Sensei Gara summons the Kanji for teleport on his left hand letting him teleport in front of Yagumi and Jin before unsheathing his katana (Sensei Gara doesn't own a legendary blade but is still an SSS ranked sensei because of the 100s of Kanjis he's learned and mastered in his 29 years of life.) and summoning the Kanji for disappear on his right arm. He points at the incoming energy slashes with his katana before closing his eyes and looking away. Every energy slash disappears before they can land on the three.
The entire crowd: WOW!!!!
Sensei Gara sheathes his blade and bows.
Xzaivier lands onto the ground again.
Xzaivier: Sensei?
Sensei Gara: You went a little overboard there, but other than that.... Your guys' fight was awesome!!!!
Yagumi: I was the best, right Sensei?
Jin: No I was obviously!
Xzaivier: Shut up you buffoons! It was clearly me who was the best, I mean sensei Gara did just save you 2 from my Ultimate skill.
Jin and Yagumi: Shut up!
Sensei Gara chuckles.
Sensei Gara: You all did amazing. Go rest up because the Trial By Sword is in three days.
Everyone leaves the sparring arena.
[19:00, sword saint academy Café]
The café is full with both academy sword saints and Senseis but barely anyone's eating most are just staring and whispering about Xzaivier who's sitting alone. Amai walks up to Xzaivier with her tray.
Amai: Mind if I sit with you?
Xzaivier: Help yourself.
Amai: thanks.
Amai sits down and tries to eat silently but ends up grabbing the attention of Xzaivier instead.
Xzaivier: What is that?
Amai: Hm? Oh this? It's just lamb stew.
Xzaivier: is it good?
Amai: Oh, it's absolutely delicious... well for me it is.
Xzaivier: Hmmmm.
Amai: Want a bite?
Xzaivier: Whatever.
Xzaivier grabs his spoon and takes a bite of her lamb stew. Xzaivier's eyes go wide as tears of joy fall from his eyes.
Xzaivier: (in his mind) The raw burst of flavor. It's so good.
Amai giggles.
Amai: Glad you like it. We could eat together if you like.
Xzaivier: Huh? Thanks but I prefer to eat alone.
Amai: Oh come on... It'll fun I promise.
Xzaivier sighs.
Xzaivier: Fine
Amai: Can I get a bite of your banana bread?
Xzaivier: Help yourself.
Amai starts devouring Xzaivier's banana bread. Xzaivier springs up in suprise and anger.
Xzaivier: HEY!
Amai: (mouth full) What you said "help yourself".
Amai says in a deep voice, attempting to mock Xzaivier before giggling.
Xzaivier goes red in embarrassment and anger.
Xzaivier: GRRRRRR! I do not talk like that!
Amai: Giggles.
Amai: You're so red, like a tomato. Hi Mr. Tomato.
Xzaivier: Mr tomato?
Xzaivier chuckles, Amai chuckles aswell.
The two enjoy their dinner and everyone's surprised as Amai's the only one who's brought out Xzaivier's playful side even if it was brief.
The two turn in their trays and Amai waves Xzaivier goodbye before skipping her way to her room but Xzaivier takes a minute to examine the feeling of warmth inside him before turning around and walking to his room.
Xzaivier: (in his mind) Maybe she isn't so bad to be around.
Xzaivier blushes as he walks to his room.
Xzaivier: (in his mind) Hey, don't you dare go soft on me now Xzaivier.
Xzaivier makes it to his room but barely gets any sleep for the night as tonight's dinner replayed in his head constantly.
The next day.
[6:00 o'clock, sword saint academy facility]
Team X awakes to take on some commissions. Their egos have subsided for the moment as they're extremely tired.
Xzaivier: Another boring day of commissions. At least I'm getting payed.
Yagumi and Jin: You got that right.
They all sigh.
Sensei Gara: Oh come on... Helping around the city's not that bad.
All three sigh as they go to their first commission which was simply killing a few rats in someone's house, their second commission is repainting someone's wall, their third was picking up dog poop. Team X did 10 more commissions before their break. They all go their separate ways for their breaks but Xzaivier goes to the local diner where he meets Amai again.
Amai: Oh, Hi Mr. Tomato.
Amai smiles as she waves.
Xzaivier nods and takes a seat far away from anyone else. Amai notices and heads to the seat next to him.
Xzaivier: I assume you're also on your break from commissions.
Amai: Yeah, Mr. Tomato. Mind if I take a seat beside you Mr. Tomato.
Xzaivier: Do whatever you want. I won't stop you.
Amai: Thanks Mr. Tomato.
Xzaivier: Hmph. You really like calling me that huh?
Amai: Yeah, it suits you because you're always so red and grumpy.
Amai puts on an angry face before broadening her arms.
Xzaivier chuckles.
Xzaivier tries to be annoyed but deep down he's actually comfortable with her presence.
Amai: I never actually thanked you for saving me from that raid, the other day.
Xzaivier: what were you even doing there?
Amai: Well i was doing and individual commission and someone asked me to get them an artifact from that village but it was just my luck that I happened to run into a band of cultists.
Xzaivier: Right. Hey if you ever get into trouble like that again, you call for me alright... I'll be there.
Amai: Right. I'll be there for you too. Pinky promise.
Amai extends her pinky for a pinky promise.
Xzaivier: Sure.
The two lock pinkies for a few seconds.
Xzaivier: You're a top 11 legendary blade user now, you can't afford to be reckless.
Amai: I promise I'll be careful Mr. Tomato.
The two order banana bread and lamb stew which they share.
[After the meal, 14:00 o'clock, outside the diner]
Amai: it was nice seeing you again.
Xzaivier: Hmph.
Amai smiles and hugs Xzaivier but Xzaivier blushes and barely hugs her back. She then smiles at him and walks into a nearby alleyway but Xzaivier stays there for a few more minutes, examining himself and why she makes him feel so warm. Xzaivier then begins to leave aswell but he suddenly hears a scream in the alleyway Amai had just gone into.
???: Xzaivier!
Xzaivier: Amai!
Xzaivier sprints into the alleyway and sees... HIM.
Xzaivier: You!!!
