excuse, you have barely eaten anything today," I lifted her up in my hands, to look at her.

"It'll be okay. You've always loved bending faith right?" I tilted my head to look at her, searching her eyes, yet they held a vacant look.

"Maybe. It may not work this time," her voice shook at the last word.

"If it doesn't, simply screw the heavens. We shall oppose the heavens and rot in hell together," she laughed, at least she could laugh.

I got her food, fed her ( a rather common occurrence now), and then she changed into her pajamas, and of to sleep she was.

Coming back 7 months later with a 700 word chapter is really a mean thing to do but whatever.
