The Ursus Imperial Guards, also known as the "Blades of Ursus," are one of the primary forces that Ursus uses to intimidate other nations. By integrating fragments of demons into their bodies, they not only gain immense strength but also wield the unique powers of those demons. Even killing them comes at a great cost, often resulting in heavy losses for the attacker.
This is largely due to their signature ability, "Nation." The phrase "Where my feet stand is the great land of Ursus" is one of their mottos and a symbol of their "Nation" ability. While killing an Imperial Guard might be straightforward, dealing with the aftermath—specifically, the demonic contamination they leave behind—is an entirely different matter. The pollution caused by demons is not easily dealt with.
For example, the Ural Great Rift is said to be a place where many Imperial Guards have died, and now it is completely devoid of life, both human and animal. If Daniel had access to the Mirror Dimension, this wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, he hasn't completed that yet.
"I don't know how much you know about the Imperial Guards, but if it's not necessary, it's best not to provoke them." Kal'tsit gave her answer from two perspectives.
When it came to understanding the Ursus Imperial Guards, Kal'tsit far surpassed Daniel. If several Imperial Guards were to die in Chernobog, the consequences would be severe—not just because of the demonic contamination they would leave behind, but also because of the reaction from Ursus.
The death of several Imperial Guards would not go unnoticed by Ursus, even if those guards were suspected of betraying the current Ursus Emperor. After all, these were Imperial Guards, not just ordinary soldiers.
If things escalated, it could lead to a large-scale conflict. While Daniel's strength might make him unafraid of Ursus, a war would inevitably draw in innocent civilians. Rhodes Island had always sought to avoid large-scale conflicts, especially those that involved ordinary people.
Daniel nodded noncommittally at Kal'tsit's explanation. While he agreed with Rhodes Island's philosophy, that didn't mean he would always act according to their principles.
Rhodes Island operated cautiously because they lacked the strength to do otherwise. When Daniel was weaker, he had been even more cautious than Rhodes Island. But now that he had sufficient strength, while caution was still necessary, he didn't need to be overly timid.
"I have a question. Since you can see the future, did I manage to kill Theresis?" W suddenly spoke up, her expression filled with anticipation for Daniel's answer.
"I really don't know about that. As I said earlier, I only know parts of the future. But Theresis has the Confessarius by his side, so it would be difficult for you to kill him."
The Confessarius was an organization similar to the Imperial Guards and the Royal Guards, with each member being exceptionally powerful. Just look at Shining—she was a former member of the Confessarius.
"However, I do know something related to you. Theresis has been trying to deal with Rhodes Island, or more accurately, Amiya." After a moment of thought, Daniel decided to share what he knew.
"What does he want to do?" It wasn't Kal'tsit who spoke, but W.
"I'm not entirely sure of the specifics, but I know that Theresis and the Confessarius are planning to use Theresa's body for something. It might be an attempt to reclaim the power of the Demon King."
Daniel wasn't entirely sure of Theresis's goals, but based on his knowledge, it seemed likely that he was after the power of the Demon King. Theresis was no longer ruling Kazdel but had instead become the Regent of Victoria, likely because he didn't possess the power of the Demon King himself.
Speaking of which, Daniel was curious about why Theresa's body was in Theresis's hands. After all, Theresa had died on Rhodes Island.
"Kazdel curses!" As soon as Daniel finished speaking, W couldn't help but roar in anger. As Theresa's number one fan, Theresis's actions had completely crossed W's bottom line.
After Theresa's death, W had hunted down everyone who might have betrayed the Princess in her quest for revenge.
"Sister Theresa..." Amiya looked down at the ten rings on her hands, her expression somber.
"Amiya, calm down. W, you too."
"I'm going to kill him. I have to kill him." W ignored Kal'tsit, muttering the words over and over. If not for her years of experience as a mercenary keeping her calm, she might have already rushed off to confront Theresis.
W wasn't afraid of death, but she was afraid that even her death wouldn't be enough to kill Theresis. At the very least, she wanted to take him down with her.
"W, you don't need to be so agitated. Once I finish dealing with things here, I can retrieve Theresa's body for you."
Whatever Theresis planned to do with Theresa's body, Daniel wouldn't let him succeed. This wasn't just for W's sake, but for Amiya's as well.
"You... you're willing to help?" W's expression turned serious when it came to Theresa.
"Of course. For me, it's just a small matter. Besides, I can't let the little bunny be sad." Daniel was confident about this, not just because of his strength, but also because Theresis was a politician. For such people, everything was negotiable.
"Thank you, Mr. Shen." Having witnessed Daniel's strength, Amiya's expression brightened slightly.
"No need to be so polite. Now, let's talk about Oripathy. That's the biggest issue at hand." Daniel turned his gaze to Kal'tsit and continued, "Dr. Kal'tsit, would you be interested in collaborating to solve Oripathy?"
"How would we collaborate?" Kal'tsit was naturally interested in solving Oripathy, as was everyone else in the room except for Nian.
"Actually, I'm also a doctor. Since coming to this world, I've done some research on Oripathy and have some ideas on how to treat it. In fact, using my unique abilities, Oripathy can even be completely cured. I can demonstrate this. W, come here."
Daniel gestured for W to come over. After a moment of hesitation, W walked up to him and said, "You're not going to treat my Oripathy here, are you?"
"Of course."
To the astonishment of everyone in the room, Daniel waved his hand and sliced W into more than a dozen pieces, leaving only her head intact.
"What the hell is this?" W's head floated in mid-air, her expression one of shock.
"Treating your Oripathy. Room, scan." Just as he had done with FrostNova, Daniel used his "Room" ability to extract all the Originium crystals from W's body. At the same time, he removed the visible Originium crystals on her body using the Ope Ope no Mi.
"This is amazing."
While Kal'tsit, Amiya, and the Doctor were stunned, Nian curiously picked up W's head and examined it closely.
"Stop that! Kazdel curses!" Despite W's protests and even calling Nian an old woman, Nian paid no attention.
"Done."
Daniel reassembled W's body but left her head detached, tossing it to Kal'tsit, Amiya, and the Doctor. The three of them had clearly been intrigued by Nian's actions.
"I never thought there was an Originium Art like this."
Looking at the Originium fragments extracted from W's body, the Doctor was visibly excited. It was well known that the most painful and fatal aspects of Oripathy were largely internal. If there was a way to remove the Originium fragments from the body, the condition of the infected would undoubtedly improve significantly.
"Hey, didn't you say it could be completely cured?"
W, now with her head reattached, glared at Daniel. She, W, a renowned mercenary who struck fear into the hearts of many, had now become the subject of ridicule.
"I have a theory that it can be done, but I haven't conducted any real experiments yet. Once I confirm it's feasible, I'll cure your Oripathy."
"W, come with me." After W was restored, Kal'tsit immediately stood up, her expression serious. Faced with such a Kal'tsit, W surprisingly didn't argue and followed her. The group then returned to Rhodes Island's medical department, where Kal'tsit personally examined W's body.
"Kal'tsit, what are you doing?" Shining, who was in the medical department, looked at Kal'tsit's actions in surprise, but Kal'tsit didn't respond.
"Blood Originium Crystal Density is almost zero."
There were two indicators for Oripathy: Blood Originium Crystal Density and Cell-Originium Assimilation Rate. One was internal, the other external.
As an infected individual, W's Blood Originium Crystal Density couldn't possibly be zero. The fact that it was now zero was the result of Daniel removing all the Originium crystals from her body.
"Don't worry, you won't feel a thing."
After verifying W's condition, Kal'tsit immediately had Amiya undergo the treatment. Amiya's infection was quite severe, though as the Demon King, even at this level of infection, it wouldn't be fatal—just like Theresa in the past.
"I didn't expect Amiya to have so many crystals on her body."
In terms of assimilation rate, Amiya's was slightly higher than W's, which was somewhat surprising to Daniel. W was a mercenary who frequently used Originium Arts on the battlefield, but Amiya wasn't in such a situation.
"How do you feel?" Seeing Amiya restored, Kal'tsit immediately asked with concern.
"Much better, Dr. Kal'tsit." Amiya smiled, her rabbit ears twitching involuntarily.
"I don't need it. My condition isn't serious." Although Amiya didn't finish her sentence, Kal'tsit understood her meaning—to have Daniel treat her as well. But Kal'tsit's situation was different from Amiya's and many others. Oripathy didn't threaten her life.
"Shining, bring Nightingale here." After rejecting Amiya's suggestion, Kal'tsit immediately spoke to Shining, who was still stunned by Daniel's abilities.
"Nightingale, I understand." Shining quickly realized what was happening. In terms of the severity of Oripathy, Nightingale was one of the few severely affected patients on Rhodes Island.
"Amiya, contact Eyjafjalla and have her return as soon as possible." After Shining hurried off, Kal'tsit instructed Amiya.
"Miss Eyjafjalla, I understand."
Eyjafjalla, also known as "Little Sheep," was a powerful caster in the game. However, in reality, she was a scholar and a Catastrophe researcher. Although she possessed formidable Originium Arts capable of instantly melting a large rock, she never appeared on the front lines.
Rhodes Island had a significant number of Catastrophe Messengers and Catastrophe experts, as the landship needed to be constantly on the move and prepared for Catastrophes.
In Terra, Catastrophes were as unpredictable as the weather in the Grand Line of the One Piece world. Without skilled Catastrophe experts, it was easy to accidentally sail into a Catastrophe.
This was similar to the role of a navigator in the Grand Line—a position of great responsibility, as a single mistake could lead to the entire crew's demise. Many pirate crews in the Grand Line had been wiped out due to weather-related issues.
However, as a Catastrophe expert, Eyjafjalla had rather bad luck. In fact, this was the fate of most Catastrophe experts and messengers. Constantly venturing into Catastrophe-prone areas made infection almost inevitable. Unfortunately, Eyjafjalla's Oripathy had severely affected her hearing.
Even with hearing aids, she often struggled to hear clearly, leading to many misunderstandings. The Originium crystals around her ears made it difficult for even Kal'tsit to stabilize her condition, let alone provide further treatment. Daniel's abilities could now solve this problem.
However, she wasn't currently on Rhodes Island, reportedly off studying a volcano.
Shining soon brought Nightingale, accompanied by Nearl the Radiant Knight. Nightingale was mostly supported by Nearl as she walked.
Due to Oripathy and experiments, Nightingale's legs had been severely eroded by Originium, and she had also lost much of her memory.
"Nearl the Radiant Knight, Six-Star Medic Nightingale, and Shining—these two together are known as the Black and White Demons. Unfortunately, I never managed to pull any of them in the game."
In terms of treatment, Nightingale was exceptionally skilled, especially with her ability to increase Arts resistance—an effect that seemed irreplaceable in the game. In reality, Nightingale's Originium Arts were even more impressive.
"Sanctuary," Nightingale's Originium Art, could buffer enemy Originium Arts attacks, significantly slowing them down. In a way, it was like a domain.
The powerful individuals of Terra's various races were formidable even in Daniel's eyes, especially those at the top. For example, Nearl the Radiant Knight could summon golden light, and the "I am my own Khan" individual could, if they advanced further, achieve something akin to a mental domain.
In other words, it was similar to the awakening of a Zoan-type Devil Fruit, and even a Mythical Zoan at that.
Theoretically, all races in Terra could be considered Zoan-type Devil Fruit users, with some being ordinary Zoans and others Mythical Zoans.
"Can you treat her?"
"Don't worry. At the very least, I can ensure she can move freely."
Seeing the concern on Shining and Nearl's faces, Daniel smiled and nodded. With a wave of his right hand, the Black and White Flower appeared in his hand, emitting a warm, white light that enveloped Nightingale's legs.
While he could have used his Shuang Quan Shou ability to treat Nightingale's legs—and perhaps take the opportunity to touch her fair, delicate legs—Daniel was a gentleman and wouldn't take advantage of the situation.
As for testing the effects of the Black and White Flower, that was just an excuse.
