From the Scarlet Scar emerged a Chaos Demon Army, the corrupted Flesh Fleet bearing the blood-red skull insignia, charging straight towards the northern border of the Alliance.
The shadow of war quickly enveloped the homeland of the Alliance.
It was a scouting fleet of the Alliance, intended to investigate the border situation in the north, that discovered this blood-red fleet. Just a dozen or so patrol ships, their best asset was their size, which minimized pressure when navigating the Star Realm. Coupled with subspace countermeasures far exceeding the standard, they enjoyed a relatively high safety margin during their voyages.
Of course, this "relatively high" is just a comparison.
If something were to happen... well, then it happens. A patrol ship carries only a few hundred people and the vessel itself isn't expensive.
This low cost is one of their 'advantages'.
