Chapter 1 - The Three Little Liars: First Encounter and the Crazy Nurse

Luis, Leonardo, and Lucas were three children who lived in a small town. They were great friends, known not only because their names all began with the same letter, but also because of their stories.

They had adventures, and every week they would tell what they had lived through in front of the town. But hidden within those stories, there were always three lies.

The rules were as follows:

1. Each one of them would say one lie.

2. The people had only one chance to guess.

3. After ten attempts, the opportunities were over.

Thanks to this, they managed to capture the attention of the townspeople and many curious tourists who sometimes came by to listen. The main attraction was the moment when the audience had to figure out which were the three lies.

One day, a reporter from a newspaper in a big city came to witness the "show." Luis began to tell that week's story as follows…

"Last Wednesday we went to the abandoned hospital in the city. We wanted to confirm the presence of the cursed nurse. The story says that this nurse went mad after seeing all the experiments of a doctor who was trying to find cures for new diseases.

He used strange and bizarre experimental remedies: he drilled holes into the skulls of his patients, made them eat brains from people who carried bacteria to attack their illness, connected wires to them and sent electric shocks to the affected muscles, and even swapped and transplanted pig and cow hearts. Strangely enough, the doctor actually discovered more than one cure with his unusual methods.

But the nurse who worked with him saw too much. One day, in her madness, she killed the doctor. Legend says the nurse screamed with tears in her eyes because her own son had been one of his experiments, taken without her permission, and it had failed.

From then on, any "new" method of treatment in that hospital was destroyed by the nurse's spirit. There was never any progress, and soon the hospital was shut down…"

When Luis finished this part of the story, Leonardo stood up and continued the tale…

"We went up to the second, third, and fourth floors, hoping to see the ghost of the nurse, but nothing happened. Reading the legend again, we realized we wouldn't be able to see her just by looking. So, we used a frog we found in the hospital's courtyard.

We planned to operate on it in one of the surgery rooms, and by using some strange method we hoped to find her ghost. We put on some torn lab coats we found in the operating room and began the operation.

When we opened the frog, the tables began to shake, the surgical instruments started floating, and we all panicked. It was really happening... the ghost of that woman was making herself present, throwing things around, floating scalpels and knives that appeared out of nowhere. The frog began to vibrate and then lifted into the air.

Slowly, it positioned itself in front of us, taking on a threatening stance. From above, a guttural sound echoed everywhere. With a spectral voice, she ordered us to leave the place.

Without thinking twice, we ran out of the room toward the hospital's exit, but halfway there the doors slammed shut, locked from the inside. The lab coats rose into the air, forming the shapes of the patients who had been treated by that doctor, and to our horror, they became visible. Every experiment the doctor had performed on them had been imprinted on their souls.

The spirits did not touch us, but they surrounded us. The nurse approached, controlling the opened frog, and in a moment of pure panic, the three of us ran through the sea of spirits…"

Leonardo sat down, and Lucas stood up to continue the story. He paused to look at the audience... their excited, worried, some of them were smiling, others with a fearful expressions filled him with enthusiasm.

Absorbing all those feelings made them feel complete. Before sitting down, he noticed a fixed gaze on him. Searching among the crowd, the reporter's eyes caught his attention.

He stared firmly and curiously at the three boys. Still, Lucas opened his mouth and continued the tale:
