( Ena's POV )
When the Azumi boss appeared I used my phone to analyze the demon and something strange came out as a result, this thing was something I hadn't seen before, a mutation, the name that appeared in the description was Azumi (Slime mutation) but before I could read more of the analysis the demon continued its attack.
More tentacles came and more tentacles we cut but it seemed like the supply of tentacles was endless.
Ena: No good, we're going to need reinforcements, call the others and tell them to come as soon as they can.
I threw my phone to Aigis as we retreated to the mall, that was the creature's base and I thought we'd have some security there but while the demon was attacking us, he didn't care if the building ended up in the crossfire.
Aigis had contacted the others and they replied that they were on their way but we needed to buy some time, I got on my ATV and while I was driving between the lagoons Aigis was sitting on the back of it while she was shooting, even when the others arrived, we would need an effective way to defeat the demon or at least slow it down enough for us to escape, I was watching the demon trying to find some weakness and I noticed something we could use.
The demon's head was protected by a layer of viscous slime and Aigis's bullets could not penetrate, every time we cut a tentacle two more appeared but that came at a cost, the layer of slime protecting the demon grew thinner although that was only noticeable after cutting a large number of tentacles, I turned around and parked next to the building.
Ena: Cover me from the ceiling, we have to keep cutting off their tentacles.
Aigis: Do you have a plan?
Ena: Yes, make sure you save a bullet and when I tell you to, shoot the demon in the head.
Aigis jumped onto the roof of the mall and I stayed on the ground, I closed my eyes and tried to use my own physical ability, my tattoo mark stretched along my arms and black particles gathered at the tip of my naginata, I took a swing and a black blade flew out of my naginata and cut off one of the tentacles, a very simple skill but that would do the trick.
Aigis and I protected the building where the teachers were while we cut the demon's tentacles but the more progress we made the demon grew more violent and at that moment the demon unleashed a bizarre sonic attack, the windows of the mall broke, my body froze for a moment and in that instant I was hit by a tentacle from my side.
Aigis: ENA!
I was thrown around like a rag doll hitting the ground repeatedly and I heard a worried scream from Aigis, I was disoriented and before I could recover I was grabbed by a tentacle, The solid interior of the tentacle was squeezing me hard and the slime, which had some acidic properties, melted some of my clothes and skin.
I tried to resist the pain and like other times when I was in danger, my unique ability was activated and I felt a surge of energy, a wave of energy came out of my body and I was freed from the demon's grip.
I landed without a problem, then I closed my eyes and concentrated on deactivating my ability, the constant use of it only left me with more severe side effects, besides, I didn't want to rely so much on that ability, it's not a guarantee of victory and I couldn't put the fate of others on it.
Ryuji: Hey man, the cavalry has arrived!!
When I needed help the most I heard the sound of an engine and Ryuji's voice making his entrance like a character in a movie, as soon as the others got out of Kyoko's car, Ann used her magic and with a little fire a tentacle caught fire completely.
Ann: Ena, what is that thing?
Ena: No time to explain, you and Io keep using your magic, Ryuji, help me cut the tentacles.
With all of us together and Ann having the most effective element against the mutant demon our strategy progressed rapidly, soon the demon's protective layer became thin enough and I made my move.
Ena: Aigis!!
I ran my energy through my naginata again but now I was covering it completely with energy, Aigis was also gathering her energy and before we attacked I felt a strange connection with Aigis, we were in sync and I felt my power multiplying, without saying another word we knew when to attack at the same time.
Aigis's bullet left a trail of black energy in its path and my naginata flew like an arrow at the same speed as Aigis's bullet.
Our attacks flew in an X-shaped path, the demon's defense was not enough to stop our attack and the demon ended up with some holes in his head but that was not all, the energy traces that our attack exploded and with that the mutant demon was finished.
The demon became a huge cloud of experience that was absorbed by us, I felt my power increasing as always but this time the mark on my face grew longer reaching the tips of my fingers on my right hand and it seems that this was going to be permanent, but that wasn't a big problem for me.
I went to inform the teachers that the danger had passed and we prepared to return to our base.
