Chapter 364 - 363: Black And White

'He really is...' In his final moments, Bao Gang seemed to confirm the outrageous suspicion he carried, or perhaps it was simply the only thought that could explain why the man before him would kill without hesitation.

"Lord... Bao Gang," the two squires turned pale as paper, dread froze their bodies entirely, and they could not summon the will or courage to run.

Yun Wuji glanced at one of them and asked with the same smile, "Same question. Am I handsome?"

The squire's eyes darted frantically, the tragic end of Bao Gang still vivid in his mind. "You are ugly, but you are overflowing with masculini—"

Before he could finish, Yun Wuji's sword beam pierced straight through his head. "You must be blind."

He moved on to the last one and asked, "Am I handsome?"

The squire felt his bladder loosen as he saw Yun Wuji pointing his finger at him. The other two had both been killed despite giving opposing answers! His voice quivering in fear, he replied, "I… I don't know…"

Swoosh

Yun Wuji ended his life with another sword beam. He sighed deeply and remarked, "What is the point of living in this world when you don't even know something like this?"

He landed on the ground and picked through the bodies, searching them carefully. He found a large number of grey colored stones, a small collection of crystals, along with various kinds of pills, medicines, and weapons.

After placing everything into the Sky Poison Pearl, Yun Wuji waved his hand, and an intense golden flame reduced the bodies to ashes.

Taking off into the sky, Yun Wuji pulled out one of the crystals and began examining it. "So this is the abyssal crystal. The amount of energy within it is indeed far greater than the profound crystals back in the Primal Chaos."

Abyssal stones and abyssal crystals were somewhat common currencies in the Abyss, and they held as much importance to a profound practitioner of the Abyss as profound stones and profound crystals did to a profound practitioner of the Primal Chaos. However, the former naturally existed on a much higher plane.

They were created from the mutations or, more accurately, the "death" of a pocket of abyssal dust, and they could emerge anywhere within the Endless Fog. While the power of abyssal dust could never be controlled by a profound practitioner of the Abyss, the abyssal stones and abyssal crystals stood on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

Not only were their energies easily obtainable, but the level of energy they provided was both high in quality and abundant in amount. They were incredibly useful for cultivation purposes, as well as for the construction of divine palaces and profound formations. They could even serve directly as the energy source of a profound vessel.

This world was indeed plagued with deathly abyssal dust that slowly killed anyone exposed to it and greatly shortened the lifespan of the people here.

However, the elemental auras of this place defied imagination, and their level was completely beyond what anyone could have thought possible.

In the Primal Chaos, the God Realm was the absolute highest plane of existence. But here? To put it in perspective, the gap between this place and the God Realm was greater than the gap between the God Realm and a lower realm. And that gap would be even wider if Yun Wuji were in a Kingdom of God.

The space of this place was unimaginably tough as well. At his peak, the God Realm's space was as frail as paper. A simple release of his aura was enough to tear through it and shake the entire God Realm. But here, even if he gave it his all, the most damage he could do was merely shredding the space into pieces.

As far as he could tell, the cultivators of this place were no more talented or hardworking than those of the Primal Chaos. However, they were able to cultivate far faster and reach far higher levels simply because their plane of existence was higher.

Here, it was the bare minimum for someone to reach the Divine Tribulation Realm before the age of 15. In the Primal Chaos, a fifteen-year-old Divine Tribulation Realm profound practitioner would have been hailed as a once-in-a-lifetime genius in any Divine Region, but here, they were merely competent enough to avoid being abandoned.

The density and level of the spirit energy in the Abyss were only part of the reason why the profound practitioners of the Abyss cultivated so incredibly quickly. The abyssal stones and abyssal crystals were the main reasons.

To Yun Wuji, whose cultivation relied mainly on crystals and stones, abyssal stones held even greater importance than they did for ordinary people. After all, it was possible for him to continuously increase his cultivation as long as he had enough time and enough abyssal crystals.

If he could dominate and take control of the entire Endless Fog, he would have an endless supply of abyssal crystals.

"You could've easily killed them, so why did you have to torture them like that?" Suddenly, a voice echoed in his mind. It carried complex emotions, faint like a gentle breeze, with a magnetic charm that seemed to draw in the soul.

"Shut it! What's the big deal about him having some fun?! Why do you always act like some kind of holy hoe?!" Another scornful voice echoed in his mind, haughty and disdainful. It was Hei Xiaolian.

Two figures appeared on either side of him. One was the buxom Hei Xiaolian dressed in a tight black dress, while the other was a white figure bathed completely in light. Within the white light was the silhouette of a woman, delicate as jade and ethereal as a dream.

"Li Suo, you were watching?" Yun Wuji glanced at the white figure and asked. "I wouldn't call that torturing. From the moment I asked them those simple, common questions, their lives were already doomed."

From the moment Yun Wuji ran into these three, he had already sentenced them to death. There was no way he would let them leave after giving such an obvious clue. Even if the possibility of someone connecting him to someone from the other side of the universe was slim, Yun Wuji's inner batman would not allow him to leave even such a small trace.

Of course, Yun Wuji wasn't afraid of taking risks, nor did he think that the True Gods living here could threaten his life aside from Mo Su. But if he could avoid trouble, why create it for himself?

"Yeah, you are such a drama queen, calling that torture. You've clearly never seen what real torture looks like. This man had written a whole book about it!" Hei Xiaolian poked Yun Wuji's cheek while glaring at Li Suo.

Li Suo didn't react to Hei Xiaolian's provocative attempts. Instead, she fell into silence, as if pondering something.

Yun Wuji stared at her before shaking his head helplessly. She was still quiet and naive, even after more than twenty years had passed since she awakened.

She had first appeared when Yun Wuji was still in the Eternal Heaven Divine Realm, more specifically, in the last twenty years before he left. It had been a huge surprise to him at the time. He knew that Li Suo's soul was still in the Primordial Seal of Life & Death, but he hadn't expected her to recover.

Yun Wuji did have the Unfettered Profound Veins, and he believed they were much stronger than the Ancestral Sacred Body. However, he also knew that he lacked the power of the Ancestral Sacred Body, which could release the 'ancestral aura' capable of healing Li Suo.

However, it seemed that after "training" many times with Xiao Lingxi, a qualitative change occurred from collecting so many tiny amounts of nothingness aura from her. This qualitative change was the reason Shen Xi needed only half the time to escape from her seal, and also the reason Li Suo began to recover.

Since then, Li Suo had accompanied him, and because Yun Wuji didn't have He Ling as the Sky Poison Pearl's spirit, she was free to appear.

The weird thing was that Hei Xiaolian seemed to dislike her. Perhaps it was because of her pure aura, but Hei Xiaolian always thought she was some pretentious hypocrite, aka a green tea bitch. She especially disliked it when Li Suo commented on what Yun Wuji did.

The Qilin Abyss Realm was a very low-level and remote land of living. It was very close to the Endless Fog, and very few people cared about it or even wished to visit, aside from those who cultivated the Earth profound energy.

The only noteworthy thing was the Last Qilin, who lived in the Qilin God Realm. It opens once every six hundred years. There are still around 240 years before it would open again.

The weird thing about these people, and also the people from the Primal Chaos, is that they looked down on Earth Profound Energy, which excels in defense, thinking only cowards would cultivate something that focuses solely on defense. Like, what the fuck?

"Going to meet a Divine Beast... this brings back memories..." Yun Wuji muttered, feeling somewhat nostalgic. It reminded him of the time when he first met the Phoenix and used his fake memories to bullshit her. At that time, he had Chu Yuechan accompanying him. She didn't have her memories and always acted childish and spoiled around him.

He was once again going to meet another Divine Beast, the only difference this time being that he wasn't going to use any schemes or plans to bullshit his way.

...

A few days later, Yun Wuji was floating before a barrier. The Endless Fog was extremely large and occupied more than 99% of the Abyss, which meant the area where people lived was less than even 1%. So even while flying at a leisurely pace, Yun Wuji was able to reach the Qilin Abyss Realm in a very short time.

Yun Wuji reached out and touched the barrier. It was quite strong. Even if a Divine Extinction Realm profound practitioner used their full strength, they wouldn't be able to leave a scratch on it, after all, it had been set up by the Abyss Monarch himself.

Even for Yun Wuji, it would take a bit of effort to destroy it, and more importantly, if he did, he would also alert the Abyss Monarch.

Closing his eyes, Yun Wuji remained in place for a while. A faint white light began shining from his entire body, and the light spread to the barrier as well. The barrier's surface started rippling, then spun like a vortex, before Yun Wuji's entire body turned into white light and was swallowed by it.

After swallowing him, the white light on the barrier slowly faded, and its movement stopped, returning to normal.
