Chapter 661 - Chapter 661: A New God? A Direct Beatdown

Leaping into action, Marcus, who had just evolved and felt invincible, ignored the ultraviolet bullets fired by the robots. With both hands, he grabbed one robot's head and twisted it forcefully.

"Crack." A loud noise followed as the robot collapsed. Its neck snapped, and sparks of electricity and flames danced around its severed head.

"Hahaha, hahaha!"

Spreading his bat-like wings, Marcus held the robot's head in one hand and burst into maniacal laughter.

In just moments, the bullets embedded in his body were pushed out by his muscles, and his wounds healed completely in just a few breaths.

"Yes, that's it, this is power! Hahaha, power! Father, do you see it? Do you see it? I will ascend to godhood!"

The surrounding robots seemed momentarily intimidated by him, halting in their tracks and standing motionless.

Just as Marcus thought his previous display had frightened the robots into submission, a mechanical voice rang out from their systems. "Target unaffected by ultraviolet bullets. Switching combat mode. Transitioning... Transition complete."

"Clang!"

The sound of blades being unsheathed echoed. Before Marcus could finish reveling in his boastful declarations, he saw seven or eight robots near him spring into action.

With red-glowing eyes, they extended blades from their arms or unsheathed swords from their backs. Without fear or hesitation, they rushed at Marcus again.

In that moment, Marcus truly understood the meaning behind Alexander's earlier words.

These were mindless, fearless killing machines. They would not stop until their target was completely annihilated.

Seeing the robots charging at him from all directions, Marcus instinctively tried to escape into the air. Spreading his bat wings, he pushed off with his legs, soaring upwards.

But before he could ascend more than five or six meters, one of the robots leaped up and grabbed his leg.

Two more robots jumped immediately after, clutching onto the first robot's legs in an effort to drag Marcus down.

In just two seconds, the remaining robots began climbing up the ones suspended mid-air, forming a chain toward Marcus.

As he looked at the gleaming blades and the glowing red eyes staring at him with cold determination, Marcus felt an overwhelming sense of dread.

At this point, it was no longer a question of whether he could escape. If he couldn't break free from these relentless war machines soon, he would be completely overwhelmed by the mechanical tide.

"Get off me! Get off!"

Unable to shake them off, Marcus gathered all his strength, flapping his bat wings furiously as he slammed into a nearby crane.

"Boom!"

The collision sent a loud shockwave through the structure. Marcus tumbled and rolled across the shipyard platform. Before he could even sit up, he grabbed one of the robots clutching onto him and twisted its neck, snapping it off.

However, he failed to anticipate that the robot's other hand, holding a blade, would stab directly into his stomach without any hesitation.

"Ahhh!"

Feeling the blade pierce through his abdomen, Marcus didn't have time to think. He grabbed the now-headless robot and flung it wildly in all directions.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The flailing body of the robot knocked several approaching machines away. Glancing around, Marcus saw more and more robots climbing onto the platform from the sides of the ship.

A quick scan revealed at least twenty of them. The thought of escape surged in his mind once again. At that moment, Marcus's courage completely crumbled.

The urge to flee filled his thoughts. If he didn't escape now, even if he managed to destroy these robots, who knew how many more would appear?

"Rat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat!"

Robots farther away from him opened fire as soon as they reached the platform. The ones closer to him leapt forward without hesitation, not caring if they were hit by the bullets from their own side.

"By the Blood God!"

Marcus swung the robot he was holding like a weapon, smashing two others that had approached him. He watched in disbelief as one robot, despite being hit by over a dozen bullets, seemed completely unharmed.

Desperately, he fought while retreating toward the bow of the ship.

Taking more wounds—a few slashes and an unknown number of bullet hits—he finally reached the ship's edge. Leaping off the side, he dove into the sea.

The moment he hit the water, a robot lunged at him, wrapping its arms around him. "Splash!" They both sank into the ocean.

Almost immediately, the robots standing on the bow hesitated for just half a second before diving in after him, pursuing Marcus as he sank toward the seabed.

William, who was watching the entire scene, suddenly gave an order. "Prohibit the robots from damaging Marcus's bat wings underwater."

"Understood, sir," came the reply.

Selene, who was watching nervously, and Nissa, who had just arrived after receiving a call, both asked in unison, "Why?"

Without turning his head, William explained, "If Marcus escapes along the seabed, it will be almost impossible to track him. The only way to ensure we don't lose him is to force him to fly. Once he's in the air, the Black Blade drones will be able to track him effortlessly. That guy's flight speed is only about 200 kilometers per hour. Even the spherical detectors can keep up with him, let alone the delta-wing aircraft, which can reach speeds of 600 to 700 kilometers per hour. My goal now is to let him lead us to the Lycanthrope progenitor so we can capture them all in one strike."

Thanks to William's quick command, Marcus narrowly avoided being destroyed underwater.

With a calculated show of mercy, it wasn't long before a figure shot out from the sea hundreds of meters away. It was Marcus, furiously flapping his bat wings as he skimmed over the ocean's surface in a desperate escape.

The aerial vehicles tracking him followed high in the sky.

Back at the scene of the battle, Alexander Corvinus, who had been thrown to the ground and impaled by shattered glass, sighed with relief when he saw Marcus escape. However, as he coughed up blood, despair filled his heart when he felt his pierced heart.

Speaking to the battle robots guarding him, he said weakly, "I need to see William Devonshire immediately. Hurry. I won't last much longer."

A beam of light shot out from one of the battle robots' eyes, and a holographic image of William appeared before Alexander.

"Speak," William said, nodding.

"Do me a favor, William," Alexander said weakly.

"Go on," William replied.

"Kill Marcus for me. He's completely insane. If he releases my Lycanthrope son, also named William, humanity will once again face the tide of death that swept through 600 years ago. And with today's population density, the disaster will be even more catastrophic."

"Done." This time, William didn't hesitate or bargain.

If a Lycanthrope outbreak truly occurred, even if it could be quelled, Europe would likely be devastated in the process.

Glancing at Selene and Nissa behind William, Alexander spoke in a low voice. "I'm dying. If you know how valuable my blood is to the vampires, you'd better get here within half an hour. You might just receive a gift from me."

As soon as he finished speaking, William waved his hand, creating a portal that appeared in the vampire manor.

He turned to Selene and Nissa. "The two of you, go together."

The two women obediently stepped through the portal, only to find themselves inside a truck. Looking at the portal, which had now closed behind them, they exchanged glances. Just as they were about to step out of the truck, another portal appeared. This time, they arrived at Alexander's side.

At the same time, a shadow darted through the portal into the truck's cargo hold.

"Ha, disappointed, aren't you?"

William grinned knowingly. He had been on guard against Alexander, fully aware that an ancient being who had lived for over a thousand years would not be so simple to deal with.
