Chapter 80 - Chapter 80 – The Traitor

Han moved quickly, crossing the street in an instant. It was as if a black shadow had suddenly appeared and disappeared. He jumped over the rather high garden wall and jumped inside, then immediately hid behind trees and bushes, observing any potential enemies around him.

The first to react to Han's entry into the garden were two dogs wandering around. When the dogs smelled an unfamiliar scent, they began barking to alert the others. Then it run toward the source of the scent to show where it is coming from.

As the dogs' barking intensified, Han couldn't stay put. These dogs would eventually find him, and their barking would alert his enemies. He never wanted that. So he ran toward the barking dogs.

The ten-person guard team, gathered in the backyard for morning training, was disturbed by the dogs' barking and running. In such a dangerous time, these dogs were constantly barking at whatever they saw. The guard leader called out to one of his subordinates.

- Go and see why the dogs are barking. If it's bark in vain... It'll get a good beating from me this time.

The subordinate, accepting the task, was about to turn the corner of the building when the dogs stopped barking.

- The dogs fell silent. Do I still need to look?

- Finish what you started... (He turned to the others.) Line up. Let's begin our warm-up exercises...

After getting rid of the dogs, Han approached the two-story house. The rings in front of his eyes indicated that Berfin was on the second floor. While looking for an open door or window to enter the house, he noticed a man coming toward him, talking.

He hid behind the nearest bush. As the man passed by talking about dogs, he immediately moved and approached from behind. With one hand, he covered the man's mouth, and karambit knife in other hand, he slit the man's throat.

He held the man for a while, and when the struggling man had no strength left, he dragged him to the side and threw him at the foot of the bush. As the man lay dying, trembling, Han was trying to figure out how to get into the house. The doors and windows closest to him were locked.

He took a couple of steps back and looked at the upper floor windows. Finally, he found an open window. He approached the bottom of the window, jumped strongly, and grabbed the open window sill. He slowly pulled himself up and looked to see if anyone was inside. Seeing no one in the room, he went inside.

This is a bedroom. The duvet is uneven, and there's a half-drunk glass of water on the bedside table. It's clear someone is staying here. Han can't stay in this room for long. He had to get out of this room as soon as possible.

As Han hurried to avoid capture and reached the door of the room, he stopped suddenly. He calmed his heart. Then he took a deep breath. He came here to kill. One more, one less. It's okay to die if he fails. The important thing is to do his best.

Trying to keep his promise to his master is part of his honor. It's a sign of his responsibility to his master. It's a responsibility that comes with being a family, caring for others as a family. It's a way of life. There's nothing wrong with that.

After comforting himself, Han left the room. His heart and emotions were sharper now. He followed the circles in front of his eyes to Berfin's room two rooms away. Before entering, he bent down and looked in through the lower opening of the door.

There were no lights on inside, but the dim light filtering through the window illuminated the room. He looked carefully and, seeing no one or any shadows moving in the room, slowly opened the door and entered.

The moment Han entered the room, the circles in front of his eyes disappeared. He immediately looked around and checked again to see if there were any enemies in the room. Then he saw Berfin lying strangely on the bed. As he approached the bed quietly, Berfin's condition was clear before his eyes.

Berfin's hands and feet were tied to the bed in a crisscross pattern. The areas where the rope was tied to her wrists and ankles were bruised and partially injured and bleeding. The bloodstains scattered across the bed indicated that Berfin had struggled hard to escape this situation.

Han approached and quietly said, "I'm here, senior," but Berfin did not respond. Her eyes were wide open, but she kept staring at the ceiling. The redness in her eyes and the wetness on the pillow were clear evidence that she had been crying a lot. It seemed that Berfin had been through a very difficult time.

Han had come to help her. The bad times were now behind them, but even though Han was there with her, Berfin did not turn her gaze toward him even once. She just kept staring at the ceiling.

Who was the ruthless enemy who had reduced this girl to this state? Han didn't know, but it was clear that they needed to free Berfin and leave this place as soon as possible. When he reached out and cut the rope binding Berfin's arm with his dagger, and Berfin suddenly began to scream.

- DON'T TOUCH ME!! DON'T TOUCH ME, YOU DISGUSTING MAN!!... (She waved her free arm toward Han to protect herself and did not want to let him get close to her.) DON'T TOUCH ME! GO AWAY... (When Han took a couple of steps back, Berfin started crying.) Don't touch me... Don't touch me, you bastard... Don't touch me... Stay away from me...

Han moved far away from the bed and backed up to the door of the room. When he leaned his back against the wall and crouched down, Berfin was both crying and screaming.

- GET OUT OF HERE! GO OUTSIDE... GO, STAY AWAY FROM ME... I DON'T WANT YOU...

The guards doing warm-up exercises in the backyard heard the scream, but no one paid any attention. They were mere servants who did whatever their boss told them to do, and they continued their warm-up exercises as if nothing had happened. Scoundrels, traitors.

Of course, there were some among the guards whose hearts ached. Two or three of them wanted to object to what was happening, but then they gave up. Because they needed the money they would earn from this job. They were supporting their families and caring for sick relatives…

All excuses… If they were honorable people, they wouldn't have remained silent in the face of a woman's desperate struggles and cries for help. They continued to deceive themselves with the excuse of their families and live as dishonorable, filthy parasites.

While Berfin was crying and screaming, the door to the room opened. Coincidentally, since Han was behind the door, the person who entered didn't see Han. Han stood up immediately, drew his daggers, and prepared to attack the moment the door closed.

- You missed me, didn't you? Why else would you be yelling and screaming like that? (When he saw one of his arms was free he added.) I told you to stay tied to the bed. But you're not listening to me…

Han recognized that voice. How could he not? He hadn't heard anything but that voice for almost two weeks. Then suddenly, he realized. That was the reason why the enemy found him so easily.

- (After pushing the door open with his hand, the Yaver began walking toward Berfin.) You need some good manners. I just now took care of you, but it seems it wasn't very effective...

He had taken a few steps when a knife stabbed him in the back of the neck. The knife had sunk so hard that it had entered his neck and exited his throat. He involuntarily grabbed his throat and tried to turn to look at his attacker.

But before Yaver could turn, Han kicked him hard in the side, sending him flying into the corner of the room. With barely any strength left, Yaver forced his head up and looked at his enemy who had done this to him.

His enemy's eyes widened in surprise when he saw Han. Han, in turn, stared at Yaver as if he were looking at a piece of filth. Then he turned around and walked, cutting all the ropes binding Berfin, freeing her.

Watching her mortal enemy being killed before her eyes, Berfin's mood improved slightly. Once she was freed from her bonds, she sat up on the bed. It would not be easy for her to recover from the shock she had experienced.

She turned her gaze to Yaver, her mortal enemy. Yaver was still holding her neck. Then she saw the dagger Han was holding out to her. Han and Berfin locked eyes for a moment, then both began to stare at Yaver. Berfin took the dagger from Han's hand and pounced on Yaver like a tiger.

Yaver had lost a great deal of blood and was nearly unconscious. Berfin dragged Yaver by his hair to the center of the room. Then, kneeling beside him, she began to speak to him.

"You held me down with these and tore me apart, didn't you?" she said, and cut off all of Yaver's fingers. "You watched my nakedness with these, didn't you?" she said, and gouged out Yaver's eyes with a dagger. "This is the one who told me lies and let his saliva drip onto me, isn't it?" she said, thrusting the dagger into Yaver's mouth and cutting out his tongue.

"This is what made you a man, isn't it?" she said, then thrust dozens of knives into Yaver's groin. Berfin finally stabbed the knife into Yaver's heart. No matter what she did to this man, she couldn't rid herself of the hatred and anger inside her.

A moment later, Han approached her, grabbed her arm, and pulled her to her feet. He retrieved the daggers stuck in Yaver's body, and after took Berfin's arm, and they walked calmly out of the room. By the time they reached the stairs leading downstairs, Berfin had no strength left to go down. So Han lifted Berfin onto his back.

It was now quite light, and the sun was about to rise. Exiting through the front door would have been dangerous. Instead, Han opted to exit through the back door. But the moment he opened the back door, they were met with guards doing their morning exercise.

Nine enemies. Before the enemies could move, Han gently lowered Berfin from his back. He handed Berfin his curved daggers and then drew his karambit knives. They were light and were the best weapons for the hummingbird's wings technique.

Han calmly took a couple of steps toward his enemies, then suddenly turned into a blur. He was so fast that his enemies couldn't follow him. About two seconds later, all of his enemies were lying on the ground, waiting to die.

All of their necks had been cut, and their throats had been pierced by the sharp tip of a karambit knife. None of them could resist the attack. They didn't even see the attack coming. It was as if a black line had passed over all the enemies. And this black line brought death wherever it passed.

When all the enemies fell to the ground, Han returned to Berfin's side, picked her up on his back, and carried her away from there…
