I didn't say a word throughout breakfast, my mind stuck on that letter.
Who sent it? Was it Freya trying to lure me to her? Or was it Ishtar trying to lure me?
It's definitely one of the two.
It doesn't make sense for Freya to target Haruhime right now.
But then again… does Freya even know I care about Haruhime? I'm not sure she's investigated me that deeply. Besides, I've only met Haruhime once so far.
Yeah… It was definitely Ishtar who sent that letter. But why blame Freya for it?
I know the two of them don't like each other, but still…
That war between their Familias that happened in the original story isn't even going to happen now. At least there's no sign of it. My existence has already changed everything.
"Luan, what's wrong?"
"Hm?"
"You're lost in thought. More than usual. Is something bothering you?" Mikoto asked.
"Well… there's something I need to deal with today. Speaking of which, I better get going." I stood up, and Hestia called out to me.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm heading to the Ishtar Familia's house." I didn't lie to her. "But I'm not going there for the reason you're thinking. I have something to take care of."
"The Ishtar Familia?" Mikoto looked surprised. She doesn't know about my relationship with Ishtar.
Lili and Hestia, however, do. They both know I've been involved with Ishtar before.
"It's nothing, Mikoto. I'll be back soon. Oh, and don't be surprised if I come back with someone."
"What do you mean by that?!" Hestia raised her voice.
I smiled and used my teleportation skill.

I teleported near the entertainment district.
As soon as I approached, people started coming up to me. I tried to treat everyone as kindly as I could, but more and more people kept gathering, and I had to run away.
I dashed as fast as I could toward the Ishtar Familia's mansion.
I passed through the entrance without identifying myself and went straight to Ishtar's room.
When I arrived, I saw her sitting on her throne.
Ishtar had her hair down and straight, flowing down to her waist. She wore a long white dress—almost transparent.
I had a full view of her body.
I can't deny it—she has a beautiful figure.
And she does look stunning with her hair like that.
As soon as Ishtar noticed me, her eyes lit up and she stood. "Luan!" she screamed and ran towards me. But I stepped back and avoided her touch. She fell to the floor and started crawling toward me.
I sighed and said, "Please… stop acting like that."
"But… But… I want you so badly…"
"You should've realized by now that you don't get to have me whenever you want. Control yourself. Are you some kind of nymphomaniac?"
"But it's been so long! I haven't slept with anyone these past days! I've been waiting for you! But you never came!"
"First question."
"I'll answer anything… as long as you promise to fuck me."
I stared at her, feeling disgusted.
Even though I don't like this woman, she still manages to turn me on and give me incredible pleasure. I guess I can promise…
If I don't, she won't give me any answers.
And if I start torturing her… she'll enjoy it. This pervert.
"…Fine."
"Ask me anything you want!" Ishtar knelt down and waited eagerly for my question.
"Was it you who leaked the information that I'm the author of Re:Zero? And also told people where I'm living?"
"Yes, it was me."
"I figured."
So it really was her.
"Second question."
"Yes?"
"Were you the one who sent me that letter saying Haruhime was in danger?"
"No. That wasn't me."
"What?" She's not lying. I'm using my "Eye of Truth" skill, so I know for sure she's telling the truth.
"I didn't send the letter."
"Did you ask someone else to send it?"
"No… but I did come up with the plan. I told Aisha to tell you Haruhime is in danger."
Ah… that makes sense. So it was Aisha who sent the letter.
But… why drag Freya into it? Well… it doesn't really matter.
"Where's Haruhime now?"
"She's in the same place as always. In her room."
"Alright. I'm going to her."
"Wait! You promised!"
"I promised… but I never said it'd be today." I smirked.
"Luan! Wait! Luan! You promised! Please… I'm going crazy!" Ishtar crawled to my feet, begging.
I clicked my tongue and used teleportation again, appearing in the same room where I'd last seen Haruhime.
I appeared inside the room and saw Haruhime lying on the bed.
She was covered up.
Only her tail and head poked out from under the blanket.
I walked over to the bed and called out to her. "Haruhime."
"What?"
Her ears perked up, and she threw the blanket aside. She saw me standing by the bed, her eyes full of fear.
Even though we'd met and talked before, she still didn't trust me.
Maybe she thinks I'm here for her "services."
"I'm here to take you away."
"What? What do you mean by that?"
"If you stay here, you'll be in danger. I want to bring you with me to the Hestia Familia and protect you. Don't worry… you can trust me."
