Don found the question odd, the hesitation in Ash's voice sitting strangely against her usual blunt delivery.
He let the thought pass without comment, deciding he was probably reading more into the pause than was there.
"End of the week," he answered, tone even as he started walking again along the path.
The late sun warmed the back of his neck, salt air still clinging to his skin. "Until then, focus on your own training. If you can, try asking a senior at SHU for tutoring lessons. Let me know the price when you get one."
A short silence followed, broken only by the faint background noise on her end.
When she finally spoke again her agreement came hesitant, the words carrying a faint edge of reluctance even through the phone. "Fine. I'll… look into it."
He cut the call without further exchange and kept moving, the restaurant still a short distance ahead.
His next call connected almost immediately.
