Chapter 4686: The Door That Won't Open
Six enormous insects identical in appearance and aura, all at the quasi supreme level charged toward the portal.
The Arctic Supreme narrowed his eyes, danger in his gaze.
Just the pressure of these six quasi supreme insects was already considerable.
The Arctic Supreme could see clearly that, alone, these insects might not match a true quasi supreme. But together, not only would an ordinary quasi supreme be no match even the Arctic Supreme might have trouble facing them.
And this was only the tip of Jin Supreme's strength; he surely possessed even greater trump cards.
The Arctic Supreme quickly realized that Jin Supreme was stronger than himself, and if possible, best avoided as an enemy.
Lin Moyu also saw just a small portion of Jin Supreme's strength no wonder he once dared call Calamity Supreme just "Little Calamity."
It wasn't recklessness but genuine confidence.
Back then, Jin Supreme was still trapped in the Insect Stele, not yet free. His power now could only be even greater.
And by his own words, "Dao" wouldn't dare kill him. This clearly wasn't bravado, but fact.
The six quasi supreme insects attacked the portal, their limbs turning sharp as blades, raining down strikes like a thunderstorm. The noise was like a hammer on iron.
Yet, the great door didn't budge; not even a scratch appeared. They could chop for thousands of years and still never open it.
Jin Supreme understood that as well. He tapped a finger, and the Insect Stele flashed, shining on the six giant bugs.
Their bodies simultaneously shattered, then reformed instantly becoming a single, more than 100,000 meter colossal insect.
Merged, the bug's aura was even mightier, reaching almost the absolute limit of a Supreme.
This giant insect struck the portal again with even greater power, the roar deafening but the door still did not move.
"Interesting, truly fascinating!"
Jin Supreme's eyes sparkled with excitement; he'd heard of this door back when he was still the Golden Sun Sovereign.
He never had the chance to see it for himself, but now that he was here, he was determined to go in.
He controlled the stele again, sending it barreling toward the portal.
The giant insect flowed back into the stele; within, countless insect cries rose in a cacophony.
The stele crashed heavily into the portal and was knocked back.
A crack appeared at one corner of the stele an injury from this blow.
For the first time, the door quivered, but only briefly, quickly returning to normal.
Jin Supreme pointed again; fragments from the damaged stele flew back automatically, instantly restoring its appearance.
Though it looked perfect, Lin Moyu could tell the collision had damaged its interior those insects within likely suffered heavy losses.
Despite pushing the stele to the point of taking damage, Jin Supreme still could not open the portal.
He withdrew the stele and stopped, "Seems this door really can't be forced."
Turning to Lin Moyu, he called, "Lin, would you open the door for us?"
At once, the Arctic Supreme and others all stared at Lin Moyu.
"You really opened it before?"
The Arctic Supreme was shocked, remembering Lin Moyu possibly being here before, but never guessed he could open the door.
At that moment, another arrived the previously trapped Hanxin, eyes angry toward Lin Moyu but not acting, only siding with the Arctic Supreme.
Here, another three way standoff formed, and the air grew tense.
Lin Moyu laughed lightly, "Nothing escapes your eyes, Senior."
Jin Supreme bellowed a laugh, "Last time, I saw you go in with my own eyes pity you were so quick I couldn't follow."
Lin Moyu said, "Your insects are extraordinary, Senior. I can indeed open this door, but the contents inside may disappoint you."
Jin Supreme replied, "Better disappointment inside than never getting in."
Lin Moyu nodded, "Before that, the Wine Venerable and the Arctic Supreme should settle their old scores. Perhaps wait until that's done to open the door?"
Jin Supreme readily agreed, "Fine by me."
Lin Moyu glanced at Bingfeng and Hanxin, "This is private business between Wine Venerable and Arctic Supreme you two needn't interfere."
Hanxin's face changed, angry, "Who are you to "
He was cut off by Bingfeng grabbing his arm, "Don't speak, let the Supremes decide."
He had already felt Lin Moyu's punch once and knew how strong he was.
Lin Moyu's meaning was clear: try to interfere, and he'd act as well. Bingfeng knew he was no match.
The Arctic Supreme said quietly, "Indeed, this is between myself and Wine Friend don't meddle."
Once he spoke, Bingfeng and Hanxin had no more to say.
Wine Venerable took a sip, thanked Lin Moyu, and moved to talk privately with the Arctic Supreme.
The two flew billions of miles away; what they said is unknown, but soon, a fierce battle erupted.
Frost and drunken haze filled the void; Wine Venerable's techniques were elegant, the Arctic Supreme's cold Arts a stark contrast.
They did not fight to the death there was restraint on both sides.
After half an hour the fight ended, and both returned.
Wine Venerable had changed clothes his had been ruined in the brawl, despite being a treasure worth a fortune, it couldn't withstand such powerful combat.
The Arctic Supreme was also changed, sporting a few faint fist marks on his face.
Wine Venerable's strength lingered on him, not easily dispelled.
Wine Venerable too bore some injuries, but nothing serious.
It was clear to Lin Moyu that while the result seemed even, the Arctic Supreme had held back; in terms of strength, Wine Venerable fell short.
Wine Venerable declared, "Our debts are settled from now on, friend or enemy depends on the future, not the past."
The Arctic Supreme said nothing, but that counted as agreement.
Everyone knew there was history between the two.
Jin Supreme asked, "Now, Lin, can you open the door?"
Lin Moyu floated over to the portal and, with everyone watching, pressed his hand to the surface.
He had the mark of the Worldwall and the right to enter.
With only the lightest push, the door vibrated faintly and swung open.
"So easy?"
Everyone gaped they thought Lin Moyu would need some secret method, only to see him open it with the gentlest touch.
Even their sharpest vision saw no trick. They all knew something was up if it could really open that easily, it would have been done again and again across the ages.
Lin Moyu pushed open the door and smiled, "Please, after you."
His eyes twinkled, eager to see everyone's reactions once they saw what was inside.
