After more than thirty years of marriage, Tian's father knew Tian's mother's temperament; when provoked, she could be quite fierce. Seeing her dragging a suitcase out the door, he worried she might get seriously upset. Besides, it was freezing cold outside, so he hurriedly called a driver to take her back to her parents' home.
After hanging up the phone, the driver quickly brought the car around, stopping Tian's mother who was about to hail a cab at the corner. He honked the horn, rolled down the window, and called out to her: "Madam, the master instructed me to take you back. Please get in the car first."
Tian's mother wasn't as strong as before, packing luggage and dragging it out left her quite exhausted. Now she no longer pretended to be strong, saying, "At least he has some conscience left."
