The castle corridors now felt somewhat long and narrow, as if the path to his father's chambers were longer than they actually seemed. Perhaps it was not the path to the chamber itself that caused this feeling of pressure on his chest.
The thought of how he would explain things to his father, who would soon awaken, left him rather perplexed. He wouldn't leave his old man in the dark, but he couldn't exactly bring himself to say the complete truth either. Such was a matter even a dragon lord found delicate.
But still, he deserved the full truth of who he was, what had happened, and what his plans were, no matter how bizarre they might seem.
Arriving before the massive wooden doors of the chambers that had golden vein carvings of dragons in flight, the dragon knights stationed there bowed before him, then proceeded to open the door for their lord.
