The morning of the Academy's orientation
Kevin and Gerald walked through the crowded streets of Crystal City alongside Victor, who had been entrusted with leading the boys' to the Academy for their first day. "We met this girl who offered to join our team last week, everything's going well so far!" Kevin spoke up, noticing the smile across Victor's face. "A lot has happened since I left you with Grace - from Gerald's appearance to your new members, I'm sure you guys will do well in the future! Not like you'll surpass Team Cytron though."
"Don't get ahead of yourself, Victor," Gerald spoke up. "When he's determined, there's always a chance."
Their peaceful conversation was interrupted by a loud scream from the distance, immediately catching their attention. "YOU'RE FINALLY BACK IN THE CITY!" a boy screamed towards Kevin, angrily pointing towards his forehead. "You may have already gotten a headstart, but I'll assemble a team and breeze past the academy like it's NOTHING!" This short pink-haired boy was identified as Arias, a student at the Academy in the present day while also being Kevin's archenemy. Despite his pride, he tends to excessively sweat whenever describing his goals…
"You're sweating," Gerald chimed in.
Arias bolted away from the trio towards the Academy, his facial expression filled to the brim with embarrassment. "Why the hell does this ALWAYS happen to me!?" he complained.
About 30 minutes later
"Welcome to the Crystal City Entity Hunting Academy!" Fasal's voice projected across the room. "I want to make it known that I'm delighted to be in the same classroom as you guys!" a young feminine voice announced, almost instantly burying her mouth into her hands shortly after. This sky-blue haired woman was known as Michelle, also a present academy student aside Arias. She tends to excessively compliment people she's comfortable around, sometimes mistaken for love-bombing in her future relationships.
"BRING IT ON, MICHAEL!" Alex shouted, both their foreheads aggressively colliding. "Your pride is on the line, so you better win if you want to achieve my dream!"
"In your dreams, shortie!" Michael clapped back.
We don't have to identify Michael and Alex since they're already sworn Team ENTITY members who have exercised their powers countless times in battle, and it's obvious what their dreams revolve around…
"As you all probably know by now, there are three entity hunter ranks! Academy, Standard, and Professional! Over the next few years, you will be working your asses off in order to make your way out of the Academy ranks and onto the Standard ranks, so you better withdraw now if you don't believe you're up for the challenge!" One boy, wrapped in a dark bandana, shakily prepares to raise his hand but hesitates. "Being a great hunter is my dream, no matter what I have to do to achieve it!" He quietly motivates himself. Fasal smiles, shifting her glare towards Kevin. "So you're the kid Victor was talking about?" she began. In the blink of an eye, she appeared at his desk, fidgeting with his messy, brown hair. "Ellis as a child was also a late bloomer, so I predict you'll end up the same as him. But with Grace's linking assisting you in combat, I'm sure you'll be fine."
Kevin released a sigh of relief. Despite not yet wielding a biological power like the population's majority, the power of linking he had spent months learning alongside Grace would later pay off during the trip to ENTITY.
