Chapter 8 - The beginning of a Saga

"TODAY WE BRING YOU BREAKING NEWS! ALL ACROSS THE GLOBE, GIANT CREATURES HAVE BEEN SPOTTED, AND MANY PEOPLE ARE WONDERING WHAT THESE CREATURES ACTUALLY ARE!"

All across the world, people who had witnessed Ben's transformations only had one question.

What exactly were these creatures?

And were they somehow related to the other various creatures that had appeared all across America?

By the "other creatures," people meant the Omnitrix aliens like Four Arms, Heatblast, Diamondhead, and many others. They had all been caught on camera over the years and had become famous across the internet. Now, however, people from all over the world had begun witnessing gigantic dragons and many other forms of strange monsters as well.

As more and more sightings were reported, countless conspiracy theories started appearing online. Many people believed there was a pattern connecting all of these occurrences. Some scientists even began referring to these mysterious beings as Titans, believing they were the ancient guardians of Earth that had secretly lived on the planet for millions of years.

Ben couldn't help but laugh at many of the more absurd theories.

However, what truly boggled the scientists' minds wasn't the sightings themselves. It was everything that had happened afterward.

The water levels across the oceans had increased.

Ocean pollution had dramatically decreased.

Entire new landmasses in the form of giant islands had mysteriously risen from the sea.

Glaciers had stopped melting.

Even the ozone layer had somehow healed itself.

Ben had even transformed into Xerneas and restored countless forests across the world. Of course, Ben made sure not to do anything too drastic, but what was done was done. He had essentially restored the Earth to the point where it looked as though humanity had never damaged it in the first place.

Because of all of this, many people naturally started putting two and two together. They began believing that these mysterious creatures were somehow responsible for healing the planet. Some even went as far as worshipping them as gods or ancient protectors of nature.

Outside of all that, Ben had mostly been spending his time testing his new transformations.

One thing, however, continued to confuse him.

What exactly should he call these transformations?

He knew his original Omnitrix transformations were aliens.

That much was obvious.

But the creatures inside the Monotrix weren't actually real alien species. They were fantasy monsters that his Monotrix itself created through its Quantum Matrix.

Should he call them monsters?

Or should he continue calling them aliens?

That was the part that confused him the most.

Calling them monsters was probably more accurate...

But calling them aliens still sounded much cooler.

Anyways, right now Ben was traveling the world just like he had always wanted to.

Ever since Ben had left the orphanage, he had traveled all across America. Now, with the completed Monotrix, he wanted to travel across the rest of the world by himself. Despite being only eleven years old, Ben was more than capable of handling himself thanks to his watch. As things currently stood, there was practically no one on the planet with the strength to challenge him.

With that confidence in mind, Ben decided he wanted to begin his newest journey from Alaska.

Before heading there, however, there was something important he needed to do first.

At the moment, Ben was transformed into a giant bird-like monster.

This was his Pidgeot form, an incredibly fast flying transformation. With Pidgeot's incredible speed, Ben easily crossed great distances as he made his way toward his destination.

After flying for a while, Ben eventually landed inside a huge garden.

A flash of golden light surrounded him as he de-transformed back into his human self.

Ben quietly looked around.

The garden was beautiful.

It was nighttime now, meaning hardly anyone would notice him there.

Which was probably for the best.

Technically...

Ben Tennyson had been declared dead.

The main reason he had come to this place, however, was much simpler than sneaking around unnoticed.

"Okay... let's see..."

He rotated the dial of the Monotrix before selecting another transformation.

A golden flash covered his body.

Moments later, Ben transformed into Gengar, a ghost-like form that resembled a large floating balloon with spikes running across its back and a wide, toothy grin stretched across its face.

Being a literal ghost, Gengar immediately turned invisible before effortlessly phasing through the ground.

He already knew exactly who he was looking for.

Silently floating through the mansion, Gengar searched every room one by one.

The bedrooms.

The kitchen.

The guest rooms.

The mansion was simply too big.

After spending several minutes searching through the enormous house, he eventually reached a large dining hall.

And there...

He finally found them.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CASH AND JT!"

Multiple people throughout the room shouted their names at the same time.

They were surrounded by their adopted parents, relatives, and new friends.

Both boys smiled brightly.

"Thank you, everyone!"

Cash's adopted mother walked forward with a warm smile on her face.

"Why don't both of you make a wish?"

"YES!"

Soon afterward, their fathers carefully carried a massive birthday cake over to the table.

Dozens of candles decorated the top of it.

All of the children gathered around immediately stared at the enormous cake with wide eyes.

Some of them were practically drooling as they imagined how delicious it was going to taste.

Even Ben...

Watching invisibly from the corner of the room...

Couldn't help thinking the exact same thing.

"Okay, now both of you blow out the candles and make a wish."

"OKAY!"

Cash and JT both closed their eyes.

For a few quiet moments, they each thought carefully about what they wanted to wish for.

Around them, everyone began singing together.

"Happy birthday to you...

Happy birthday to you...

Happy birthday, dear Cash and JT...

Happy birthday to you~"

After the song ended, both boys took a deep breath.

PHEW!

Together, they blew out every candle on the cake.

The entire room immediately burst into applause.

Cash and JT both blushed slightly before laughing together, smiling as everyone around them celebrated their birthday with them.

Ben silently floated near the ceiling in his Gengar form, watching everything unfold with a small smile on his face. Seeing the two of them laughing like this made him genuinely happy. It had been a long time since he had last seen Cash and JT smiling this much.

Cash's adopted mother chuckled as everyone finished clapping.

"So..."

She crossed her arms playfully.

"What did you two wish for?"

Cash and JT looked at each other before grinning.

"If we tell you...it won't come true!"

Cash said with a smile as JT nodded enthusiastically.

"That's the rule!"

The adults around them laughed.

"Looks like they know the birthday rules."

One of the fathers smiled before pointing toward the mountain of presents stacked against the wall.

"Well then... I think it's time for the gifts."

The moment those words left his mouth, every child in the room cheered.

"YEAH!"

"Open them!"

"Hurry!"

Several of their friends immediately grabbed Cash and JT by the arms before practically dragging them toward the pile of wrapped presents.

"Come on!"

"I wanna see what you got!"

Cash laughed.

"Hey! Slow down!"

JT nearly tripped before catching himself.

"You're gonna make me fall!"

The children quickly gathered in a large circle around the presents while the adults stayed near the dining table, chatting amongst themselves with amused smiles.

"Open the biggest one first!"

"No!"

One little boy immediately pointed at a much smaller box.

"Open that one!"

"What if it's something cool?"

Another girl shook her head.

"Small boxes are always socks."

"They're boring."

"My dad says expensive things come in tiny boxes."

"My dad says that too!"

Cash scratched the back of his head.

"...You guys aren't helping."

JT reached toward one of the medium-sized presents.

"I'm opening this one."

"Go! Go! Go!"

The children leaned forward excitedly as JT carefully tore away the wrapping paper.

Rip.

Rip.

Rip.

"Oh!"

He pulled out a brand-new remote-controlled car.

"No way!"

Cash's eyes lit up.

"That's awesome!"

JT couldn't stop smiling.

"It even has lights!"

One of the boys immediately crawled closer.

"Can we race it later?"

JT nodded without hesitation.

"Yeah!"

"If Mom says it's okay."

Cash reached for another present wrapped in bright blue paper.

"My turn."

He eagerly ripped it open.

Inside was a brand-new sketchbook along with a large case filled with colored pencils and markers.

"Whoa..."

Cash carefully picked it up.

"I've always wanted one like this."

His adopted mother smiled warmly.

"I remember seeing your drawings."

"I thought you might like something better to draw with."

Cash looked up at her.

"...Thanks, Mom."

She gently ruffled his hair.

"You're welcome."

One after another, the presents continued to disappear.

A new football.

Several comic books.

Building blocks.

A telescope.

Board games.

Books.

Even matching hoodies for both boys. Every new gift was met with another round of excited shouting from the children gathered around them.

"Open that one next!"

"No, the red one!"

"I bet that's the best one!"

"What if it's another toy car?"

"No way!"

"It's definitely a game console."

"You wish!"

Laughter filled the room as everyone continued guessing what each present contained before it was opened.

High above them, Ben quietly watched everything without making a sound.

High above them, Ben quietly watched everything without making a sound.

The children continued laughing as they compared their presents with one another, already arguing over which toy they wanted to try first. Cash proudly showed off his sketchbook while JT excitedly demonstrated how the remote-controlled car worked. Their new friends gathered around them, talking over one another as they eagerly planned what they would do after the party.

Ben simply watched.

Even the permanent grin that Gengar's face naturally wore had slowly faded away.

For the first time since entering the mansion, Ben wasn't thinking about staying hidden or admiring how happy his two friends looked.

He was thinking about himself.

"...I really missed it..."

Ben quietly whispered to himself.

He had missed another birthday.

Another chance to celebrate with the only two friends he had ever truly had.

His eyes remained fixed on Cash and JT as they laughed together.

A part of him desperately wanted to float down there, surprise them, and sit beside them while they opened every single present. He wanted to joke around with them like they used to back at the orphanage. He wanted to laugh whenever one of them got something silly and tease them over who received the better gift.

He wanted to be there.

He wanted to celebrate with them.

But...

He couldn't.

To the rest of the world...

Ben Tennyson had died a long time ago.

Everyone believed he was gone.

If he suddenly appeared now, he didn't even know what would happen. Would they believe it was really him? Would they be scared? Would they think he had been lying to them this entire time?

Ben slowly lowered his head.

"...Do these guys even remember me anymore?"

His voice was barely louder than a whisper.

"So much time has passed..."

He watched as Cash laughed with his adopted father over one of his presents while JT happily chased after the remote-controlled car as it drove across the dining hall floor. Their friends quickly joined in, pretending to dodge the little car before one of them finally picked it up, making everyone laugh again.

Ben smiled.

It was a small smile.

A sad one.

"...I'm glad."

He quietly looked at the two boys one last time.

"They really did find a good family..."

His chest still hurt.

Not because Cash and JT had moved on.

He wanted them to.

That had always been his wish.

It just...

Made him wonder if there was ever a place where he belonged too.

Did they still remember the kid who used to get into trouble with them almost every day?

Did they still remember staying up late talking about what kind of families they hoped would adopt them?

Or...

Had Ben Tennyson become nothing more than an old memory?

Ben let out a quiet sigh.

"I should go..."

Without another word, Gengar slowly floated backward and phased through the ceiling.

As he disappeared into the darkness above, neither he nor anyone else noticed the single tear that had escaped from his eye.

The tiny droplet drifted gently through the air before landing on Cash's shoulder.

"...Huh?"

Cash instinctively looked up.

He rubbed his shoulder before looking around the room.

"Did... something drip on me?"

JT looked over from across the room.

"What?"

"I thought something just landed on me."

Cash glanced toward the ceiling.

"...That's weird."

One of the other kids laughed.

"Maybe the house is leaking."

Everyone chuckled before returning to the presents.

Cash looked up one last time.

For a brief moment...

He couldn't explain why.

But he felt as though someone had been watching over them.

Then the feeling disappeared, and he simply smiled before rejoining his friends, completely unaware that Ben had already quietly left the mansion behind.

"Hey cash what did you wished for anyways??"

Cash looked at one of his female friends and then smiled sadly

"I wished for a friend to find happiness where ever he is..."

Many of the didn't understand what he meant by this but because they where kids they didn't think anything about it anyways

Meanwhile somewhere Else....

While they where having a birthday party somewhere in alaska scene was much different

The cold evening air swept across the nearly empty parking lot as families slowly made their way back to their cars. Bright lights from the circus tent still illuminated the area while cheerful music continued playing in the background.

A family of three walked together through the parking lot.

The little boy could barely contain his excitement.

"Dad! Did you see the guy riding the motorcycle inside the giant cage!?"

His father laughed as he unlocked the car.

"I did."

"He was pretty impressive."

"No!"

The boy excitedly shook his head.

"He was AWESOME!"

His mother smiled as she opened the back door for him.

"I think your favorite part was the clowns."

The boy immediately pouted.

"No way! The lions were cooler!"

"I thought you said the magician was your favorite."

"...Okay."

The boy scratched the back of his head.

"They were all my favorite."

Both of his parents laughed.

"I figured."

The family climbed into their car before the father started the engine.

As the headlights illuminated the road ahead, the little boy absentmindedly looked back through the rear window toward the circus entrance.

His smile slowly disappeared.

Someone...

Was standing there.

A tall, shadowy figure stood beneath the circus sign. Its body was completely black, making it difficult to distinguish any details in the darkness. It wasn't moving, It was simply standing there.

Watching.

The little boy blinked.

"...Mom?"

"Hm?"

"I think someone is waving at us."

His mother looked over her shoulder toward the entrance.

She frowned.

"I don't see anyone, sweetheart."

The boy looked again. The figure was still there, This time...

It slowly raised one hand.

And waved.

The movement was strangely calm.

Almost...

Like it was saying goodbye.

The little boy hesitantly lifted his own hand and gave a small wave back. The shadowy figure remained completely still for another moment.

Then...

Without making a single sound... It slowly stepped backward into the darkness behind the circus gate. And disappeared.

The boy quickly sat forward in his seat.

"...It's gone."

His father glanced at him through the rearview mirror.

"What is?"

"The person."

"What person?"

"The one at the gate."

His father looked back one last time before driving away.

"There wasn't anyone there, buddy."

The little boy turned toward the rear window again.

The circus entrance grew smaller and smaller as the car drove farther down the road.

The gate...

Was completely empty.

Still, he couldn't shake the strange feeling that whoever—or whatever—had been standing there...

Had been watching them the entire time.

The drive way back was a peacefull one as both the son and mother fell asleep while the father drived just as he was thinking nothing could go wrong a figure was standing right in the middle of the road

"What the-"

BREAKS!

The sudden breaks caused the car to go off the raod and crash into a tree!

CRASH!

The car crashed and soon the father opened his eyes as his eyes widened when he saw that his wife was.... dead. She had a sharp wooden piece from the tree stabbed into her abdomen.

"miranda no..."

He reached out to touch her cold body and felt no movement from her as she looked widen open towards the rearview mirror. He followed her gaze and his eyes widen there son was standing infront of some kind of shadowy figure!

"NO! JACK!"

Despite his injuries he tried to crawl out of the car desperate to save his son as he tried to get the seat belt off of him

"GET off me dammnit!!"

He finally was able to take it off as he looked at the rearview image again and this time his son... his little boy was looking straight at him with a completely dead look in his eyes as he pointed towards his direction

"no...no..."

Before he could even react the creature snatched jack and took him into the darkness of the jungle

"NOOOO!!"

Ok another chapter is complete and if you guys are wondering what this horror stuff is all about. This is going to be the first villain of this Saga, yes i am thinking about taking the story into a saga route similair to dragon ball Z. There are going to be three main Saga's and one final saga and if my calculations are correct so it would take be around 100+ to near 200 chapters to complete the three main Saga's could take me less to be honest.

The direction of the story is inspired by DC absolute universe except it won't be super edgy it would deal with dark theme's maturely. No OC villains would be used instead ben 10 villains would be reworked in each saga similair to how we have Absolute bane and absolute Jokers.

This chapter establish the beginning of the first saga, The upload would take some time because i need to create essentially a new story and character development from scratch. Hope you guys enjoy my idea and vision so far!

And tell me what do you think of the vision i have for the story after the fourth saga i am thinking about either ending the book or do multiversal travel instead where ben goes to different universes we will see when we get there
