Chapter 56 - Chapter Fifty-six.

~~~Third Person~~~
~~~The Eight Realms, Asgard, Observatory~~~

Heimdall activated whatever it was that connected his sword to the Bifröst mechanism, activating it and causing the observatory to fill with endless colors of all kinds, with the great beam of colors splitting the darkness of space in two: "It is time to end an injustice", amid all the din caused by the Bifröst, Loki's sentence could be heard, soft and full of a tinge of sadness and longing he wanted to see his sister free from that hell.

The interdimensional portal, the mechanism that helped Asgard conquer the Nine Realms, was not only a channel to transport to any place using the branches of Yggdrasil, but it was also a weapon if the Bifröst was left open too long on a pose, it could break it in half.

Luckily, Heimdall knew what he was doing, and instead of using it as a weapon, he used it as a key, the colored light, traveling at the speed of light, did not take long to reach a desolate planet, consumed by darkness and sulfur, which upon reaching its atmosphere was forcibly stopped by an energy field, composed of several threads that joined the shield.

The shield, composed of the same energy that Odin used to create his shield when he faced the joint attack of the Wither, the Warden, and Endoxes on Xandar, resisted for a time the momentum of the Bifrost, like a needle pricking a balloon.

However, the Bifröst, a potent instrument, managed to break through the shield after several seconds of struggle, being suspended from Asgard after it had done its job. On the desolate planet, a black-eyed and well-built woman dressed in a dark, silver dress smiled as she watched the shield fall like pieces of burnt paper.

Hela, the inhabitant of Hell, had been released.

Thor had been exasperated, for more than a month he had not been drunk, he had not been to a party, and all the good things in life had stagnated for him.

His father had been badly injured after his fight with the Midgardian, going into a deep sleep to recover, though the royal healers had said his sleep was due to a serious curse. Still, the mystery was to find out how Odin earned that. But in part, it was due to the Warden's attack.

However, Asgard was not plunged into chaos thanks to Thor taking over as ruling king, at least while Odin was recovering, since then, Thor had been training harder than ever, to the point of exhaustion, as he knew dark times for Asgard were coming.

But today, all concern for life had vanished, instead, an energetic impulse coursed through his body, like an electric shock after an orgasm, Thor watched excitedly as the Bifröst retreated, having fulfilled its purpose.

"It's done, the barrier that kept Hela in Hell, has been destroyed," Heimdall commented serenely, not even caring about the fact that a possibly insane woman was freed, "well, what are you waiting for? Bring her with us," Loki, the more impatient one, could not help but lash out at Heimdall for not bringing Hela immediately.

Heimdall paid no attention to Loki, instead, he looked at Thor intently; "Prince Thor, Hela gets stronger the closer she gets to Asgard, bringing her here may backfire, I do not advise you to make me bring her immediately, you should go and try to reason with her, hopefully, she will be less angry and more open to talking peacefully, instead of murdering everyone who comes her way."

Thor didn't think twice and agreed; "very well, send me," he said, gripping Mjolnir tightly and standing at the end of the observatory, "let's get this over with once and for all."

Heimdall activated the Bifröst mechanism, and it sent Thor at unimaginable speeds into the middle of the cosmos, in the direction of Hell.

"PUUFFF!"

The Bifröst retreated and left a silhouette in the middle of the sea of desolation and death, Hell was rising in all its splendor, winds full of volcanic ash were passing strongly, dark mountains with lava and seas of ash falling from their summits were all the panorama that could be seen, and in the middle of all that, a throne made of obsidian was in front of Thor.

"You are not Odin", a soft and cold voice came from the throne, Thor approached and could see better than the person they said was his sister, sitting calmly on the big throne, with both legs on the right armrest, while with her arm was laying her left cheek, it gave the feeling that she was comfortable in a place like this.

"No, I am not him, I am his firstborn... I am Thor, prince of Asgard and god of Thunder," Hela laughed, not considering Thor's words, "so the old man wasted no time he has, yes... I see he has tried to replace me, he even gave you Mjolnir, how are your little one?" Hela turned to Thor's hammer, and surprisingly, Mjolnir responded, lightning crackling on it.

"Why are you surprised boy?" Hela said softly, rising from her throne and walking slowly towards Thor, "Odin has kept many things from you, you think you are his chosen one, but believe me, when you are no longer useful to him, and he thinks your aspirations surpass his, he will cast you off, banishment will be your reward."

Thor hardened his gaze, unmoved by Hela's words, "My father has made mistakes... I have made them, he locked you here, and I have freed you, not because I like you, I don't know you, but you are my family, and now more than anything, Asgard needs its gods."

Hela looked hard at Thor, studying his words, then sighed, "Now what has the old man done?" Hela asked, looking... Calm. "It's not what he's done, it's what I did," Thor said through his teeth, lightning crackling between his hands and his eyes glittered, it was clear he hadn't gotten over the fact that Odin was in the middle of a dream because of him.

"I was ignorant, impulsive, and selfish, in my eagerness for battle I did not measure my actions and my father had to intervene, and thanks to that, we are no longer the rulers of the Nine Realms, but Eight... Besides, father has been in a deep sleep for more than two moons now."

"Hahaha, yes you are a box of surprises, if I had known I had to do that from the beginning, I wouldn't have spent millennia locked up in this place," Hela said amidst laughter, though resentment could be heard between each line.

"I need you, you were once the spear of Asgard, and now more than anything, Asgard needs you, there are many enemies that are targeting Asgard, and if Asgard falls, so will you, all of them in fact, so Hela, goddess of Death and firstborn of Odin, are you willing to fight for Asgard? Protect it and murder even those who control this universe for seeing Asgard rise to what it once was?"

"Hahaha, you don't have to ask me," Hela readily agreed, and running her hands over her face and then her head, a black horned helmet appeared, and with it, the goddess of death.

Thor smiled, and looking up at the 'sky', called out to Heimdall, "We are ready, take us back!" However, the Bifröst did not appear, even after a minute, this worried Thor, who sensed something was wrong. "Something is wrong, Heimdall should have opened the Bifröst for us long ago."

"Then let's go to Asgard," Hela said simply, to which Thor just stared at her blankly, "without the Bifröst, we can't go to Asgard."

Hela sighed, "I can see why Asgard is so bad, how little have you learned," the goddess of death simply conjured a dark dagger, and with a slash through the air, a hole opened up in space, "and what are you waiting for? Come on," Hela turned and prompted Thor to move forward, seeing that Thor did not follow her into the portal.

Without further ado, Thor followed Hela to the portal, and as they crossed it, the sight took him by surprise, they appeared in the observatory of the Bifröst, but now the place was no longer with its previous characteristic calm, Asgardian soldiers were lying on the ground, Loki to one side held a blue box-like artifact that glowed, his skin was blue and looked like ice, Heimdall stood to one side frozen, with the sword that opened the Bifröst embedded in place as the Bifröst was open.

"Thor!" Heimdall managed to free his head from the ice, managing to speak, "Close the Bifröst!" Before Thro could act, thousands of black blades shot out and slammed into the sword, causing it to come out of its anchor and fall, and with that, the Bifröst to close.

"What the fuck happened! Thor asked upset, not understanding what had happened. Hela had subdued Loki, with Thor freeing Heimdall from the ice, "Prince Loki used the winter chest to subdue me and open the Bifröst, he directed it to Midgard... To destroy part of the realm where King Odin was wounded."

Thor, deciphering what was meant by what had provoked Loki's actions, could only process one word, as his countenance grew serious.

"War."
