This was a demanding job; they risked their lives to keep the country safe, so they were paid a weekly fair wage. Other schools did the same thing. Some joined the MTF for the combat experience, others for the respect and others to feel superior. Nobody really did it for money, as the citizens of the country were already well off, so they didn't really need that money. The money was awarded based on the type of monsters they killed and how strong the monsters were. The stronger the monster, the higher the wage. There was a database containing every type of monster discovered, as well as a description of their appearance and abilities. The undiscovered ones had a question mark and an empty description on their profile.
