The Pure Land of Bliss.
Carrying Cerberus in her arms, Yama returned to the Pure Land of Bliss. The first sight that greeted her was her three guardians seated on their divine thrones.
"Father."
"Mother."
"Aunt."
Yama greeted them obediently.
"Little Yama."
Hestia approached with a wide grin, effortlessly lifting Cerberus from Yama's arms and tossing it aside before hugging Yama tightly. With a contented sigh, she said, "My goodness! Without realizing it, Little Yama has grown up so much! You used to be just a tiny thing, and now you're taller than your aunt. Time truly flies."
Well...
Yama may have the physique of a standard teenage girl, but as for Hestia?
Heh heh heh...
This isn't a joke!
Hestia is the definition of a petite and childlike figure. Her body type screams "loli," and honestly, it's only because Hestia doesn't care that she hasn't changed herself into a more mature form.
Yama, looking at her aunt, replied helplessly, "Auntie, after all, I've already grown up."
"Mm!"
"Mm!"
Hestia hugged Yama tightly, rubbing against her affectionately with a big smile, nodding in satisfaction.
Yama sighed in exasperation but didn't resist. Deep down, she truly enjoyed the warmth of familial bonds.
If she were to think about it…
Yama belonged to the Greek Pantheon Mythological World.
But!
There was a difference.
Unlike other gods of the same pantheon, Yama grew up in an environment filled with love and care. From her mischievous and playful aunt to her seemingly cold but genuinely gentle father, her nurturing mother, and even her father's subordinate deities—each and every one of them doted on her.
This made Yama treasure familial affection deeply. Especially her bond with her aunt—Hestia had always been her partner in crime. Whenever Yama got into trouble and her mother prepared to scold her, Hestia would swoop in and whisk her away.
This close bond created a uniquely intimate connection between Yama and her aunt, almost like that of kindred spirits, despite their age difference.
Of course!
This was purely familial affection, not the infamous, chaotic relationships often seen in the Greek Pantheon. Those situations... well, there's really nothing else to say about them.
"Aunt…"
Seeing her aunt clinging to her with such fervor, Yama couldn't help but shake her head, exasperated but also unable to suppress a teasing remark. "Auntie! Right now, you look like some kind of obsessive fangirl!"
"Huh?"
Hestia immediately straightened up, raising a finger in objection. "That's not called being a fangirl! It's called appreciating beautiful girls, understand? Little Yama, it seems you still don't get it! I'm telling you, you need to study hard and grow properly, got it?"
Listening to Hestia's earnest "teaching," Yama could only shake her head helplessly. This was, indeed, her aunt's personality. No matter what, it was something that would never change.
But!
It was precisely because of this that Yama loved her aunt so much.
"Alright."
Yama nodded earnestly and said, "Auntie, I'll remember that!"
"Tch!"
Hestia clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction, muttering, "Honestly! That sounded so perfunctory. Whatever! It's not a big deal anyway. There's really nothing more to say about it."
Though clearly displeased, Hestia didn't pursue the matter further.
So...
Yama glanced at her aunt, puzzled by her behavior. What's going on? What exactly is her train of thought?
Even though...
From childhood to now, Yama had always been close to her aunt. They had practically grown up together.
However.
Many times.
Yama still couldn't fully understand her aunt's way of thinking. All she could say was that it was difficult to grasp and even harder to predict.
"As expected!"
Hestia looked at Little Yama and sighed, saying wistfully, "Although I've tried so hard to guide you from a young age, it seems Little Yama and I are ultimately not on the same wavelength!"
"Ha ha ha~~~"
Persephone watched this scene unfold, unable to stifle her laughter as she gently shook her head. Honestly, what more could be said?
Clearly!
Her daughter had been utterly led astray by her sister-in-law!
"Elder sister," Hades finally spoke calmly, "that's enough. Otherwise, Little Yama might start questioning her own existence."
"What do you mean by 'questioning her own existence?'" Hestia retorted, dissatisfied. "Brother, this is just an elder teaching a younger one, okay? And besides, don't you think Little Yama would look absolutely stunning in a princess dress or a Lolita outfit?"
Hestia's eyes twinkled mischievously as she grinned and blinked cutely, clearly delighted with her idea and hoping to persuade her younger brother with her enthusiasm.
"Elder sister."
Hades replied flatly, "Stop teasing Little Yama. Otherwise, next time, she might not indulge you anymore."
"Fine!"
Hestia pouted adorably and retreated to the corner, sulking.
Clearly!
Hestia was quite upset that her brother didn't support her idea. In her opinion, Little Yama would look incredibly cute in the outfits she had in mind. Why wouldn't anyone listen to her?
This was so frustrating!
Hestia felt a bit helpless and resigned. She had completely failed.
"Ha ha ha~~~"
Persephone found the entire scene amusing, laughing softly as she shook her head. It was hard not to chuckle at such antics.
Of course!
It wasn't surprising that Hestia would behave this way. Such actions were entirely in line with her character.
Given this.
Persephone simply watched the commotion with a warm smile, choosing not to involve herself. Why bother stepping in when you could just enjoy the show?
There was no need!
Absolutely no need!
From any perspective, this was a matter that didn't require intervention.
"…"
Cerberus, meanwhile, had been unceremoniously tossed to the ground. The little pup curled up on the floor, staying perfectly still. After all, what else could it do? It was just a small dog—surely it wasn't expected to intervene in such chaos?
Impossible!
"Whimper, whimper…"
Cerberus felt like crying. What even is this situation?
Why did things suddenly take such a turn?
Oh no!
Oh no!
Cerberus wanted to sob but instead remained quietly lying on the floor, not daring to move a muscle.
Seeing this.
Persephone spoke gently, "Little Three, you can come over to me."
"Whimper, whimper…"
Cerberus let out a soft, endearing whine.
In the next moment.
Its form began to shift. In mere seconds, it transformed into a petite, dark-skinned girl who looked about five or six years old. The little girl ran over obediently, her voice soft yet respectful as she said, "Queen of the Underworld…"
Persephone affectionately patted Cerberus' small head, her voice warm as she said, "Little Three, don't be nervous. If you ever feel bored, you're welcome to come to the Pure Land of Bliss to play with Little Yama. Relax! In the Underworld, you don't need to do much. Just stay by Little Yama's side."
"Mm!"
"Mm!"
Cerberus nodded obediently.
She knew exactly what she was supposed to do and understood her role.
After all!
Though Cerberus appeared to be a small child, she was incredibly clever and knew how to navigate her position wisely.
Having experienced the outside world.
Cerberus had learned a great deal and gained a clear understanding of her circumstances.
Maturity isn't tied to age!
At the very least!
For Cerberus, she was incredibly mature and fully aware of what was expected of her. Having lived through hardships, she had come to truly understand her place.
Cerberus knew that her status and privileges had nothing to do with her own merits. They were entirely due to her connection to Little Yama, the princess of the Underworld.
That was the key!
Simply put.
Her position was a direct result of her association with the princess.
Of course.
Cerberus didn't mind. To her, it was all the same. These matters didn't concern her; they were trivial at best.
Why overthink it?
As long as she had good food, good rest, and an easy life, wasn't that enough? What more could she want?
Sometimes, it's best not to overcomplicate things. Cerberus fully understood that she didn't need to aim for anything beyond her reach.
With that clarity.
Cerberus remained docile, letting out a soft bark before reverting to her small, adorable canine form. She trotted back to Little Yama's side.
Yama smiled warmly, scooping Cerberus into her arms and gently stroking her. Her expression radiated tenderness and care.
For a moment.
The atmosphere seemed to settle into a peaceful calm.
Hmm...
The entire Pure Land of Bliss was enveloped in a serene and harmonious ambiance.
But!
After a brief pause, Yama softly asked, "Father, should we begin preparations?"
"For the operation targeting the Japanese Pantheon Mythological World?"
At that moment.
A sharp glint flashed in Yama's
eyes. She understood clearly that her father's next move would involve the Japanese Pantheon Mythological World. Was it time to act?
Yama treated this matter with utmost seriousness.
Indeed!
Yama was fully aware of the significance of her role in the Underworld and her importance to its future.
Simply put!
The future…
Was in her hands!
"Sigh…"
Persephone gently shook her head and said softly, "Little Yama, there's no need to rush or be so eager. This isn't something that requires immediate action. You don't need to push yourself."
Persephone looked at her daughter with concern. She wasn't joking—her worry was genuine.
After all!
For the Underworld, there didn't seem to be any need to move so hastily.
"Mother."
Yama responded with a gentle shake of her head, smiling warmly as she said, "I understand what lies ahead, and besides, isn't this my responsibility?"
Her tone was calm, yet resolute.
As the princess of the Underworld, how could Yama not understand her role and responsibilities?
Moreover!
For Yama, all of this had been anticipated long ago. It was precisely because of this that she hesitated not even for a moment.
And…
Yama had complete faith that her father had everything under control. In her eyes, her father was an invincible existence, always considering every detail.
Because of this!
Yama was unwavering in her decision. Now that she had reached adulthood and stepped into the realm of God-Kings, it was time to take action.
"Ha ha ha~~~"
Hestia teased with a grin, "Oh my, oh my! Sister-in-law, could it be that you're reluctant to let her go? But honestly, it's understandable. After all, this is Little Yama we're talking about."
"Who wouldn't feel reluctant?"
Hestia's mischievous smile made her look like a sly little fox as she poked fun at Persephone.
Persephone, looking at her sister-in-law, could only shake her head helplessly. "Elder sister, I'm not reluctant to let Little Yama go. It's just… she's still so young. At this age…"
Persephone's attempt to explain herself felt somewhat futile.
Fine!
Alright!
Yes, she was reluctant. Her daughter was only five million years old—a mere child by their standards. And yet, she was about to take part in something so significant?
But…
Looking at her thoughtful daughter, Persephone sighed softly, her heart filled with both pride and resignation. In the end, she chose to say nothing further, instead letting her feelings of gratitude and admiration for her daughter speak for themselves.
