Chapter 600 - 600: Star Spirit Guardians

At present, John had many choices before him.

There were still the unicorn, Zouwu, and Occamy, none of which he had used yet...

The unicorn was the most sacred of creatures, and the abilities it granted could strengthen the mind.

The Zouwu was also a sacred beast and possessed the travelling ability John desired.

The Occamy's ability to grow and shrink at will was equally tempting.

John found it difficult to choose.

After much consideration, he chose what he needed most at the moment.

As for the other two, he would still be able to obtain another bottle of Blood of Magic after the end of this school year.

He had no idea whether there would be any way to obtain Blood of Magic after graduation, so he had to make his choice carefully.

"I need to find a place to use the Blood of Magic."

Danger could arrive at any moment. John had to become stronger as quickly as possible.

Then he glanced at the experience required for his magical power to advance and muttered,

"It's almost time."

His trip to the Dark Dimension had turned him into a sponge thrown into water, greedily absorbing the energy within.

As a result, his experience had risen rapidly. Level Seven, which should have taken years to reach, was now within his grasp.

"I don't think we're that far apart anymore, Grindelwald."

John narrowed his eyes. Previously, the difference in strength had forced him to rely on elaborate schemes even against Voldemort.

Reaching Level Seven meant becoming one of the most powerful wizards in the world. The title of Second King would truly become worthy of its name.

...

Constellation Society.

As soon as John entered, he saw two golden little figures wrestling with one another.

Standing on a round table, they were surrounded by other golden little figures waving their arms and cheering them on.

The one on the left kept retreating. Turning its head, it saw that it had reached the edge.

One more step and it would fall off the "cliff".

It opened its mouth and let out a childish roar.

"Ahhh!"

With all its strength, it pushed the other golden little figure back. Then, grabbing its opponent's arm, it executed an over-the-shoulder throw.

The defeated golden little figure tumbled off the "cliff" and onto the floor beneath the table. Dizzy, it staggered to its feet, swayed a few times, and collapsed again.

The victorious little figure raised both arms and waved to its companions before spreading its arms and striking a pose as though drawing a bow.

In the next moment, it was picked up.

The golden little figure flailed wildly as John's face loomed before it.

"Just now... I didn't hear that wrong."

John picked up the golden little figure and examined it. These golden little figures, created from runes, had actually begun to make sounds.

Previously, they had possessed no ability to speak.

"Open your mouth."

The golden little figure obediently complied. It stretched its mouth open as wide as it could, and John saw that the golden lines inside resembled various nerves.

"It seems their repeated training has caused them to evolve."

Setting the golden little figure down, John stroked his chin.

His gaze shifted toward the pile of magical materials inside the Constellation Society, and he narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

"Perhaps I should pay more attention to these little fellows."

Originally, John had only intended to use the golden little figures as the core of his guardians, because their nature was very different from magical creations such as Crumple-Horned Snorkacks.

The golden little figures lacked the energy necessary to sustain themselves. If they remained away from the Constellation Society for too long, they might even dissipate.

"They were originally formed from the fusion of pure soul fragments and words. They have no bloodline at all, more like intelligent cores."

Placing a golden little figure on his palm, John looked at the nervous little fellow rubbing its hands together and smiled.

"I need to change you a little and truly make you creations of the Wick family."

The golden little figure tilted its head, not understanding.

But it was enough for John to understand. These little fellows only needed to obey orders.

"You'll follow me from now on. I need to give you a name."

John's words caused the golden little figure to jump up and down with joy. The other golden little figures hurried over as well, bouncing around in the hope that John would choose them too.

To them, John was a god, their creator.

To be chosen by their creator was the greatest honour.

"Then I'll take one more."

John selected another from the crowd of golden little figures, choosing the one that had accompanied him on his previous outing.

The two little fellows sat on John's shoulders, so excited they could hardly contain themselves.

Looking at the dejected golden little figures, John chuckled.

"Come with me. I need to make you complete."

The disappointed golden little figures immediately became energetic again. They lined up neatly behind John and followed him through the door he opened.

Beyond the door was a starry sky.

Various celestial bodies revolved around them, and the golden little figures on his shoulders let out amazed little "Wow!" sounds.

This was one of the spaces belonging to the Nine Doors, the Celestial Zone.

Most of the celestial bodies were currently dim. Not long ago, during the Battle of Hogwarts, they had erupted with brilliant starlight and formed the Rainbow Bridge that could block everything.

John casually beckoned one of the celestial bodies over and placed a golden little figure on it.

One celestial body after another descended, and the golden little figures climbed onto them like children discovering their favourite toys.

The celestial bodies rose and surrounded John.

Taking out a bottle of crimson blood from his handbag, he poured it into the Blood of Magic.

Giving it a shake, the blood inside began to merge, finally gathering into the shape of a large cat with an excessively long tail.

The cat constantly shook its mane inside the bottle, unable to stay still for even a moment.

"It really is exactly the same."

John laughed softly as he stared at the bottle.

The blood came from the Zouwu of the Forbidden Forest, and like its owner, it was brimming with vitality.

"Alright, come closer. It's time to drink."

John brought the golden little figures and the celestial bodies nearer, while the pile of magical materials was kept five metres away.

He downed the Blood of Magic in one gulp.

The large cat entered his body, causing his magic to become restless.

John let out a muffled groan. A wave of magical power spread outward from him, causing the surrounding celestial bodies to sway and nearly throw off the golden little figures riding them.

Purple energy crackled in his eyes like arcs of lightning as John drew his wand.

"Alright, we can't let all this magic go to waste."

The rampaging magic was channelled into the white wand.

A powerful surge of energy shot out from the wand and crashed into the pile of materials.

John raised his right hand. Silver spread across it as he guided the celestial bodies, scattering them throughout the area.

"Guardian Charm!"

Intense purple light erupted from his eyes. The energy exploded once more, expanding outward as a shockwave. The magical materials melted into liquids of various colours.

As the shockwave touched the golden little figures, they all cried out in surprise, and changes began to occur in their tiny bodies.

Then the golden little figures exploded, transforming into countless shining golden runes.

The melted materials flowed toward the runes.

The runes entered the materials, causing them to grow arms and legs.

Bodies gradually formed over the golden veins.

The purple light turned silver, and silver-white mist overflowed from John's body.

Within the starry sky shrouded by the mist, one imposing figure after another appeared.

John did not immediately attend to the little fellows and instead stood still.

Closing his eyes, he breathed quietly. The silver-white mist that had flowed from his body was gradually drawn back in and disappeared.

When he opened his eyes again, black mist flashed through them, mixed with silver and purple.

"I didn't expect that creating too many things at once would almost tear me apart."

John flexed his fingers. The silver-white mist from before had been fragments of his soul.

Fortunately, there was no real harm. This time had been different from before.

The last time he created something, there had been no danger to his soul.

Perhaps it was because he had created more than fifty beings at once. With the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, he had only needed to focus on one.

This time, splitting his attention among fifty creations, he might have become one of the created beings himself had his mastery of magic not been so solid.

"Fortunately, everything turned out well."

Wiping away his sweat, John looked at the darkened starry sky and brushed the celestial body beside him.

Like a moon, it emitted light and illuminated the stars.

One after another, the golden little figures groggily climbed to their feet, while the scattered celestial bodies returned to their dimensions.

Seeing their dazed expressions, John stroked his chin.

"I think they need something to wake them up."

Scales spread across his face, and his body rapidly enlarged as he let out a roar that shook the starry sky.

Startled, the golden little figures grew larger. Great antlers resembling those of deer sprouted from their heads.

Their cute little bodies transformed into heavily armed giants.

Seeing this, John returned to his human form and nodded in satisfaction.

"Now you can truly be called Divine Guardians."

The Divine Guardians looked at their creator and scratched their heads in confusion, unable to understand why John had suddenly become smaller.

Then they noticed the armoured figures around them, and chaos immediately broke out among them.

Covering his face, John sighed.

"It looks like you'll need some time to adjust."

"I'll call you Star Spirit Guardians."
