He stood up and left.
The path from the rooftop bar to the elevator was winding.
As the two walked through the corridor, they occasionally ran into groups of people coming for a drink.
They also ran into people leaving in a drunken stupor.
Behind them, as a drunkard staggered away with someone supporting him, Xi Xiuzhe gentlemanly nudged Wa Yue'an inward, letting himself walk on the outer side.
Wa Yue'an glanced at him from the corner of his eye.
The emotions that had been stirred by Gu Jiangnian's last words were thrown into disarray, momentarily scattered.
