ASHER P. O. V
I wasn't in any particular mood to sit down but since it was Alexia that called the meeting, l went for it but she seemed off, she didn't even bother to look at me as she always does when I entered the room, she handed it all over for her assistant to handle despite her being in the meeting, her mind was elsewhere entirely something was definitely up so l asked her a question which she didn't even know if her assistant haven't touched her and she way she flinched like she was on edge, cautious of something
I request her audience but she dismissed it straight up, walking into her office she wasn't her self at all
"Are you alright?" I asked genuinely
"Of course, why wouldn't I be ?"
An obvious lie and there's no way l can make her spill... Maybe if l anger her enough she might tell me what's going on. I regretted every single thing l said but it worked.
"Fuck you Asher so that's all you have to say? You're really the Robot l said you were before l was an idiot for thinking otherwise, whatever wants to happen to that project should happen cause l'm freaking tired of overthinking like an idiot and now there's someone out who wants me dead so l'm not only worrying about the damn project but also for my own dear life worse part l'm so helpless and alone"
My heart shattered as l saw the tears running down her cheeks,l had no idea she was feeling this way saying those words earlier made me feel more incredibly guilty and the fact that she thought she was alone made feel more guilty maybe it was a wrong idea to stay away from her when l should be by her side fighting all her battles so as she wouldn't cry anymore so she'll feel safe. I thought that by not being by her side will make her safe but clearly l was wrong but that ends now.
I pulled into my embrace to reassure her she wasn't alone but she was reluctant to trust me, something tells me she doesn't trust people easily, she has many secrets and won't tell anyone about it or leave a trace but some days back I mange to secure an very important info about her.
I was still trying to calm her but for some reasons she looked flustered and shy even looking embarrassed and l wondered if l was doing something wrong but before l could ask about it, she ran out of her own office
''what was that about?' Ethan asked
'no idea'
"Sir, l called the silver's clan and they agreed for a meet up" Felix told me while driving home
"Good"
"Sir if l may ask, why are now suddenly interested in the silver's group l thought you didn't want to be involved in the clash"
"This has nothing to do with the clash, l just want to quench my curiosity"
"Ok sir, Sir you received an invitation to Hayden's wedding should I accept?"
"Will Alexia be there?"
"Yes, from my sources both of them were good friends in highschool so she'll definitely be there"
I nodded
"Does that mean l should accept it?"
"Yes" I said looking at the window as we zoomed pass
Recently l found out that four years back Alexia mysteriously disappeared without a single trace l still don't know why or where she disappeared to but she came back the years after her grandfather died, l also found out she was adopted traces about her real parents were no where at all to be found infact it was due to some gruesome and extensive digging I found out she was adopted apparently the military was also involved in hiding her past, l don't know why but it must have been important.
And l also think she's was part of the silver's clan... It was crazy but is the only thing I can think of that's why l need to confirm it first. The silver's clan has a 3 curved waves as their logo and l noticed the same tattooed on the side of her arm the time l was pinned on the ground by her at the Slade's house at the time l didn't think much of it then but yesterday I happened to come across a member of the Silver's clan with the same tattoo in the same place on his shoulders and that got me thinking.
"Sir, Miss Julia have been trying to reach you, should l put her through?"
*Sighs" what does she wants?"
"She didn't say, just persistently insist that she wants to speak with you"
"Fine" I pressed my temples
"I wonder why you still keep up with her" Felix grumbles
He and Julia had never been on good terms and l guessed it was like that with everyone, no one liked Julia even l sometimes find her very difficult and annoying sometimes but I made a promise to her brother, my best friend Carlos to take care of his sister that was his dying wish and I plan to keep that promise.
"I have to" I said
'even if l don't want to
We drove over to our den when someone ran over to us
"Master, you are here, what took you so long?"
That. Was Kyle he has an appearance of a innocent kid but everyone around here knows how blood makes him happy and his favourite toy was the slicer. I found him in a vulnerable puppy form in a lab where mad people took our kind and experiment on them since l rescued him, he refuses to leave my side pleading his loyalty and since then, he became one of my loyal people but he wasn't stable A boy stuck in a man's body sometimes he threw tantrums if things doesn't go his way and so many bloodshed each time I guess is the side effect of whatever those bastard did to him in the lab and now he will never be the same as he was before.
"I was busy, how was your pet last time?"
"He was quite the stubborn one, but after l amputate his fingers that was enough to make him talk but he's dead now, did you bring me another toy " his eyes lit up
"No not today,has the hybrid woke up?"
"Oh yes, he was screaming a while ago"
I nodded and walk in, stepping inside a dark room but the smell of blood and that of garlic was very evident, there was a figure hanging with blood dripping from it thanks to multiple cuts on his body
"I pity you" he said
I raised a brow
"How dare you talk to my master like that"
Kyle punch him in the guts and he spat out blood
"Let him speak, explain why you pity me"
"You think l'm scared of you"
"Well obviously you're not but will soon be, now talk"
"You're evil, you kill and torture us hybrids even when we done no harm to you and for what.. fun?"
"You hybrids deserve no peace, you are manipulative always trying to make it look like you're the good guys and we are not"
"But we do no such thing to you, my wife and I were simply passing through the forest when you attack us and... You... You ... You killed her and tortured me. I will never forgive you nor beg for your mercy"
He looked up
"Unfortunately I couldn't avenge my wife death but remember O Alpha that your day will come where you shall sacrifice your own life for one of our kind and pay for all the lives you have taken. The chosen one will rise again and you all will pay"
Kyle struck a huge sharp pole into him, a loud hissing sound was heard and he died
"Clean up the mess"
I walked out then went into a cleaner room, lighting up a cigarette and was pondering over what he said
"Sacrifice myself for one of them"
That will never happen, maybe the fool was trying to get in my head so l discard the thought but it couldn't completely leave my head.
