After Shiro's transformation, Sasaki decided to move to the next location to retrieve the corpse for Kuro's transformation.
This last corpse was discovered by the Zephyr Raven, but it was not on their current island. It was on a different, much smaller island thirty kilometers away.
To reach the islet, they needed to cross the sea from the same shore where they were now. Sasaki knew this would not be challenging since he already had a plan.
He wanted to go there immediately and finish the last task without any further delay. However, he decided to hold off for now because the 'Water Serpent' skill had consumed a lot of his chaos energy.
He had used it twice today, and the deep-sea dive was particularly draining.
The immense water pressure at such a depth required Sasaki to use even more chaos energy to maintain the form of the Water Serpent.
