Chapter 863 - Chapter 863: Sending You Into the Sun

When it came to shifting blame onto others, William had always been a natural expert.

After all, he had already decided that after today, he would change the color of his Mark armor.

This red-and-gold color scheme could go back to Tony Stark—it belonged to him anyway.

Speaking of which, he'd also need to adjust the colors and functions of his mother's Mark V portable suit.

If the X-series Sentinel armor worked out, then aside from the nanosuit Mark 50, the rest could be retired to secondary roles.

---

Seeing that William was zoning out, completely ignoring both her attacks and insults, Carol finally gave up.

She crossed her arms and demanded impatiently,

"Tell me your plan now.

If I don't like it, maybe you should never go home again."

William glanced at her cracking her knuckles, a menacing expression on her face, and just grinned nonchalantly.

"If you like staying at my place, that's fine with me."

"F you, William Devonshire!"

Having no way to deal with this shameless bastard, Carol could only curse him out before ignoring him completely.

Feeling that he had teased her enough, William sighed and made a few hand gestures—

Dragging Carol into the Mirror Dimension.

Feeling cut off from the energy of the cosmos, Carol frowned and asked in surprise,

"This is magic?

And if I wasn't paying attention, I wouldn't even notice I was trapped?"

"Mirror Dimension, a spatial magic," William explained.

"Once activated, it pulls you into a parallel subspace that mirrors reality.

Nothing that happens here affects the real world.

It's where we mages fight, trap, and banish enemies."

"Trap and banish?"

Carol suddenly remembered her instinctive sense of danger about William.

Was it because of this spatial magic?

Growing wary, she asked, "How does trapping and banishing work?"

William smirked.

"If you can't break through this dimensional space or use teleportation magic,

Then as long as I want, you'll be stuck here forever.

No food. No water. No energy absorption.

Tell me, Carol—how long do you think you'd survive here?"

"Hah, I don't know how long I'd last," Carol scoffed.

"But I do know one thing—

If this place is smaller than the universe, smaller than a solar system or even Earth,

Then I refuse to believe its dimensional walls can withstand a light-speed impact."

William shook his head.

"You're not wrong," he admitted.

"But against you, I don't need to rely on the walls.

If you dare to break the speed of light,

All I have to do is layer multiple dimensions on top of each other—

You'd disappear into the time stream before I even lifted a finger.

You'd either fall into the past or shoot into the future.

And just like that, your presence in this timeline would vanish,

Leaving zero threat to me."

"…"

Carol wanted to argue, but she wasn't reckless enough to test this theory.

Unhappy, she grumbled,

"Fine. You brought me here because you don't want others overhearing.

So just spit it out already."

Seeing that she wasn't going to recklessly try light-speed travel, William secretly sighed in relief.

If she had attempted it, he wouldn't have been fast enough to react in time.

And even if he could, the space itself wouldn't retract fast enough to keep up with her speed.

He gestured toward the Dagger of Set, and it disappeared from Carol's hand, reappearing midair between them.

"You—!"

Carol's brow furrowed as she looked at her now empty palm.

Before she could get angry, the dagger floated back to her, within easy reach.

"See the indentation at the base of the dagger?" William pointed.

Carol had already noticed it—it was too obvious to miss.

William continued,

"The dagger is missing a large red gemstone infused with Set's power.

Once it's found, all it takes is stabbing someone with this blade, and Set can forcefully descend onto Earth."

"Wait…"

Carol's expression turned odd as she narrowed her eyes at William.

"Don't tell me…

You actually plan to stab someone with the complete dagger, summon Set, and then kill him?"

William shrugged.

Carol's expression darkened.

"Who are you expecting to sacrifice their life for this plan?"

"Ahmanet."

Seeing her displeasure, William immediately dismissed any lingering thoughts of admiration toward her.

This woman was too self-righteous.

If he so much as touched her, it would mean endless moral debates and constant fighting.

The trouble simply wasn't worth it.

With those thoughts gone, William's tone shifted, treating her purely as a tool.

But outwardly, he maintained his usual warm demeanor.

"By injecting Set's power into Ahmanet,

They'll turn against each other, fighting to consume each other's souls.

No matter who wins,

If we kill them, Set's loss of power will leave him vulnerable in his own realm.

Other demon gods will immediately start targeting him.

Best case scenario? Set is permanently erased from existence."

Carol seemed tempted, but she still hesitated.

"But… what if we can't kill Set after he descends?"

William smirked.

"You already know I have spacecraft, right?"

Carol nodded.

"Then here's the plan," William explained.

"We freeze Ahmanet in a low-temperature mercury stasis pod.

Take her aboard a ship.

Fly far beyond the solar system, into a desolate star system, and release Set there.

If we fail, I'll teleport both of us back to Earth.

And Set? He can play in the sand all by himself."

Carol burst into laughter.

"Or better yet," she added, eyes gleaming,

"Let's lock him in a ship and send it straight into a star.

Let the heat and radiation burn him to a crisp."

"Brilliant!"

William's eyes lit up.

Instantly adapting the plan, he added,

"And just in case—

I've learned an exorcism spell from the Sorcerer Supreme.

Once activated, it forcibly banishes the target back to its own realm.

To be extra safe, we can time the banishment so that Set gets dragged straight into a star."

Carol liked the idea, but still had doubts.

"You sure you can actually pull off that spell?"

"Of course!" William said confidently.

"Give me some time, and I'll perfect it.

As for success rate?"

William, who had already mastered the spell, rubbed his chin thoughtfully, pretending to consider it.

"Once I have it ready, you just stab Ahmanet,

And while Set is still fighting for control over her body,

We banish him before he can fully establish his power."
