Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Heading to Capital Star

```
The tomato seedling turned from yellow to green at a visibly fast rate, its withered branches plumped up, and then grew larger, sprouted leaves, flowered, and bore fruit, before stopping at the stage where it bore green tomatoes.
Qu Tong: "..."
She cast a gloomy look at the somewhat murky nutrient solution nearby...
Finding a cardboard box for the tomato seedling, Qu Tong stretched out her left arm following the memories of her predecessor, tapping on her wristband.
The holographic screen popped up.
Great! A balance of 33 Star Coins...
A bottle of the lowest-grade nutrient solution costs 50 Star Coins each.
Truly to cry over, her once sizeable savings barely squandered, she had mysteriously transmigrated into a pauper.
Qu Tong collapsed onto the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling that had been patched up who knows how many times.
Just let it be, death by starvation be damned.
Hoping in her next life, she'd transmigrate into a wealthy young lady, spending gold like dirt, unspeakably extravagant.
Unfortunately, her wish wasn't fulfilled. In the middle of the night, Qu Tong's special ability recovered a bit. Starving, Qu Tong ate the dozen or so bright red cherry tomatoes in their entirety, just barely able to sleep peacefully afterwards.
Early the next morning, Qu Tong didn't open her eyes but reached under her pillow.
Searching left, searching right.
After a long search, she didn't find what she was looking for.
She sat up, puzzled, and moved the pillow aside.
Her brain crashed for two seconds before she smacked her forehead.
Oh!
She'd forgotten, she had transmigrated.
Here, mobile phones weren't in vogue; everyone used a wristband called a "holographic brain."
She checked the time on her holographic brain, it was 7 a.m.
She, who usually loved to sleep in, woke up unexpectedly early, not because of dreams, but because of the growling stomach.
Touching her somewhat deflated stomach, she was debating whether to drink some "poison" when someone from the Qu Family on Capital Star arrived.
Qu Tong didn't mind the butler's nasty attitude. She just took the pot of cherry tomatoes and a small bag of lightweight items and followed him onto the spacecraft.
"Respected passengers, welcome aboard Flight B2493 with Qu-speed engines. Our destination is the Capital Star of the Canaan Empire. Estimated travel time is 3 days, 4 hours, and 28 minutes, and we will go through two interstellar jumps. We will be taking off in five minutes. Wish you a pleasant journey," a pleasant female voice announced as the cabin door closed.
Qu Tong looked through the window, just in time to see Li Kun and two others rushing over in the distance, anxious expressions on their faces. Qu Tong curled her lips slightly.
Gradually, the figures became smaller, and the whole remote star shrank into a ball of intermingling yellow and green.
Though the Qu Family's attitude wasn't great, they still met her basic needs, providing her with a bottle of mid-grade nutrient solution daily.
It still tasted terrible, but at least it was no longer bitter melon flavor and was barely tolerable.
Qu Tong tossed the pale green concoction aside carelessly.
To hell with it, she would never have to drink such an awful thing again in her life.
Qu Tong placed the small tomato seedling on the windowsill, quietly admiring the view outside.
The beauty of space was undoubtedly awe-inspiring, the vast expanse of the cosmos, the unique stars of the star rings, the colorful nebulae—a mysterious presence that the vast land of China explored for thousands of years. Being able to witness it with her own eyes was fortunate enough in this lifetime.
There was always someone guarding her room door every day, and the butler and his people lived next door. After initially clashing with Qu Tong a few times and seeing that she completely ignored them and didn't run around, they apparently found it uninteresting and gradually stopped bothering about her.
```

About a day away from Capital Star, Qu Tong was studying the various functions of the light brain when the spaceship suddenly started to shake violently, and an alarm sounded throughout the vessel.

Qu Tong's first reaction was to pick up the Tomato Seedling and open the door of her room.

As soon as she stepped out, she saw chaos reigning outside. Intelligent robots had been thrown against the cabin walls, many leisure facilities had displaced from their original positions, and numerous people had fallen to the floor. Those fortunate enough to hold onto something looked terror-stricken.

The broadcast was delivering bad news. A man in uniform was shouting through a megaphone, "The spaceship has encountered an attack by a Star Beast. The left wing is damaged, and we're about to make an emergency landing on Secondary Star 348. A distress signal has been sent to the cruising base. Is there any A-rank or higher Psychic on board who can help buy us some time?"

The scenery outside the window was changing rapidly. Most passengers had left their rooms after hearing the broadcast, but no one spoke up.

"Is there any A-rank or higher Psychic on the spaceship?" the man in uniform asked again, raising his voice.

The answer was self-evident.

The atmosphere instantly became tense, and even the crew members looked distressed.

"Bang!" With a sudden swerve, the spaceship caused another round of people tumbling over each other.

Qu Tong staggered, and the flowerpot in her hand crashed onto a fallen butler beside her.

After steadying herself, Qu Tong hurriedly picked up the flowerpot. Thanks to the butler breaking its fall, only a small amount of soil had spilled out.

The butler picked himself up in a disgruntled state and began to furiously berate Qu Tong, "What's the point of holding a pot of weeds at a time like this? If it weren't for coming to pick up a useless person like you, would I be suffering on the Capital Star? I might just lose my life over this, such bad luck!"

Qu Tong flicked the dirt off the tomato leaves; it was indeed quite unfortunate.

As the spaceship jolted again, her elbow sent the just-steadied butler tumbling back to the ground.

Quite unluckily, his teeth chipped upon a railing.

"You!" The butler glared at Qu Tong with fury, as if he wanted to tear her apart right there and then.

Qu Tong merely glanced indifferently, as if the recent commotion had nothing to do with her.

Without a word and following the crew's directions, she found a seat, fastened her seatbelt, and sat down.

Although it was widely known that Qu Tong had an F-rank physique and was a waste of space, who accepted the recent troubles passively and seldom spoke, it was precisely her lukewarm attitude that irked the butler intensely.

But given the special circumstances, the butler kicked the door in anger, though he didn't dare delay any further and found a position by the corner.

The crew hurriedly organized the passengers to return to their seats.

The projection in the center of the spaceship showed the situation in front of the spaceship: three strange-looking flying creatures. The largest had three pairs of wings, and the other two had one pair each, black and hairless overall.

The spaceship's emergency cannons fired one after another, but most were evaded, and only one of the creatures with two wings was hit, its wing injured and unable to fly as it fell downwards.

The spaceship's ammunition ran out quickly, and the Six-Winged Star Beast took the opportunity to charge at the spaceship, its sharp claws aiming straight for the big screen, scaring a child into crying on the spot.

Fortunately, the pilot's skills were solid, and with a spinning maneuver, he just barely managed to dodge the attack.

The majority of those on this flight were low-ranking inhabitants from remote stars, all of whom began to fear and despair in the face of this dire situation.

"We're so close to Capital Star, how could we still encounter a Star Beast attack?"

"The spaceship has run out of bullets, what should we do now?"

"I haven't even seen my grandchild; I don't want to die!"

"My son is waiting for me on Capital Star!"

"Why hasn't the rescue team arrived? God, please protect us!"

Some passengers took out their light brains to contact loved ones, but they struggled due to the signal blocking device on the spaceship.

People were crying as they wrote their wills, while others muttered prayers to the heavens for protection.

But in just an instant, the spaceship reached the ground, activated safety devices, and the hull screeched alarmingly, though the main cabin remained intact.

"Everyone, evacuate the spaceship quickly! Those with spiritual power or weapons, provide cover!"
