"You still dare to come at me?"
Arthur took a deep breath; his patience had officially reached its limit.
He casually pulled out a two-handed sword from Asgard from his Disassemble Space. With a flick of his wrist, the blade swept out in a horizontal arc, cleaving the flying half of the car into two again, sending the fragments hurtling off to either side.
Then, he stepped forward, swung the sword in a full-circle arc, and slashed straight toward the Symbiote!
The man possessed by the Symbiote wore a confused expression, he couldn't understand: What the hell is this guy wielding a giant sword, swinging at me like a lunatic?
On either side of the Symbiote host, black liquid surged up, condensing into a massive blade, which collided violently with Arthur's greatsword,
CLANG!
A sharp metallic sound rang out.
The man smirked, just about to speak, when he suddenly felt an unbearably massive force pressing down on him.
The sheer might of it was overwhelming!
His host body wasn't strong enough to withstand it. With the sound of bones cracking, his skeleton shattered instantly under the pressure.
In the blink of an eye, his body was twisted and warped from the crushing blow.
Next, his legs involuntarily left the ground, and he was hurled backward!
But before he even hit the ground, the man in midair let out a string of sharp cracks,
With his head down and feet up, black liquid surged from his hands, striking the ground like anchors.
With a burst of strength, he flipped midair, his tendrils flinging him toward the nearby mountainside. In mere moments, he was already climbing up with beast-like agility.
He scrambled up the rock face like it was flat ground, then stopped, turned back, and nearly jumped out of his skin.
Arthur was standing right in front of him.
"Oops, my bad. I totally forgot I can teleport." Arthur bared his teeth in a smile that looked like a toothache.
I know too many tricks… When I use Raven God's Wings, I always forget I can teleport too.
The man recoiled in shock, leapt back down to the ground, dropped into a crouch with one hand on the ground, then snarled like a wild animal:
"You… what are you?"
"Human," Arthur replied. "I'm an Earthling."
"Impossible!" The man hissed, his voice rough and brimming with hostility. "Earthlings can't possibly possess your strength. I've been observing this planet for six whole months. Earthlings are weak, greedy, selfish, pathetic. They're perfect food, but they'll never become something like you. Even the strongest among them… are just chewier snacks."
"Let me correct you on something first." Arthur raised a finger. "In the hierarchy of civilizations, any race that develops intelligence, technology, or magic cannot be classified as food. Predator-prey logic is a barbaric relic from the primitive age.
In today's world, even cannibals are rare. Eating people is wrong. The most obvious example? I've never once thought of eating you."
The man frowned and went silent for a few seconds. Then suddenly exploded with rage: "You're calling me weak?!"
"You're just the tallest among dwarves, at best." Arthur shrugged. "To me, you're probably not nearly as strong as you think."
"I'll show you just how powerful I truly am!"
"I'm not looking forward to it." Arthur waved dismissively.
"Now I'm giving you a choice. It's a form of respect, just the bare minimum. Because on Earth, you've already committed unforgivable crimes. Any more respect would be unfair to those you've already devoured."
The man suddenly grinned.
The teeth in his mouth weren't even human anymore, razor-sharp rows of jagged fangs that looked ready to shred anything.
"I just had an idea. What if we teamed up? I can enhance your power even further. With your abilities, gathering food for me would be effortless. Together, we could make this world tremble!"
Arthur narrowed his eyes.
"Why… would I want to make this world tremble?"
Arthur rolled his eyes.
"And what exactly do I gain from making the world tremble?"
"You'll become a man above all men!"
"Sorry, but I think I already am… I mean, I may not fully realize it myself, but at this point, yeah, I'm kind of a big deal."
"Is your ambition only to stand above others? We could conquer so much more!"
The Symbiote-possessed man continued trying to tempt Arthur: "My very presence here proves it, there is far more in this universe than just humans. We hold great potential. We can conquer other planets, turn their inhabitants into our food. Our name will echo through the stars! We'll become legend! Myth! You will have endless wealth and infinite renown!"
Arthur let out a sigh.
"Sorry, but your sales pitch is a bit too low-tier for me. First of all, obviously humans aren't the only beings in the universe. I personally know of many others, from Asgard to Xandar, and more. Honestly, I've probably seen more species than you have."
The man looked bewildered. Arthur noticed it too and smirked.
"Wait… you don't know, do you?"
"...Why wouldn't I know?!" The man suddenly flew into a rage.
Arthur said calmly,
"The wonders of this universe are probably just fantasies to you. Let's face it, your planet was probably destroyed a long time ago. Otherwise, you wouldn't be floating through space as a specimen on a comet."
"SHUT UP!!!"
With a furious roar, the man lunged forward. In a flash, he was right in front of Arthur.
Razor-sharp claws slashed out, slicing the air with a piercing screech, all five aimed straight for Arthur's head.
But the next second, Arthur caught his wrist.
The man looked up, and for the first time, a strange fear crept into his heart.
Somehow, the carefree look on Arthur's face had vanished. With a cold expression, Arthur gripped his opponent's arm tightly, and one by one, he snapped each clawed finger clean off.
Then, without hesitation, he seized the man's head.
"I've lost all patience with you. What do you think this place is? A kindergarten? A buffet line? You think you can do whatever the hell you want on Earth and no one will stop you?"
He took a deep breath.
"You're wrong. You picked the wrong place to act like a savage. Do you understand that?"
A crushing force burst from Arthur's palm, with a deafening boom, the ground split, forming a crater large enough to fit a man.
The Symbiote host, now unconscious, didn't even have time to groan before collapsing into the pit.
