* living to an extent of survival you know can demoralise you, is the greatest failure a man can face. But who knows another great thing that can happen to a man is him rising back up and come out of the earthquake unharmed, even when everyone thought he'll die.*
* The ten of us stood high hill watching the beautiful Forest of the west. Covered in monster blood no one would believe the battle we fought to get this far.*
" How many kilometers from us and caiphas valley?" Ledger asked Bryce who's answer was the most mind threatening in the situation we stood.
" Not kilometers sir, we have about six miles to cover up before reaching caiphas valley."
" If that's so we need to move a lot faster before the day gets darker. I've heard stories about the ghost of caiphas valley and I tell you folks it's actually real " William said.
" Here comes the story telling soldier William Ballard " ledger said as we all started laughing.
Though it was a lot fun having some one like him around he keeps us a lot companies.
* We continued a long distance still holding strong riding to caiphas valley untill we got to a district called canden field *
" This doesn't look nice " Craig muttered audibly.
* The field was filled with cars and trucks leaving us dumbfounded.*
" Who conveyed all this?" Charles asked.
" According to the prison residents, they said there are locals who has been here longer than expected and doesn't want to be found " Craig said.
" So you are saying they killed anyone who tries finding them?" Bryce asked.
" Maybe yes maybe no " Craig answered.
* We started searching the field checking cars and other machines around the field *
" According to the facts about the ghost of caiphas valley it says noise should not be made in areas close to it, because it gets angry and may attack " William said.
" Are you still at this caiphas valley ghost?" Ledger asked.
" Yes it's important for us to follow the rules " he fired back making everyone laugh.
* We were still searching and listening to William's story when a flare was fired up making everyone anticipating and staging positions across the field.*
" What the hell was that?" I asked.
Everyone kept quiet.
" Am sorry everyone, my bad just checking if the god-damned antique still works " Laura shouted.
" That's not funny angry girl " William shouted.
" Incoming.., they are coming " yusef screamed running down to us.
" We have armour we can take them " ledger said.
Immediately he said that the ground began to quake, and with a sound like that I could tell those aren't regulars those were a huge magnitude of monsters heading our way.
" Run back to the truck!" Craig ordered as we scattered around and we're running to safety.
We ran down to the truck and was about driving off when we saw them before we could move their thorns like pins started shooting at us piercing the tires, we had to use our legs.
" Shoot back!" Craig ordered.
We were running and shooting. This is war there's no room for survival without killing something or someone.
We kept running untill they closed in at us, we had to stop and forge a temporary boundary shooting back at them.
" Don't let them get close " ledger yelled.
* I was still shooting when one of the monster flanked me almost gutting my head out when Ava pushed me down. It's fangs were inches away from our heads. William shot it down.
" Are you alright are..." Was the last word I heard from William Ballard, his head was chewed off by another raging beast.
" Run, let's get the hell out of here " Craig ordered before he could get up the pin pierced his throat. We were down to eight men or should I say six men and two women, we continued running and shooting until we ran out of armour.
" What now? Am out " Bryce said.
" Bryce... tell June... I love her " yusef said as he stopped and started running towards the incoming man eating beasts.
" No yusef " Bryce yelled.
Looking closely he was holding a war bang, it's not a regular bomb.
" Down " ledger shouted before the bomb went off.
I was already on the ground before it blew, and when it was over, the front line monsters were dead buying us a window of time.
" Get up and let's move " ledger shouted as he started running, we all immediately followed him.
" How many miles left bryce?" Ledger asked while we were running.
" I think we are here " Bryce replied.
The moment Bryce said those words we all stopped.
" Is this the best place to stop now?" I asked while trying to catch my breath.
" There " Charles said pointing down the slopes. And he was right there is a town down there.
* We ran with the thought to see someone or troops of our own, only reaching there to see an abandoned town. The houses were growing trees the roads were no different from bushes.*
" Don't tell me we came all the way here for an abandoned town looking for people who may be dead " ledger said in annoyance.
" Are you sure this is caiphas valley?" I asked.
" Yes, it was " a voice from the roof top answered, i raised my head only to see the mask Man who sits on trees.
" Maximilian " Laura called out making him remove his mask and jumping down to give her a hug.
" Are you one of the watchdogs that came along this routes?" Ledger asked.
" Yes " he answered.
" Please don't say you are the only one remaining " Bryce pleaded.
" The rest are not here, I came here when I heard the explosion, is it you guys?" He replied with a question.
" Does it matter?" Ledger said to him.
" We need to see the lieutenant max " Laura said to him.
" Follow me " he said as we all followed him behind the town.
" We have to find a blindspot to keep us safe from this monsters " he said as he and Laura were busy having a conversation.
" Tell me Charles is he her boyfriend?" I asked Charles who was walking beside me.
" No dude, he is her brother " he answered which gave me an insight of why she has an attitude of dispair towards everyone.
" Look who I found Harvey " max declared to the lieutenant as we came in.
The lieutenant stood up and was shocked when he saw ledger.
" I can't believe I an seeing the members of the war soldiers alive " he said.
" Neither do I think a watchdog will wander into the bliss of the west " ledger replied as they both hugged each other laughing.
" Where is everyone?" I was troubled seeing fifteen men all cheering us at our arrival, when indeed there were over thirty men who set route for caiphas valley.
" We thought it was the heart but it wasn't, if not for this blindspot we all would have been dead " the lieutenant replied.
" Glad to see you are okay, are we still going with the plan?" Bryce asked.
" No Bryce the heart have to wait " ledger replied.
* Meeting up with the people you know and sharing insight of what you've encountered to each other is a kind of thrilling experience I don't think I will ever have. I looked up to the sky and gave out a sigh of worry, asking myself, what about the Eastern troops and mostly the north, is the war on our side?, because to what I've seen in the west, though the monsters are dangerous but they don't seem many as they should be, I think other places are facing the worse.*
