Chapter 560 - Chapter 560: The Iron-Blood Alliance

A raging sea of fire swept across several kilometers, completely engulfing a thousand-strong Xiongnu unit. Faced with the sudden and ferocious blaze, the Xiongnu warriors had no chance to resist, let alone escape. Within moments of their anguished screams echoing through the battlefield, the flames consumed them entirely, leaving behind only scorched earth and charred remains.

"Multiple Shadow Clone Technique." Observing the aftermath, Daniel Davis clasped his hands together, formed seals, and created five shadow clones. He then sent them off in different directions to annihilate the Xiongnu, Donghu, and other foreign invaders who had breached the borders.

For anyone else, this would have been an almost impossible task given the scattered nature of the invading forces. But for Daniel Davis, it was no trouble at all—his Observation Haki allowed him to precisely locate and target his enemies.

"Too bad the Yin-Yang Clan's Earth Division doesn't have many experts. Otherwise, we could easily build earthen walls to counter these Xiongnu. Speaking of which, Earth-Style ninjas are the perfect counter to them."

Using Earth-Style: Earth Flow Wall, he could erect tall, sturdy barriers in front of the charging Xiongnu, causing them to crash into them headfirst. Even seasoned cavalry units would suffer significant losses against such tactics. However, the Xiongnu were far from being professional cavalry. They were merely soldiers riding horses, unlike true cavalry who undergo rigorous training.

Facing an Earth Flow Wall, the Xiongnu would undoubtedly collide en masse, but actual cavalry would either change course or halt in time. These maneuvers, while simple, require a level of training the Xiongnu lacked. It is this distinction that makes dealing with poorly trained cavalry straightforward. A few tripwires could decimate them. Conversely, training true cavalry is an immensely costly and complex endeavor. Even among the elite Golden Fire Cavalry, not all were of such caliber.

"Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation."

"Earth Style: Earth Flow Wall."

"Earth Style: Earth Mausoleum Dumpling."

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough."

With the combined efforts of his main body and five shadow clones, a barrage of ninjutsu rained down upon the invaders. The Xiongnu forces that had infiltrated the borders, whether numbering in the dozens, hundreds, or even thousands, were thoroughly wiped out. Not a single survivor remained. All the plundered wealth and captured civilians were rescued and secured.

The Xiongnu military organization bore similarities to the central Chinese system, with officers ranked as squad leaders, platoon leaders, centurions, and millennial commanders. After eradicating the invading Xiongnu and other foreign forces within the borders, Daniel Davis set his sights on the frontier fortifications.

Although the soldiers of Yan State were not particularly strong, they relied on the natural defenses of their border terrain to hold back the invaders. The terrain was akin to Hangu Pass in Qin State, a bottleneck where one warrior could block ten thousand. This was the same strategic location featured in the original story, where Meng Tian faced off against the Macedonian phalanx.

"It seems it's time to unleash some chaos. Let's go for a musou moment." Within the pass, a large contingent of Xiongnu and other foreign forces had set up camp, evidently intending to use the area as a base for future raids. If they succeeded in establishing control here, Yan State would be in grave danger.

Daniel Davis could not allow the Xiongnu or other foreign tribes to occupy this critical stronghold. For him, destroying the pass was a simple matter—a single punch could suffice. However, rebuilding it afterward would be a major hassle. Thus, he avoided using large-scale destructive techniques to preserve the structure.

For most experts in this world, even figures like Donghuang Taiyi or Guiguzi, charging against an army of ten thousand was unthinkable. Gai Nie, for instance, was severely injured against three hundred Tiger Wolf Cavalry, even with the added burden of protecting Tianming. This demonstrated that the top experts of this world were still no match for an army.

Even in the ninja world, leaving aside the godlike Otsutsuki clan, only a few individuals could single-handedly face an army. Most who found themselves surrounded suffered the same fate as the Third Raikage.

"Who goes there?" The Xiongnu stationed at the pass quickly spotted Daniel Davis, who appeared alone outside their camp. They didn't take him seriously; after all, it was just one man. One Xiongnu warrior enthusiastically drew his bow, aimed, and released an arrow at Daniel's arm rather than his vital areas, clearly intending to toy with him.

However, the laughter of the surrounding Xiongnu abruptly ceased as the same arrow pierced the archer's throat, killing him instantly. Shocked, the Xiongnu erupted in rage, and several of them charged at Daniel. Before they could reach him, they felt a sharp pain and fell lifeless to the ground.

This scene terrified the remaining Xiongnu. But before they could react, Daniel took the initiative, cutting through their ranks effortlessly. His transparent sword, Luminescent Blade, was nearly invisible to ordinary people, and the Xiongnu had no hope of perceiving his lightning-fast strikes.

As Daniel advanced, Xiongnu warriors fell in droves. Despite their desperate counterattacks with bows, crossbows, and other weapons, none could stop his march. Behind him lay a path of carnage.

"He's a demon!" After losing nearly a thousand men, the Xiongnu finally broke, their morale shattered. Daniel could have annihilated them all with a single large-scale technique, but such a method lacked the psychological impact of his current approach. Fear-stricken, the Xiongnu began hesitating, their earlier ferocity replaced by dread.

"Kill him! Kill him!" The Xiongnu leader, trembling as Daniel closed in, shouted orders to his personal guards and surrounding troops. His panic only deepened when he realized Daniel was unstoppable.

"Not Touman, huh?" Daniel felt a hint of disappointment upon recognizing the Xiongnu leader was not Touman, the notorious chanyu. However, he quickly regained his composure. Given the current state of Qin State, figures like Touman or Modu were inconsequential and not worth his attention.

"Finally over." After a fierce battle, the remaining Xiongnu scattered, fleeing in all directions. Daniel made sure to eliminate those heading deeper into central China but spared those retreating toward the steppe. The central regions needed immediate attention, as fleeing Xiongnu could cause untold harm.

"Two armies of 200,000 each?" After clearing the invaders within the pass, Daniel turned his attention to the Yinshan Grasslands, where 200,000 troops from the Xiongnu and Donghu tribes had set up camps.

The Xiongnu had strategists well-versed in the situation within central China. They knew permanent occupation was a pipe dream; their focus remained on opportunistic raids. Stationing large armies within the borders risked entrapment in narrow mountain passes, leaving no time for retreat.

For Touman, his lifelong ambition was to conquer central China. Yet this dream was contingent on first unifying the Xiongnu, a fragmented collection of tribes. While Touman held nominal authority as chanyu, larger tribes often ignored his commands unless significant benefits were at stake.

"Let's begin. Since you came, don't think you'll leave alive. Fire Style: Great Fire Destruction."

Daniel summoned five shadow clones again and launched coordinated attacks on both the Xiongnu and Donghu camps. Though he had the power to annihilate them in one strike, the presence of numerous captured central Chinese civilians forced him to restrain himself.

Following a nightmarish assault, the Xiongnu and Donghu each lost tens of thousands of soldiers. Chaos ensued as infighting and panicked escapes further compounded their losses. Touman, bearing the brunt of the devastation, now faced the possibility of losing his position as chanyu.

"Commander Meng Tian, the threat here is neutralized. Send reinforcements immediately."

Having rescued tens of thousands of captives, Daniel left the cleanup to Meng Tian. These survivors would play a critical role in stabilizing Yan State under Qin's rule. By publicizing this rescue, Qin could shift the blame for the suffering onto Yan's governance, bolstering its own reputation.

"Master Strategist." Meng Tian, awed by Daniel's unmatched power, greeted him with deep respect. For Qin's leadership, Daniel's overwhelming strength as the nation's strategist was a source of relief, not paranoia.

"This matter is settled. I must return to Xinzheng; there are pressing issues to address." With that, Daniel used the Flying Thunder God Technique to teleport away, leaving Meng Tian to handle the aftermath.
