Under the pitch-black night, swarms of figures rushed into Star Origin Road like a horde of rats about to plunder a granary. One ran faster than the next, their ferocity and murderous intent palpable.
However, just as this group of dark shadows set foot onto Star Origin Road, a loud CLANG resonated.
The next second, intense beams of light shot out from all directions. The dazzling glare was so bright they couldn't open their eyes. Immediately following was an extremely dense series of WHOOSHING sounds, followed by screams like pigs being slaughtered.
"Traps! Everyone, be careful!"
By the time the group reacted, it was already too late. Those who had charged into Star Origin Road first were riddled with arrows, peppered like sieves. A few lucky ones weren't struck in vital areas, but with arrows piercing their arms and legs, they had completely lost the ability to move.
Their momentum broken by the first volley of arrows, the group of shadows instantly retreated.
