Chapter 4 - chapter 4

As the sun rises over the vampire mansion, casting a golden glow over the foreboding structure, Eliana was taken aback by the knock on the door. She couldn't sleep well, feeling uncomfortable and scared of the unknown, her mind racing with thoughts of the eerie sounds and dark shadows that lurked in every corner. The sounds of crickets and insects added to her unease, their chirping and buzzing like a chorus of restless spirits. She had never spent a night in such a place, and the unfamiliar surroundings made her feel like a trapped animal.

Sarah entered with a bowl of ointment and curtsied immediately, her movements graceful and fluid like a swan. "Good morning, my lady. I see you're looking a bit pale. Did you have a restless night?" Eliana hummed and shifted her bedsheet to stand up, her slender figure swaying slightly like a reed in the wind.

Sarah gently helped her undress, carefully removing the intricate gown that sparkled in the dim light like a thousand tiny stars. She led her to the sunlit bathroom, filled with the sweet scent of rose and lavender, where the fragrance of blooming flowers filled the air like a gentle breeze. As Eliana soaked in the bath, Sarah washed her hair, carefully massaging her scalp to ease her tension, her fingers working like magic to calm her nerves.

"You're safe now, my lady. No need to worry," Sarah said, her voice soothing like a lullaby.

After the bath, Sarah carefully picked an orange gown and placed it on the bed as Eliana stepped out of the tub, her skin glowing like porcelain in the soft light. The dress shimmered in the light, its delicate lace and precious gemstones showcasing Eliana's delicate shape like a work of art.

As Eliana stood, she lost her balance and fell back, harming her hand and causing blood to ooze out like a crimson river. Sarah rushed to her side, worried, and helped her up, leading her to the room as Eliana groaned in pain, her face pale like a ghost.

"My lady! Oh dear, you're hurt!" Sarah shouted, helping her to the drawer chair, her voice echoing through the room like a cry for help. "I'll get some disinfectant, my lady. Don't worry, I'll take care of you." She left to get the disinfectant before the smell of blood reached the others, her heart racing like a wild animal.

Sarah knew she would be punished greatly for neglecting her mistress and feared for her life, knowing her master wouldn't take it lightly. When she returned, she cleaned the blood, helped Eliana wrap the wound, and assisted her in wearing her dressing, ensuring the dress didn't touch the covered wound, her movements swift and efficient like a nurse tending to a wounded patient.

"There you are, my lady. All fixed up," Sarah said, her voice soft like a gentle breeze.

Eliana nodded, her eyes still filled with fear, her mind racing with thoughts of the unknown dangers that lurked in every corner of the mansion.

Just before Sarah finished adorning Eliana, a knock was heard, and the butler entered, dressed in impeccable black attire like a dark shadow. "Her Majesty, His Majesty, King Ryker requests your company for breakfast," he said, his voice low and even like a death knell.

Eliana's heart skipped a beat as she rose from her seat, her gown rustling softly like a whisper, her hand trembling like a leaf as she followed the butler to the grand dining hall. The room was resplendent with candelabras, fine china, and crystal glasses, dimly lit by the flickering candles like a dark and foreboding cave. The table was set with a sumptuous feast, and the maids were arranged in a linear order, their red eyes scanning Eliana like predators as she entered.

Eliana felt the hostile air coming from the maids, their eyes like cold, dark stones, but she maintained her stance as she walked down the staircase, her heart pounding like a drum in her chest. Ryker's attention was solely on Eliana, his smile turning sour like a spoiled milk as she approached the table, his eyes like two cold, dark pools that seemed to suck the life out of her.
