The room was silent as Renaud stood before the door, his serene smile on his face, observing the other people in the room. Demon's face could not be seen behind the covering, but he did not step forward or acknowledge others.
It was nothing unusual for Demon to ignore people.
The strange thing was his willingness to meet with people in broad daylight. Demon had always been a creature of the night, even before his face was carved up into pieces by that mad scientist, leaving him terribly scarred.
He also had a rebellious spirit that could not truly be tamed. He preferred to move around freely and mete out punishment to those he deemed too sinful to remain in the world. It was quite ironic that Demon was an avenging angel.
The person standing behind Renaud was different from the Demon Leila knew. He seemed almost meek. He looked like he would clutch the fabric of Renaud's outer robe like a child trying to hide from strangers.
