Leila did not leave the room as she did when Xavier called her. Instead, she answered the call with a simple 'yes' without any greeting or other preamble. She said it flatly to express her displeasure with Renaud.
As expected, Renaud was not repentant.
"Do not be like that," Renaud laughed.
"What do you want?" Leila asked.
"We are back in Lake City," Renaud said. "Are you free to meet up?"
Leila almost rolled her eyes at the 'we' because Renaud had absconded with Demon without her knowledge, only informing her after he disappeared. Now, he was acting as if they were just a couple of friends dropping by.
Leila wanted to tell him that she was busy with a meeting. However, when she saw Nicholas leaning to talk to Sister Purple, she got an idea. If the hypnosis technique Nicholas was using was related to cultivation, Renaud's yin-yang eyes could help.
"I am having lunch. You can join," Leila said before telling him the name of the restaurant.
