Elizabeth's eyes pleaded as she whispered, "Yes... Thea... stay with us."
Suddenly, Ryder's footsteps thundered down the stairs, slicing through the tense silence.
His voice cut sharp and relentless. "Enough. Let her leave, Mother."
Ryder's grandfather stared at his grandson. "Ryder, how can you say such words? Your actions have already hurt her..."
Elder Edward rose from his seat, his movements slow but deliberate.
He turned to Thea with quiet sadness. "Thea, don't waste your tears on someone who's decided to leave.." he said softly, eyes brimming with calm understanding. "He has made his choice... now let him be."
She looked in his direction, she saw him coming downstairs, his eyes avoiding hers.
