"Do you like frustrating me? Making me angry? Toying with my emotions?" Zeus growled upon approaching me.
"Yes," I teased, "You look like a hurt little puppy."
"What about these past five years? Does that not matter? Have the nights we spent together meant nothing?" Zeus questioned.
"I do love that the boys have father figures in their lives, but I already spoke to them about it, and they want to move back as well," I sighed, "As for the nights, a woman needs sex too."
"Their children!" Zeus's anger grew, his eyes turning dark. "If you're doing this to get back at me, I'm sorry. I've been apologizing to you for the past five years. Can you not see that?"
While sauntering over to Zeus, my eyes locked onto his. The fury beckoning behind them made me want to do conniving things. I took his glass of whiskey and downed its contents.
"I do see it, and I don't care if it hurts you," I lied.
Zeus gripped my wrist; this time, it was painful, not in a fun way.
"Ah!" I winced.
"Don't push me, Ivy; Eve did, and she knew the lengths I'd go to to get what I want," Zeus warned.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I giggled.
"Do you think I didn't want her and Tanya dead? My brother?" Zeus smirked.
No, there's no way he planned all of this from the start. There's no way he's this twisted.
"You're lying," I trembled.
"No, I'm not. I knew what Eve and my brother were doing. I never loved Tanya, but she became obsessed and had to be removed from the picture."
I backed away. Was Zeus telling the truth? Or just trying to scare me? His voice never waivered in his confession, which frightened me more. What did he want from this exactly? Scaring me won't make me want him; it'll drive me away even more, but he didn't seem to care.
"Really?" I defiantly pranced around, "You're such a mast schemer that you planned four people's deaths?"
"Eric was an accident-"
"Keep telling yourself that," I interrupted.
"Look, Ivy-"
"No," I laughed, "You look. I do like fucking you, but that's all I like. I don't love you. If you planned to kill the other two women in your life for me, the woman who doesn't, then I sincerely feel bad for you."
Zeus lunged at me, his hand wrapping around my throat, slamming me back into the wall—his massive pressed against my trachea, cutting off my air supply. I grabbed his wrist with both hands, trying to fight back, but it was useless.
"I told you, don't push me, Ivy!" he reminded me, pressing the denim of his jeans into my hips.
He lifted his knee between my splayed legs and lifted me from the ground. I was unable to react, gasping for breath as he pinned both of my wrists behind my head with one hand and pressed his forearm to my chest, locking me in place.
My chest heaved up and down, gasping for air back into my heavy lungs.
"What are you trying to prove?" I croaked, choking on the words as they came.
"That you love me," he stated, "You love what I've turned you into. You love your monster side and know you don't have to hide it from me. You don't have to fake it like you do for Reign and Dimitri. You aren't capable of love, but you want control over everything."
"You suddenly know me now?" I coughed.
"Yes," he whispered, leaning down to my face. I felt his hot breath on my flesh, "I know everything about you, Ivy, and I'm in love with the crazy, twisted, diabolical woman you've become."
I rolled my eyes.
"Don't!?" he hissed, "Don't ever roll your eyes at me again."
"Or what?" I chuckled.
Zeus asserted more pressure on my chest, pressing me downward upon his knee.
"I'll punish you," he answered.
"You don't scare me," I smiled.
My underwear began digging into my sex. I tried to move, but it was futile. I was stuck at Zeus's mercy. I couldn't wait.
"Do you think I care?" I cunningly smirked.
Zeus shifted his forearm to my throat, cutting off my circulation. I started feeling my heart pound, echoing in my head slower and slower. My face grew numb, and my vision was of seeing silver flakes coming in more immense swarms than the next.
