The same prison cell, but with different functions and methods of handling things.
After walking out, Arthur felt a wave of melancholy wash over him.
He wasn't sure if this counted as ruthless or cold-hearted, but when it came to Mandarin, he really didn't want to let him leave alive.
People like that could be terrifying in the future!
Even though Mandarin had lost ten rings, Arthur couldn't guarantee that he would be safe from him or that Mandarin wouldn't pose a threat to him or those around him again.
Since they were now pure enemies, locked in an unending war, Arthur was unwilling to give him any chance to escape. Just as he had said, he wouldn't give him even the smallest glimmer of hope, not even as tiny as a sesame seed!
For an enemy, that would be far too luxurious.
For himself, that was far too dangerous!
There was no need to offer the enemy such luxuries and put himself at risk, no matter how small the odds were!
Because no matter how small the chance, Arthur couldn't afford it!
"So this isn't a math problem at all."
Sighing softly, Arthur walked to the teleportation array, and in the next moment, he arrived at Camp Lehigh.
No sooner had he stepped out of the teleportation array and walked a few steps than a Šumer drone appeared above his head and began scanning his spectrum.
[Ding! Highest authority detected!]
"..."
Arthur was stunned. What was this "ding"? And what was this "highest authority" nonsense?
[Information retrieval successful. Happy to meet you, Highest Authority Instructor! This unit is your personal robot stationed at the Camp Lehigh main base, ready to serve you!]
Arthur nearly dropped his jaw in disbelief, carefully closing his mouth before asking, "What can you do?"
[Functions include searching, reading, transmitting commands, and a series of other features! Also able to assist in combat, though not as powerful as the Unit you carry, but still capable of ensuring your safety!]
The tone was quite confident. Arthur couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time. Even without thinking hard, he knew this had to be another one of Tony's inventions.
Rubbing his forehead, he said, "So, you call me 'Instructor' now. What do you call others?"
The Mark Series immediately flew in front of Arthur and displayed a list.
At the top was the "Highest Authority," which was Arthur himself.
Right after were the "Advanced Authorities," including Tony, Steve, and others.
But there was a problem: the people listed didn't have names recorded, and everyone wore masks...
"A bit like burying your head in the sand,"
Arthur remarked. "What's Iron Man up to?"
[Searching... Search complete. Iron Man is currently transporting goods!]
...
...
Indeed, Iron Man was busy transporting goods. Following the hints from the Šumer beside him, Arthur found Tony.
Tony was directing a dozen or so Mark Series to carry box after box of gadgets.
The items in the boxes were metal tubes, less than three centimeters wide and about five or six centimeters long, looking pure silver but made of an unknown material.
They were extremely lightweight, seemingly so light that a breath could blow them away.
Arthur carefully held one in his hand and asked, "What is this?"
Tony turned around, noticing Arthur's uninvited arrival, and gave him a sharp look. "What do you think? This is the result of me working all night yesterday!"
"...All night?" Arthur said. "So, this is what we need?"
"Of course!"
Tony took out a metal tube and placed it on the ground. After blinking blue lights three times, the metal tube stuck to the ground, and instantly a beam of light shot up, projecting against the ceiling.
Arthur stared at it for a long time, then puzzled, asked, "And then?"
Tony pulled out two more tubes, placing one in line with the first. The beam shot out but was immediately attracted by the first beam, connecting the two in a straight line.
Then he positioned the third one so that the three metal tubes formed a perfect triangle. When the third beam fired, the two beams above that had formed a line suddenly expanded and connected with the third beam, creating a triangular light curtain!
"Interesting!"
Arthur's eyes lit up. "What is the maximum effective range between two metal tubes?"
"Three kilometers,"
Tony replied. "The height is adjustable, but can't exceed 500 meters."
"That should be enough."
Arthur thought for a moment. There weren't extreme mountain peaks on that comet, but he still said, "A 500-meter limit is enough for use on the comet, but on Earth, it's not very practical."
"You think so?" Tony snorted coldly. "This is merely a device to block signals. First, it blocks signals; second, it blocks ecological information. Most importantly, once this thing activates, it can create a hidden effect outside, making a celestial body vanish from the sky, causing most radars to fail to detect or even see it! But it doesn't have sufficient defensive capabilities. That's important to understand. So don't even think about using this to protect Earth, because that's impossible!"
"Why not try to develop related defenses?" Arthur suggested.
"Do you know the energy consumption difference between blocking and defending?"
Tony looked at Arthur with disdain. "Honestly, even if Stark Industries and Osborn Industries exhausted all their resources, they couldn't cover all of New York, let alone with height limitations."
"Alright then."
Arthur could only express regret, then looked at the boxes full of gadgets and started putting them into the Disassemble space one by one. "Alright, I'll get busy now. It's been delayed for too long. After handling this, I also have to make a trip to the planet Xandar."
After saying this, he noticed Tony's face darken and asked, "What's wrong?"
"Did you take them all?"
Tony ground his teeth. "Couldn't you leave me a little? Just a bit! Maybe these things have more uses. Even if it was a flash of inspiration, you taking everything kills my creative spark!"
"Sounds serious…"
Arthur quickly took one out from the Disassemble space and handed it to Tony. "Here, it's yours, including Earth's future!"
"...Just one?"
"There are three more on the ground!"
"I feel like killing someone; what do I do?"
"So scary, a superhero has fallen!"
