Chapter 13 - Thank You for Your Services Pt.1.

Things blurred in and out of focus.

"Ngh!"

A faint moan filling the room was abruptly cut off just before she got to her feet, the clear clinking of glass now chiming in as a substitute. She stood up graciously with care and without looking at the stirring patient,

"don't move too much, they don't like that," advised him that it was in his best interests to avoid any unnecessary movements.

"... They...?"

"Also don't talk to me, they don't like that," she stood by the door already making her exit, "I'll be back to check on you later."

"What...?"

Smacking her lips, she struck a red line across a name, most likely being the patient's that she had just interacted with.

"If you knew you were a lizard you should have told me, making me waste them on you."

"Someone looks grumpy... wait, you're always grumpy."

"And you help thieves."

"And what is it exactly that you do that is so different from mine? Worse even you go ahead and call it..."

A glance that turned the room cold, piercing through all, spoke volumes that which speech couldn't. He knew better and decided to end the ridicule session there or it would have all morphed into something less fun.

"R... relax I was just pulling your leg, Haha."

"..."

"A... actually talking about pulling legs I think I have some I have to."

"... you better."

Sheesh...!

"I'm a literal deity and she's almost making me piss...," he muttered to himself as he disappeared beyond the doors into the hallway.

"You know, I like it when I see him stammer. Always a big fan of your work."

"I was beginning to wonder why I was smelling cabbages."

"..."

The door shut itself behind Y'ggrah, "what was I expecting from a brute anyway, also, THAT'S NOT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN!"

"AND MY NUMBER ONE FAN IS THE GREATEST THIEF TO EXIST!"

...damn it, fair.

* Creak! *

The rusted hinges announced her entry into the first room that she was visiting, screaming once more as they shut the doors behind her and thus, her short charity tour began.

"..."

"So, this is all you people were up to?" he said as he ducked the fast-approaching projectiles behind him, they whizzed through his name, briefly displacing the letters into dust and once more disturbed his name even further as he threw the sharp objects right into Gionne's shoulders, a batch or so.

"Gionne!"

Gionne sprung a couple meters back, absently taking out the quills that had sunk into him.

Did he know about Ripha's weakness? Looks like he has some brains too, but I don't I've...

"It's bad manners to do that now," the robed figure blitzed to where the curious cat stood and with a great might, struck his purple fist into the region that the quills landed, sending Gionne flying quite a couple of distances away. Wincing mid-air, his pursuer had already clocked in on him, clasping his two fists into a ball, he went in for the kill...

...then Park happened, channeling energy into his feet, he leapt for the skies, "Ripha!" he tossed Gionne to the already waiting support below just in time for the two fists to collide against the face of his blade. They both went for the ground below, the field under impact erupting into a great cloud of dust and rocks.

"You're all doing really good," he clapped as he exited the cloud.

"DON'T! ...you're getting carried away now."

He almost grew there for a second...

"You're right, I got a bit hot there..."

"But you cannot just show me something..."

"!"

The purple hand pressed against Gionne's face, realizing too late, did he now see a hole through the dust cloud. His speed was...

"...and then call it quits, that's not manly."

...terrifying.

Gionne had always heard a boring number of times how a certain form was likened to steel and how his father spared no breath telling him how it was only through adversities that could help nurture it, but his good nature was damning him. He couldn't bring himself to like battles and that's why as far as it goes, did he recently decide to upgrade Lily only because of what his instincts told him about his current place.

Be it out of fear or because of a radical change occurring unbeknownst to him, molding that steel slowly but surely didn't seem like that much of a hassle to him anymore. He was slowly changing into his siblings...

"...heh,"

...and he liked it.

"?" sensing a change, he immediately channeled a force mid-air, propelling himself backwards, as if he had used air as solid ground. Gionne descended into Ripha's caring arms once more. He silently tapped his friend, signaling him to let him go.

"There are eyes now, we'll have to pick it up at a later time. It was a pleasure playing with you all," his cloaked being melded into the surrounding, capturing every single detail, in the next seconds after, becoming invisible then gone.

"..."

"..."

"... ow."

Faking hurts.

"Is everyone here really this skilled?" he ducked back in, his eyes amazed by the spectacle that he had just witnessed. It was silent, maybe because some sort of magic was used, but the fluid movements and skillful handling of their energies was a feast for his weary eyes. Now they may have wrecked his spot, but the payment was enough to cover up for it.

And also, if he used her help, he would be able to get something back in return. He hurriedly rushed off, hoping that he wasn't noticed.

"I think our training session ends here."

"Who or what even was that?" Park was helped back onto his feet; the very handy law already having done its deed. The name feature was something new that had happened, amongst others that he would come to realize thanks to the new autonomy that was birthed from a certain genesis, the seed that he had swallowed a while back.

Anyway, thanks to the new changes he was able to make out who the robed intruder was.

It had her specific signature mixed in. Was it all her or are they now keeping an eye on us?

...or me?

"Anyway, I think after all this, we should go and check ourselves out with the nurse, I would like to think that my legs are shaking just because of fatigue but that tremor thing sounded scary."

"Gionne?"

He had been awfully quiet.

"Go with them, so that you're fit enough to see another day to understand what's going on."

Gionne felt that Lily had more that she wanted to add but hid instead. He plastered on, a somewhat agreeable face with just enough joy to hide unseen turmoil brewing within.

"Yeah, let's get checked out. One must always be careful."

"R... right?"
