Chapter 4522: The Quiet Spirit Pearl and Illusory Spirit Pearl
Snowflakes drifted in the air. Lin Moyu discovered that a few particular flakes among them were special.
Amidst the swirling storm, these snowflakes appeared no different from others, but they never fell nor drifted away instead, they spun in a set region.
Their concealment was impressive; if not scrutinized closely, their presence would go completely unnoticed.
Normally, someone might eventually notice, but these flakes constantly emitted a strange aura that compelled observers to overlook them.
Had his soul not been so sharp, Lin Moyu might never have noticed either.
He asked, "See those snowflakes?"
Little Tree shook its head, "Which ones do you mean, Master?"
Chaos Spirit was puzzled. "Aren't all snowflakes the same?"
They couldn't detect any difference. Their souls were keen, but not as keen as Lin Moyu's.
Focusing on those snowflakes, Lin Moyu directed Little Tree and Chaos Spirit's attention so they could finally spot them.
Even then, it took effort before they recognized the peculiar flakes.
Chaos Spirit whispered, "These really are different. I can't recall seeing them before, yet they seem strangely familiar."
Little Tree agreed. "I feel the same likely their original appearance was altered. They must have looked different before."
That two beings from ancient eras both sensed familiarity meant these snowflakes were connected to an ancient being from their time.
Lin Moyu grew excited if these were remnants of a being from that era, it could mean another top tier material to enhance his domain foundation.
To him, the snowflakes seemed to glow with a light only he could see.
Their unique aura spread through the storm like invisible smoke, permeating the entire continent.
Lin Moyu slowly hovered closer, moving so gradually that none noticed anything unusual he looked for all the world like a traveler admiring the snow.
Arriving in front of the special flakes, he reached out; they settled in his palm as if weightless, not cold but subtly warm to the touch.
Clearly, these were no ordinary snowflakes. Lin Moyu had no doubt.
Exerting a thought, he infused soul power into the flakes, soul fire refining them.
The flakes morphed as he refined them, transforming into a clear bead the size of a fingernail.
Then, with a faint snap, the bead shattered into dust and vanished.
At the same time, the storm stopped and Lin Moyu's face changed.
A wisp of intent touched him at the moment the bead broke; incredibly faint, but he grasped it.
Its owner was the same as the one who hurled the ice mountains at him.
"Crap, I've been found!"
Without hesitation, Lin Moyu stepped out beyond the snow continent. Xiao Peng sprang forth, shifting him into a streak of golden light.
From the bead's break to his departure took less than half a second.
As he escaped, Lin Moyu instantly took out the Causal Seeking Ring, "Fruit without a cause change my aura, let no one follow me."
A backlash swept through him cracks scarred his body and soul, but neither broke nor perished.
Given the current strength of his flesh and soul, unless his causal manipulation was utterly outrageous, he could resist the price.
It worked. The force of causality descended, transforming his aura again, totally different from before.
As Lin Moyu fled into the distance, a commotion broke out on the snow continent.
The continent was vast, and there were many such special snowflakes; Lin Moyu had only taken a few.
The area those flakes influenced was just a small part of the whole.
Now, in this one section, the wind and snow stopped.
All the creatures that had been resting there awoke.
They all turned, spotting the outsider.
The once gentle gazes became ferocious, filled with killing intent.
Roars erupted giant beasts began attacking. Chaos broke out instantly, the area plunged into battle, the weak killed on the spot.
Elsewhere on the continent, where the snow continued, there was no fighting. Creatures who awoke just glanced around and went back to sleep.
So a strange scene appeared: one patch of the continent was wracked with savage combat, the rest lounged about lazily, indifferent.
Suddenly, a rift opened in the void.
A blue robed, blue haired North Pole Supreme descended.
Frowning faintly, he tossed a bead, which dissolved into snow and fell.
Snow resumed; the fighting halted abruptly.
A moment ago, beasts were slaughtering each other; the next, they were back to being close brothers.
The Supreme gazed toward the void he clearly had not found Lin Moyu, and said in a low voice, "So you're still in the North Pole always looking for trouble. Take care not to get involved in my affairs."
"If you do, no matter how dangerous it is, I'll have to send you away."
His voice faded as he stepped out and vanished.
Gold light coursed on after flying billions of miles, Lin Moyu finally relaxed.
He was certain now: the being behind the ice mountain and the one whose intent was in the bead was a Supreme.
There was only one Supreme in the North Pole; it must be him making the move.
Lin Moyu knew full confrontation was futile he would never breakthrough that blockade, and would be killed if the Supreme tried.
But he could not give up on refining the Calamity Supreme's formation he just needed another plan, which was already forming in his mind.
At that moment, Little Tree spoke quietly: "Now I know what that is."
Chaos Spirit added, "Me too it's the Quiet Spirit Pearl."
Little Tree: "Not just the Quiet Spirit Pearl, but also the Illusory Spirit Pearl."
Lin Moyu asked, "What are the Quiet and Illusory Spirit Pearls?"
Little Tree explained, "Back then, Heaven and Earth bore several spirit pearls at once. Besides the Disorder Spirit Pearl, there were others Quiet Spirit, Illusory Spirit, and so on. The last two never developed spirit of their own; before they did, they were taken by others and, if anything remained, their will was erased."
Chaos Spirit said, "I remember, they weren't seized by the same person but now, both are in the hands of one being."
Between the two of them, they covered the pearls' functions, and Lin Moyu finally understood.
A chill crept over him the North Pole Supreme was far more complicated than he'd thought.
He even sensed that the Supreme harbored secret motives behind these actions.
