Chapter 624 - Chapter 626: The Divine Beast, Absolute God (Part 3)

"Die."

Seeing the masked man before him remain completely unresponsive to his words, Absolute No God immediately flew into a rage. On Eastern Island, he was a figure above ten thousand others. Even the emperor of Eastern Island didn't dare defy him. Upon coming to the Central Plains, he slaughtered martial legends and captured sect leaders from the Eight Great Sects, swiftly positioning himself as the soon-to-be supreme ruler of the martial world. Now, someone dared to stand against him, even killing his son, Absolute Heart. In this moment, Absolute No God resolved to ensure that the person before him would meet a gruesome end.

As he spoke, Absolute No God clenched his right fist, gathering immense qi and murderous intent into it. His move was none other than the deadly technique he had used to build his reputation over the years: the Killing Fist.

As the Killing Fist emerged, a powerful aura of murderous intent instantly permeated the air. For ordinary people, just feeling this overwhelming intent would be enough to make their hearts quake with fear.

Facing Absolute No God's all-out killer move, Daniel Davis's right hand emitted a dark sheen—this was Armament Haki. Over the years, Daniel had mastered Armament Haki to an extraordinary degree, able to control its flow throughout his body with the ease of manipulating qi or magic.

This was an advanced application of Armament Haki, a technique the Straw Hat Pirates only learned in the Land of Wano. By channeling Haki in this way, it didn't just enhance attack power but also greatly increased defense. For example, the Haki on Daniel's right arm seemed stationary on the surface, but in reality, it flowed in an extremely slow cycle.

In terms of training, while Daniel had learned many disciplines, he always focused on certain key areas. Early on, he abandoned chakra cultivation. Instead, he focused on the magic of Kamar-Taj and physical combat techniques. Over time, he maintained his training in the two types of Haki and Nen, reaching their near-limits. After arriving in the world of Storm Riders, where martial arts were highly advanced, he also began to focus slightly more on cultivating qi.

Boom!

The golden fist of Absolute No God collided with Daniel's blackened fist. The tremendous force from their clash created a thunderous roar, causing the entire plaza of the World Society to shake uncontrollably.

The ground within a radius of dozens of meters around them collapsed from the impact, scattering debris and shockwaves that carried chunks of shattered earth. The piercing whistle of the flying rubble spread in all directions. Even the ghost warriors who had retreated to the edge of the plaza couldn't avoid being affected—many were knocked down.

"Careful!" Breaking Army rushed to shield Yan Ying, shattering the debris flying their way with a powerful palm strike.

"Let's go." Without delay, Breaking Army grabbed Yan Ying's shoulder and quickly retreated. Yan Ying didn't understand martial arts and couldn't grasp the gravity of the clash, but Breaking Army could see it clearly. In that single exchange, Absolute No God's Invincible Golden Body had cracked under the force of Daniel's black fist.

Breaking Army understood the significance of this. Absolute No God's Invincible Golden Body was unable to withstand the opponent's strength. Having fought Absolute No God before, Breaking Army was well aware of the Golden Body's power. The only reason he couldn't reclaim Yan Ying was because of this seemingly invincible defense. Now that it was broken, Absolute No God was in grave danger. Even if Breaking Army stepped in to assist, it wouldn't change the outcome—besides, he had no intention of helping Absolute No God.

In fact, if the masked man could eliminate Absolute No God, Breaking Army would be deeply grateful. The ultimate move he gained in exchange for Yan Ying, the "Killing Wolf," hadn't helped him achieve victory against Nameless, leaving him disheartened. Recently, Breaking Army's ambition for fame and fortune had waned significantly, leaving Yan Ying as his sole attachment.

"How is this possible?" As Breaking Army prepared to leave with Yan Ying, Absolute No God was filled with disbelief. He had always been supremely confident in his Invincible Golden Body. On Eastern Island, not even the emperor could break it—though Absolute No God didn't realize the emperor had been feigning weakness. In truth, the emperor's strength far surpassed his own.

The first time Absolute No God's Invincible Golden Body failed him was against Nameless. Even then, Nameless had used pinpoint precision with sword energy to exploit a specific weakness, shattering the Golden Body and injuring Absolute No God. But this time, the masked man had crushed his Killing Fist and Invincible Golden Body head-on with sheer overwhelming power.

"Ah!"

Unable to accept this reality, Absolute No God roared and launched the second technique of his Killing Fist. The Killing Fist comprised only three moves, but despite their simplicity, their power was terrifying.

The three moves were Killing Intent, Killing God, and Killing All. The second move, Killing God, was specifically designed to target immensely powerful martial artists, such as Nameless, a living martial legend. The third move, Killing All, was a mutually destructive technique akin to the Sword Saint's Sword Twenty-Three, which allowed one's spirit to leave their body. Unfortunately, in the original story, Absolute No God never had a chance to use it because his son poisoned him.

Boom!

However, this time, Absolute No God didn't get the chance to use Killing All either. In fact, even Killing God was interrupted halfway through. Daniel struck him square in the chest with a powerful punch, and the golden light of the Invincible Golden Body shattered instantly.

Absolute No God spewed a mouthful of blood as his body flew backward more than a hundred meters, crashing into the World Society's main hall.

"Master!" Seeing their leader sent flying, many of the ghost warriors rushed toward the hall. Others charged at Daniel, attempting to stop him.

"You court death." Daniel showed no mercy to these ghost warriors. With a wave of his right hand, an overwhelming chill swept across the entire plaza. In an instant, all the ghost warriors present were turned into ice sculptures. Then, in a flash, Daniel appeared inside the main hall.

"So this is all you've got, yet you dare invade the Central Plains? How disappointing."

Inside the hall, Daniel saw Absolute No God, pale-faced and battered. Although the Invincible Golden Body had absorbed much of Daniel's power, the remaining force had broken many of his bones and severely injured his internal organs. Absolute No God was indeed skilled, but even Deva Path Tian wasn't a match for Daniel—how could Absolute No God hope to contend with him?

"I will retreat from the Central Plains immediately and vow never to set foot here again," Absolute No God said hurriedly, terrified by Daniel's overwhelming strength.

If it were Nameless, he might have agreed to this plea. But unfortunately for Absolute No God, Daniel was not Nameless.

"Come and go as you please? Do you think I'm as gullible as Nameless? Since you've disturbed my peace, I might as well take a trip to Eastern Island while I'm at it."

"Senior, please feel free to visit Eastern Island. I will welcome you with open arms. My Unrivaled Divine Palace holds some influence there. Whatever senior wishes to do, I will see to it personally."

Absolute No God's survival instincts were impressive. To save his life, there was nothing he wouldn't offer. Though he appeared deeply devoted to Yan Ying, he wouldn't hesitate to betray her if it meant saving himself.

"You're quite clever. Since you're so cooperative, I won't kill you. I've been looking for a divine beast, and you'll do nicely."

Before Absolute No God could react, Daniel fed him a pill and knocked him unconscious. For someone like Absolute No God, who cultivated the Invincible Golden Body, he was an ideal candidate to become a divine beast.

"A Fist God… not a bad choice for a divine beast," Daniel mused after extracting much information about Eastern Island from Absolute No God's memories, including the imprisonment of his senior brother.

"You're still lurking around, not planning to escape? Do you think you won't be discovered? If you weren't Nie Feng's mother…" After storing Absolute No God into the Devouring Pouch, Daniel used Observation Haki to scan the World Society's surroundings. He detected ghost warriors regrouping and moving in his direction.

On a distant peak, Breaking Army and Yan Ying stood together. Considering Yan Ying's connection to Nie Feng, Daniel chose to spare her. Since she was spared, Breaking Army was left alone as well. While Daniel was curious about the Wolf and Sky Blade twin swords, he wasn't determined to obtain them. Acquiring just one of the Seven Weapons, the Fire Kirin Sword, was enough.

"You court death." Loyal to Absolute No God, the ghost warriors charged at Daniel. But he mercilessly eliminated all who approached.

"Nameless, you've truly disappointed me." After dealing with the enemies, Daniel headed to the dungeon, released Nameless, and prepared to lecture him under the guise of Deva Path Tian.

"Who are you?" Upon stepping outside and seeing the state of the World Society, Nameless was shocked by the scene of destruction and the scattered corpses.

"You don't need to know who I am. Just know that I am an old acquaintance of the Wei family, your ancestors. It's commendable that the Wei family produced a martial legend like you. However, Nameless, haven't you become too softhearted? If you had killed Absolute No God back then, all this trouble wouldn't exist today."

"Heaven has virtue for all living things. Excessive killing cannot solve problems."

"But it can solve the people who create problems. Nameless, tell me—where was this virtue of yours when you stood alone against 50,000 soldiers and decimated the Eight Great Sects, leaving the martial world in ruins?"

Nameless fell silent at Daniel's words. Though Nameless now preached the ideals of "benevolence and invincibility," in his youth, he had been a taboo name in the martial world. Daniel's own arrogance paled in comparison to Nameless's past—after all, Daniel had never single-handedly challenged 50,000 troops.

When it came to killing, even the so-called Grim Reaper, Bu Jingyun, could not match the body count of a younger Nameless.

"You're merciless against your own people, striking them down without hesitation. Yet, against outsiders, you suddenly speak of virtue and benevolence? Nameless, you are truly disappointing."

Daniel's words struck a nerve. Nameless could not refute them. In truth, the reason for his leniency towards outsiders was largely due to his youthful arrogance and the lingering regrets from those years.

"Look at the mess you left behind. If you had killed Absolute No God back then, would we be in this situation now? Sometimes killing is an act of saving lives. Where is the boldness you once had, when you saved a single person by standing against the Eight Great Sects? Or do you now regret saving that person, wishing you had let him die at the hands of the Eight Great Sects?"

"This…" Nameless faltered once more. Over the years, he occasionally regretted how heavy-handed he had been in the past. However, he had never once regretted saving someone. That had always been his conviction.

"Fine, I'm not saying you were wrong back then. After all, you had the courage and spirit to do what you did. But what about now? Has time dulled the edge of the martial legend, Nameless? We do not seek to invade others, but when faced with invaders, we must never show weakness. Reflect on this, Nameless."

"By the way, I've already dealt with Absolute No God. However, some of his underlings escaped, and the so-called Martial Supreme appears to be one of his subordinates in disguise. Cleaning up the rest of the mess is your responsibility."

With that, Daniel turned and began to leave, only to stop mid-step and reappear before Nameless.

"One more thing—your disciple, Jian Chen. Your teachings are flawed. He lacks the heart of a benevolent swordsman, yet you insist on teaching him the sword techniques of a benevolent warrior. Can't you see it? Are you preparing him to retire from the martial world alongside you?"

The martial world is no idyllic place. Nameless's approach to teaching Jian Chen wasn't inherently wrong, but he failed to consider the realities of their time. Unlike the future, with its widespread knowledge and information sharing, this was an era of limited communication. Even in a modern, information-rich world, not everyone sought wisdom, let alone in this era.

Young Jian Chen naturally yearned to roam the martial world, but under Nameless's influence, he suppressed those ambitions. With Nameless's strength and insight, he should have easily noticed Jian Chen's inner turmoil. If not before, he certainly would have after the Hero Sword broke.

"Benevolence and invincibility come from within. But that doesn't mean a benevolent heart cannot kill. In your youth, Nameless, weren't you labeled a great demon for a time? Didn't a seer once call you a great sinner because your actions led to decades of martial decline?"

These accusations had never affected Nameless's inner benevolence. At the time, his actions were guided by his convictions, and he had no regrets.

In the martial world, the divide between good and evil was often meaningless. It was morality—good versus bad—that truly mattered. War was a prime example. There was a fundamental difference between a war of aggression and a war of resistance.

Some say that "war has no right or wrong," but this is a flawed perspective, akin to blaming the victim for their suffering. Such ideas stem from ignorance or privilege. The morality of war depends entirely on its context. Aggression and oppression are never the same as resistance and liberation.

Having said his piece, Daniel vanished from Nameless's sight for good. The matter of the impostor Martial Supreme and the rogue remnants of Absolute No God's forces would now be handled by Nameless and the martial experts imprisoned in the dungeons.

Daniel, meanwhile, had his own plans. His next steps involved nurturing Absolute No God as his divine beast and sending him to confront the Emperor of Eastern Island. It would be a good test of the Emperor's strength before Daniel released Absolute No God back into Eastern Island to stir things up.

"Not bad. His strength has improved considerably. If Absolute No God were to face Nameless now, he might actually stand a chance."

After personally testing Absolute No God's power post-transformation, Daniel was satisfied. The only limitation was that the process of turning someone into a divine beast required a living subject—it couldn't be performed on the dead.
