Chapter 235 - Chapter : 231 : The Battle Is Over

Outside the borders of G.D.I., the battle grew ever more intense. But within the territory, the villagers were well aware of the war raging beyond their homeland. Even so, they trusted Sebastian completely. As long as he stood with them, all of them would remain safe.

Meanwhile, inside Sebastian's Battle Lab, a young woman frowned to herself, Ayame. She had been confined for some time and had yet to leave. Although Sebastian had once told her, "You may go," Ayame, terrified and exhausted at the time, had been too overwhelmed to hear him.

Even now, she believed an invisible barrier bound her, preventing her from stepping outside. But in truth, Ayame simply no longer dared to try. Still, she planned to use this chance to search for the Jewel of the Four Souls. Although she did not demand its power, she could not allow a rival tribe to obtain it.

When Ayame saw the monster army advancing toward the land and Sebastian flying off to confront them, she decided the time had come. She slipped deeper into the mansion, quietly searching for the jade. Yet the empty halls held not the slightest sign of a treasure of such magnitude. Could it be that he does not possess the Jewel of the Four Souls? This unsettling thought lodged in her mind.

Giving up her search, Ayame turned toward the direction of the battle, hoping the monsters would breach G.D.I.'s defenses and create an opportunity for her to escape. But the sight that greeted her froze her blood.

The vast monster army, fierce and unstoppable one moment, was swallowed by bizarre flames and lightning the next. Her eyes widened with raw horror. Hundreds of thousands of monsters were reduced to ash and torn flesh in an instant. Ayame stood there, mouth agape, unable to close it.

"Did he… kill them all with just a wave of his hand?" Her gaze drifted upward.

There, suspended in the sky through the power of malevolent spirits, Sebastian unleashed magic after magic, each one cascading downward in cataclysmic waves.

To Ayame, he looked like a god of slaughter. The monsters below were nothing more than ants, unable to escape his grasp.

Seeing this devastating strength, Ayame felt her last hopes crumble. She had originally planned to wait until the monsters broke through G.D.I., then slip away in the chaos. But after witnessing this… escape felt impossible.

What troubled her even more was that, during their first meeting, Sebastian had radiated absolutely no killing intent. But now, even from afar, the murderous aura rolling off him made her skin crawl. I actually stood face-to-face with someone like this…

The monster army had also realized the truth. Terrified by his overwhelming power, many scattered and fled. Others attempted to circle around and strike G.D.I. from another direction. But there, waiting for them, were Miyatsu, Miroku, Inuyasha, and Kikyo.

Under Sebastian's direct and indirect guidance, their strength had skyrocketed. The monsters never stood a chance. Soon, the once-mighty army lay in ruins. Only a handful of cunning creatures managed to escape. Sebastian had achieved a flawless victory.

Outside G.D.I., the land was a sea of gore, shredded limbs, and blood-soaked soil. Yet this was already a blessing for the monsters. Many had perished so completely that not even their bodies remained.

Sebastian repurposed the corpses, using some as fuel and others as food for the dangerous species under his control. He also intentionally captured several monsters alive and handed a portion over to Ainz for experimentation. The strongest survivors he kept for his own research, including the Thunder Beast Brothers. Their weapons were seized as well.

After this battle, Sebastian's reputation in G.D.I. soared to unparalleled heights.

"Long live Sir Sebastian!"

"Sir Sebastian!"

"We will follow you even unto death!"

As Sebastian returned, waves of fervent cheers washed over him, but he felt no joy. To him, eliminating monsters was merely routine. Upon entering his laboratory, he found a girl kneeling on the floor.

"Hm?" Sebastian frowned slightly. It was Ayame.

He had barely processed this when she suddenly clung to his leg, tears streaming down her face.

"Sir Sebastian, please don't kill me! Wooo-! I'll do anything, just don't kill me!" She had seen his power firsthand and assumed she was next to die.

Sebastian let out a helpless sigh. He had never intended to harm her. Ayame bore no malice toward him and posed no threat.

"You're willing to do anything, huh?" Sebastian smiled faintly.

Elsewhere in G.D.I., inside a blacksmith shop.

"Pack your things! We're leaving now! Sebastian is a monster!" Izumo hurriedly stuffed tools into a bag while his apprentice scrambled beside him. They had witnessed Sebastian's power and wanted nothing more than to escape this dangerous land. But then a cold, unfamiliar voice drifted across the room:

"Leaving so soon?" Izumo froze. Every hair on his body stood up. He had not even noticed someone enter.

"S-sorry, customer, we're, closed…" But when he turned and saw who the speaker was, Sebastian.

His sweat turned icy. A suffocating aura of death closed in on them. Both master and apprentice instinctively tried to flee, only to realize that escape was impossible.
