Chapter 2 - Dark Awakening(2)

Aildris grabbed the tip of the quill that had pierced through his chest.

The animals in his view appeared bloodthirsty but also scared? 'What could they be scared of?', Aildris thought as black dots filled his vision, he stumbled into the thick double doored entrance of the temple.

His weight pushed open the door causing him to fall on the floor, a pool of blood spreading from him and in a few seconds, he was dead,

The pool of blood extended from him reaching the base of what appeared to be a throne carved out from obsidian.

Upon contact, the blood vanished as though evaporating triggering a runic formation and array that glowed with an eerie crimson light,

Space darkened and twisted in the middle of the formation.

Katcha! Boom!!

Space cracked before exploding and in its wake revealing an 8 foot tall entity, its body an infinite shade of black as though someone had forgotten to draw in part of reality and instead left it blank in a humanoid form, the figure had two long horns spiralling out of his head, clawed fingers and a slowly moving tail,

"Finally, I am back. Took you long eno-", the figure started to speak as it opened its blood red eyes, the sight causing it to stop.

A pair of wings unfurled from its back as it took several strides towards the body on the ground, "This isn't one of the kings nor is it one of the Sentinels so what exactly is it?", The entity wondered out loud before closing its eyes and spreading its senses only to pull them back a second later,

"Where is my body?! Those traitors!!", The apparition yelled causing reality to tremble, its feet left the ground and its wings slightly clenched as though preparing for take off when its body suddenly lost its cohesion turning into a cloud of black gas before reforming.

"King of Reboot warned that this could happen, my soul is too unstable and without a body I might actually cease to exist", the entity thought out loud before taking a look at the body in front of him,

"When life gives you lemons, wait for it to rot then feed it back to life", it spoke as it approached Aildris' body.

Its feet lifted off the ground and moved further in Aildris' direction and when it was above him descended into his body,

A dark halo spread out from Aildris' body as the apparition descended further into the body as though fusing with it and in a few seconds, it was gone, almost like it never existed.

Badump! Badump!! Badump!!!

A loud heartbeat started to resound in the otherwise empty throne room of the temple, Aildris' finger twitched slightly, quickly followed by his hand, then his body began to convulse violently,

A series of black runes appeared on his body, forming a strange tapestry on his body.

Aildris slowly stopped his seizure like reaction before standing up revealing his now blood red eyes and demonic grin.

He reached for the quill protruding from his chest then ripped it out causing more blood to spill out of the gaping hole in it,

His body made squelching noises as the hole repaired itself, healing him and returning him to his peak condition.

Aildris took three steps out of the temple, each morphing his physiology. The first step caused black horns to protrude from the front of his head,

The second caused a tail to pop out of him, it swung in an haphazard almost sentient manner,

The third caused a pair of black leathery wings to spread from his back.

"Ah, much better", a voice that wasn't Aildris'

spoke, it was the voice of the entity,

It in Aildris' body took another step forward and peered at the world surrounding the temple from just behind the door, the interior of the temple while being dark, covered in dust and seemingly made from obsidian was a major contrast to the serene beauty that was the forest outside.

The entity set its eyes on the beast that had impaled Aildris a few moments earlier, it rose up it's right arm and waved it in the direction of the beast,

Boom!!!

The entire vicinity shook as the forest got obliterated, leaving behind a crater and flinging dust into the air.

Aildris' right arm exploded and regrow in quick succession causing the entity that currently populated his body to look at it,

"This body is far too weak, I can't casually wave my hand in peace. I could make it evolve but it might explode leaving me in a worse condition, not to mention I don't know its evolutionary potential", it sighed before its eyes widened in shock and looked at it's new body. No, not at it's new body but at something within, something that cannot be seen with a human eye.

In its view, a black sphere had a far smaller white sphere orbiting it. The white sphere was the waning soul of the body it possessed while the black one belonged to it,

The white sphere stole the excess unstable soul essence surrounding the black sphere, it absorbed it and grew progressively larger until they were similar in size but the difference in quality was like Heaven and Earth.

The two souls started spinning around each other like twin stars, the pulled each other in and at the point of contact of their borders, a new energy started to form with a silver glow, it grew in intensity until it became blinding,

The entity felt its conciousness start to slip forcing it to stop the process. Its mind stabilized itself but for the first time it felt fear, it tried to pull its soul away but at the first attempt felt it lose it coalition prompting him to stop.

It attacked Aildris' soul but when it took damage, it felt its own soul take similar damage,

In a fit of frustration, it looked into its soul.

The two souls had fused to form a sphere, the left hemisphere black while the other white and in the middle ran a silver line.

Its conciousness started to slip again as the runes faded, it felt a will awakening in its body, "It appears I'll have to share this body at least for now", the apparition spoke as its will continued to fade,

Hmmmm! Katcha!!!!

A humming sound quickly followed by the sound of breaking could be heard causing the entity to turn back.

As the portal leading to the Void entered its view, its eyes widened, "So this was your plan all along!!", it screamed in pure anger, "I should've known.", it whispered as the last bits of its conciousness faded away along with its wings, horns and tail, leaving behind the human body.

The Void sucked in Aildris' body.
