This Fanfic is all about Danzo Shimura, known as the darkness of Konoha, a close friend of the Third Hokage, a student of the Second Hokage, loved by none and hated by almost everyone. He is also known as the legendary Fifth-and-a-Half Hokage and the great man who stabbed a Susanoo with a kunai.
After his death, Danzo watched Naruto Uzumaki's entire life, from beginning to end. While staying in the Pure Land, the land between life and death, or limbo, he reflected deeply on everything he had done during his lifetime.
Danzo thought that if he could do it all over again, he would change many things. Because of his actions, instead of making Konoha great, he had slowly destroyed the village from within.
As Danzo recalled his past mistakes, he remembered how he had failed to provide Root's support to Minato, isolated the Uchiha clan, participated in the massacre of the Uchiha, framed the White Fang, and eliminated many legendary shinobi who had the potential to become Hokage, all because he wanted a chance to claim that title for himself.
But now, after witnessing everything, he finally understood the consequences of his actions. He had seen every disaster that had struck the village and every life he had nearly destroyed.
Naruto was one of them. Instead of allowing the boy to have a good childhood, Danzo had helped create the miserable circumstances that made his early life so painful. He had also played a part in ruining the lives of Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan, turning their lives into a living nightmare.
Everything he had done in the name of becoming Hokage had only made things worse for the people of Konoha.
Now, after seeing the consequences of his actions, Danzo made a vow. If he were ever given another chance at life, he would become a better person and do everything in his power to make Konoha great again.
As these thoughts passed through Danzo's mind, someone else heard them.
It was Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Having just brought an end to the battle between Naruto and Sasuke and helped seal his mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki, Hagoromo had returned to the Pure Land. There, he came across Danzo Shimura and listened to his thoughts.
A faint smile appeared on Hagoromo's face.
Good. At least he has finally realized his mistakes.
Now, my plan might work. Other Otsutsuki will come in the future, and I will need someone with a cunning mind to deal with them. Someone who understands the darkness of the shinobi world and knows how to play the game from behind the scenes.
And who could be better suited for that role than Danzo Shimura himself?
