Seeing so many people standing outside the private room, Luo Xiu was startled.
"Where is the young lady?" Ah Qian's expression was grim as he asked coldly.
Luo Xiu looked up at him. "Are you talking to me?"
Seeing Luo Xiu's arrogant demeanor, ignoring even Brother Qian, Zhang Wei couldn't stand it any longer. He waved his hand and shouted, "Fuck it! Mince this bastard for me!"
The thugs, lined up in two neat rows, immediately drew the Slapsticks from their waists. With vicious expressions, they closed in to surround Luo Xiu.
Luo Xiu, however, remained expressionless and perfectly calm.
He paid these small fry no mind.
"Just you dare touch him today."
At that moment, Sun Li's icy voice came from behind Luo Xiu.
Everyone turned toward the sound to see an impeccably dressed Sun Li walking elegantly toward them on her Crystal High Heels.
She stood beside Luo Xiu, her slender hand lightly brushing aside a few stray strands of hair as her icy gaze fell upon Zhang Wei's face.
"Ah Qian."
"Yes, Miss."
"Look into everything Zhang Wei has done over the years. And from this day forward, I don't want to see this scumbag in Sea City ever again."
Hearing this, Ah Qian froze for a moment before turning to look at Zhang Wei.
Zhang Wei was filled with panic, having no idea what was happening.
"Miss, what are you..." he asked cautiously.
Sun Li didn't even bother to glance at him. She turned to Luo Xiu and said with a smile, "Mister Luo, let's go."
Just moments before in the private room, Luo Xiu had briefly explained how Zhang Wei was using a contract to threaten Xu Qianqing, and he had suggested that Sun Li help her.
It was a small matter, so of course Sun Li agreed. She just hadn't expected that the people working under the Sun Family would be such scum.
She couldn't bear to imagine how many girls a lowlife like Zhang Wei, who threw his weight around, had victimized!
"Ah Qian, did you not hear me?" Sun Li spoke again into the silence.
Ah Qian snapped back to his senses. He glared at Zhang Wei and, without a word, kicked him squarely in the stomach.
"Get him thrown out!"
Zhang Wei dropped to his knees with a thud, crying and begging Sun Li for mercy.
However, Sun Li completely ignored him.
She said to Ah Qian, "Also, I want you to follow up on Miss Xu's contract."
"Understood, Miss."
After giving her instructions, Sun Li led Luo Xiu downstairs.
Once downstairs, Luo Xiu told Sun Li to head to the parking lot first while he went to find the worried Xu Qianqing.
"Luo Xiu, did they do anything to you?" Xu Qianqing asked, rushing over to him.
Luo Xiu shook his head slightly. "It's fine, everything has been taken care of. Just go upstairs and find the guy named Ah Qian."
Xu Qianqing looked bewildered, not quite understanding what he meant.
Luo Xiu didn't explain further. "I have something to take care of. After you sign the contract, head back to the company. I'll grab a cab back later."
...
Inside a Porsche sports car cruising down a spacious road, Sun Li took the initiative to chat with Luo Xiu. Before long, she had brought him to the grand Sun Family manor.
Back in the private room, Sun Li had asked Luo Xiu to come to the Sun Family estate to see her grandfather. Luo Xiu had agreed, figuring it was too early to return to the company and that he could earn some money on the side.
After all, to Luo Xiu, the Sun Family's congenital meridian depletion was a trivial problem.
This was easy money walking right up to his door; there was no reason not to take it.
Looking at the luxurious manor before him, Luo Xiu couldn't help but sigh in admiration.
The rich in this big city really live lavishly.
"Your home is enormous."
Sun Li glanced at Luo Xiu's handsome, cheerful profile and chuckled, then picked up her bag and walked ahead.
"As long as you cure our family's hereditary disease, you can have anything you want. I can't give you a manor this large, but you can take your pick of any villa or mansion in Sea City."
Soon, Sun Li led Luo Xiu into the main hall.
A dozen immaculately dressed maids stood in two respectful rows.
On the way over, Sun Li had already called home to announce that she had met a Divine Doctor who had easily cured her illness.
A stunningly beautiful woman in a blue bodycon minidress hurried over to greet them. When she saw Luo Xiu beside Sun Li, she couldn't help but pause.
Luo Xiu also sized up the beauty before him, feeling amazed.
Compared to Sun Li, this woman seemed a bit older and possessed a mature charm that Sun Li lacked. In terms of looks and figure, she was every bit Sun Li's equal.
The woman looked at Sun Li with a questioning gaze.
When Sun Li had mentioned meeting a Divine Doctor on the phone, she had pictured an old gentleman, not a young man like this.
"Auntie, let me introduce you. This is Luo Xiu, Mister Luo. He's the Divine Doctor I told you about on the phone."
The beautiful woman Sun Li called "Auntie" was named Su Shenyun. She was Sun Li's grandfather's illegitimate daughter and had taken her mother's surname, not Sun.
Sun Li was twenty-five, while Su Shenyun was eight years her senior.
Despite the generational gap, the two were as close as sisters.
Su Shenyun assessed Luo Xiu again and gave a polite smile before pulling Sun Li aside to whisper.
"You silly girl, don't tell me you've been tricked by some charlatan? Are you so easily swayed by a handsome face? Even Doctor Li couldn't cure it, so what makes you think this kid can? Is that realistic?"
Sun Li glanced back at Luo Xiu, a trace of adoration in her eyes. She said proudly, "At first, I thought the same as you. But I'm not going to bother explaining now. We'll let the facts speak for themselves in a moment."
With that, she turned and walked back to Luo Xiu.
"Mister Luo, let's go upstairs."
「Second Floor.」
In a spacious and luxurious room, a terminally ill Sun Gaozhi, the old master of the Sun Family, lay on the bed.
An old man who appeared to be in his sixties stood quietly in vigil by the bedside.
"Grandpa!" Sun Li hurried over and grabbed Sun Gaozhi's hand.
"Grandpa, the Sun Family is saved! We're really saved! Xiao Li has found a Divine Doctor who can cure our hereditary disease!"
She was so overcome with joy that she began to cry.
Sun Gaozhi stroked Sun Li's head before looking up at Luo Xiu. His aged eyes were weak, even a bit unfocused, yet they held a startlingly sharp glint.
Just from that gaze, he could tell that Sun Gaozhi must have been an extraordinary man in his youth. It was the look of a bloodthirsty beast!
"Xiao Li, my dear, your grandfather has lived to a ripe old age and is content. My only remaining wish is to see you get married. I have no other regrets. Please, ask this young man to leave."
He figured his precious granddaughter was just trying to give him some hope and a reason to keep fighting. But he knew his own condition better than anyone. He knew he was beyond saving. If even Doctor Li was helpless, how could this young man possibly cure him?
Standing to the side, Su Shenyun looked at Luo Xiu and said coolly, "Mister Luo, I'll see you out."
In truth, she thought the same as Sun Gaozhi; she didn't believe Luo Xiu had any real ability either.
"Grandpa! Auntie! Why don't you believe me?" Sun Li cried, starting to get anxious.
Sun Gaozhi waved a hand feebly. "A Gui, show our guest out."
At his words, the old man standing guard approached Luo Xiu.
"Young man, please."
He placed a withered hand on Luo Xiu's shoulder, subtly channeling his strength to push him out.
To his shock, however, Luo Xiu casually caught his wrist and lifted the hand away. No matter how much strength A Gui applied, he couldn't resist the power in Luo Xiu's grip.
A Gui's eyes widened in astonishment.
This simple action left Sun Gaozhi and the others in disbelief.
They all knew what A Gui was capable of.
