Su Yubing's sword intent swept out in a silver arc so cold and sharp that the ground split beneath it. The wolf king twisted in midair, but one side of its body still burst open in a spray of black blood.
Mo Yuxin moved with less visible force and somehow even more terror. One moment she stood smiling; the next she was among the wolves, palm strikes dropping them like paper figures. Spiritual flames coiled along her fingers, burning away corrupt qi wherever they touched.
The battle lasted less than the time needed to boil tea.
The disciples barely got to participate.
When the last wolf fell twitching into the leaves, Mo Yuxin brushed dirt from her sleeve and looked around. "Done."
One disciple stared at the ruin around them. "That... that was incredibly fast."
Su Yubing flicked blood from her blade. "Too slow. The leader was unstable."
Mo Yuxin laughed. "My wife is saying it should have died in one move."
The disciples looked at one another and wisely kept silent.
