Chapter 3 - Cruel & Bossy Aarohi..

Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot rang out. Rajan shut his eyes tightly the moment he heard it. After a brief, terrifying silence, he slowly opened his eyes — but by then, the person who had fired the shot had already fled. Rajan was so frightened that it felt like his heart would leap out of his mouth.

In contrast, Aarohi didn't even blink at the sound of the gunfire. Looking at her, it seemed like this was nothing new to her — as if such things couldn't faze her at all. The bullet hadn't hit Aarohi; instead, someone had shot the attacker's hand, causing him to escape to avoid being caught.

Manu turned to Aarohi and asked, "Boss, are you alright?"

Instead of replying to him, Aarohi changed the topic with a chilling tone, "Manveer, catch that bastard. I want him alive at any cost." A mysterious smile appeared on her face — the kind that made it seem like she already knew who was behind this (though you'll find out about that later).

Manu immediately took off after the shooter upon hearing Aarohi's command.

Aarohi, on the other hand, turned toward the darkness and called out, "Everyone, come out!"

From the shadows, a slim, beautiful girl stepped forward. She was the one Kapil had messaged to stay with Aarohi. She ran to Aarohi and hugged her tightly.

Gripping her tightly, the girl said, "Aaru, do you know… if I had been just two seconds late, he would've shot you! If you saw me, then you must've seen him too — why didn't you signal me?"

Aarohi didn't usually explain herself to anyone, but seeing Tanya upset, she responded calmly, "Tanya, I'm alright. I only realized what was happening when he loaded the gun."

While they were talking, Aarohi's personal guard team emerged from the shadows. They had come with Tanya. Their leader, Pasha — the one who fired at the attacker's hand — had already gone after him to capture him.

Aarohi glanced at them angrily and said, "I told everyone not to come here. So why didn't you follow my orders?" She was visibly upset, as she hated it when someone disobeyed her.

Everyone hung their heads. They already knew that people were stationed here in advance. But Tanya, worried about Aarohi, had told Pasha — and Pasha, who protected Aarohi like a shadow, could never leave her alone.

Aarohi shifted her gaze to Tanya and asked, "You were supposed to be at the office right now. What are you doing here? And how did you find out about this place? Don't tell me… Kapil told you?"

"Enough, Aaru! How many questions will you ask?" Tanya interrupted her. "We just saved your life and now you're interrogating us like a cop? You know I hate cops."

Aarohi rolled her eyes at her sister-like friend and partner. She knew Tanya was a total drama queen. Actually, the two girls knew everything about each other — they had grown up together.

So, let's get to know Aarohi Mathur...

Aarohi Mathur — the mysterious CEO of Mathur Industries — known only to a handful of people.

Aarohi was an orphan. Her mother had passed away when she was very young. She was raised by her grandmother (maternal) and a woman named Urmila. Though her Grandma is not in this world now.

Mathur Industries was her own company. She had built it from scratch through sheer hard work, following Aarohi to taking it to the level of a global giant.

Currently, Tanya is the public face of Mathur Industries because many people didn't even know Aarohi existed. Today, Aarohi had come here to save a child from her old orphanage. That place was close to her heart, as it had sheltered her during her darkest days. Urmila now managed the orphanage and lived with Aarohi and Tanya in the same villa.

As Tanya was urging her to return, Aarohi suddenly noticed Kapil standing in front of her. He looked scared — because he had overheard Aarohi's last comment and realized she had figured out that he was the one who leaked information to Tanya. He feared he'd be punished alone for the whole team's mistake.

Looking at his frightened face, Aarohi said flatly, "Kapil, you're supposed to be my secretary. But I think you've started reporting a bit too much to Tanya."

Kapil felt sweat bead on his forehead. He was convinced he was about to be sacrificed today.

Aarohi continued, practically giving him a heart attack, "I think you should just officially start reporting to Tanya. So now, you are her secretary."

Kapil was stunned.

He muttered to himself, "Is this the cruel punishment I'm getting? It would've been better if she'd just fired me."

At this point, working with Tanya felt worse than being unemployed. Tanya seemed like a completely bizarre creature to him. Forcing him to work under her was, in his mind, the worst punishment possible. He wiped the sweat from his brow and glanced at Tanya — who was smiling mischievously. Seeing that teasing smile, Kapil swallowed hard. Now, he'd have to deal with this strange woman.

He couldn't argue with Aarohi, so he silently followed both his bosses.

"Hey! What about me?" Rajan's voice rang out from behind.

Everyone stopped in their tracks.

Tanya smacked her forehead and said, "Oh God, we totally forgot about this specimen. What should we do with him now?"

Aarohi looked at Tanya and said, "I haven't forgotten. Since he enjoys throwing cold water on people, let's tie him up on ice and really cool him off."

Turning to the guards, she ordered, "Make sure he's tied up in ice until he's half-dead from the cold. If he acts smart, you can cut off his fingers."

Just hearing her words, Rajan began to feel a chill around him. The threat of losing his fingers froze him in place. He mentally cursed himself for opening his mouth.

Even Kapil and Tanya hugged their arms around themselves, feeling a sudden coldness. Aarohi then saw some of her team bringing in the ice and walked away.

Rajan, meanwhile, was left wondering what kind of Hitler-woman he had crossed paths with.

Tanya, clearly up to something, whispered something into a man's ear — her mischievous face practically glowing with mischief.

Kapil watched her bouncing around and muttered to himself — she already seemed weird, but now she looked like she belonged in an asylum. As Tanya walked away, Kapil chased after her and called out, "Second Boss, what did you just do?"

Tanya, casually looking over His shoulder, replied, "Darling Nothing Serious. Just thought it'd be fun to add a little itching powder for the fun."

Kapil's jaw dropped open in horror.

Why were both of his bosses so cruel and crazy? One wanted fingers chopped off, the other wanted to turn a man into a monkey with itching powder!
