Fu Lun sent Xiaolian's parents off and returned to the ward. He came to the bedside and, having not had a chance to speak with her earlier, now felt inexplicably pained seeing her haggard appearance.
Yan Luoxi saw the two seemingly needing to talk and said, "It's almost dinner time. I'll go downstairs to buy some food, and you both can chat."
Just as she turned around, Xiaolian grabbed her wrist, causing her to grimace in pain, "Sister Yan, don't leave. I have nothing to discuss with him."
Yan Luoxi instinctively looked at Fu Lun. Fu Lun held Xiaolian's wrist and said in a low voice, "Xiaolian, let's talk."
Xiaolian gritted her teeth but released Yan Luoxi's wrist. She turned her head away as Yan Luoxi glanced at them before leaving the ward.
The room fell silent. Fu Lun tucked Xiaolian's hand under the blanket as he sat by the bed, "Did you hurt yourself earlier? Should I call a doctor to check on you?"
