After an hour, Malin found his father-in-law at the door. His first thought was that it was like a flood washing through the dragon king temple, a son-in-law ending up killing his father-in-law's connection to secret forces.
The second thought was how much private wealth that old guy had left. After all, those troops of the royal family were funded by his Mowish family's private money.
The third thought was whether to play dumb and muddle through this situation. So many have died on both sides; just paying the family settlement fee from his own pocket should suffice.
So as soon as Malin saw Goethe, he laughed, "You're here to hold me accountable?"
"Accountable? For what?" Goethe laughed heartily.
Malin's heart skipped a beat—oh man, could it be that this old guy invested heavily in those troops and, seeing the loss of a whole team, is now exasperated to the point of fury?
