Shuiyue Nunnery is a small place.
However, this small place is not somewhere just anyone can enter.
This was because, during the previous dynasty, it was a place where noble women of various families were confined for their wrongdoings.
After the Manchu people entered the Central Plains, it declined for a time, but later on, it flourished again.
There aren't many devotees here, yet once a person is sent in, the incense money is consistently delivered every year.
So, it can be considered a somewhat good place.
But that's for the nuns who run this place.
For the others in the nunnery, like Ye Jin who had been here a month or two, it's just a bit better than hell.
Although they have enough to eat and are clothed, living like they used to is no longer possible.
The nuns here don't beat or scold people. They just use various means to deal with girls who come here and refuse to be tamed.
